Chapter 364: 347 Pretending to Be Powerful by Borrowing Influence (Part 1)
The guests at the banquet had mostly left after finishing their meal.
Some villagers stayed behind to play cards.
Xiaonian found a string of firecrackers somewhere and had her brother light them and throw them into the pigpen.
As soon as the firecrackers were thrown in, they started crackling loudly. Zhang Dacai immediately jumped up, his face panic-stricken, "What happened, is there a fire?"
"Haha." Xiaonian, watching his reaction, laughed so hard she bent forward and backward, "Brother, look at him, he’s so funny."
The crackling firecrackers splattered some of the pig dung onto him, not just on his body but on his face and head too, looking quite ridiculous.
"You two little brats, are you looking for death?" Zhang Dacai stood up, realized it was two kids playing a prank on him, and glared at Xiaonian and Xiaoyan fiercely, "Where’s my son, call him here. He just watches someone lock me in the pigpen and does nothing, what is he trying to do, plan to murder his own father?"
Making a face at Zhang Dacai, Xiaonian said, "At best you’re a scumbag, not worthy of being called a father. You should have a good sleep here tonight, there might be snakes, insects, and ants to keep you company."
"You two little devils, where are you from? If you dare, let me out and see if I don’t teach that fat bitch a lesson. The son is mine, what right does she have to keep my son here? Wherever my son is, that’s where I’ll be. I have decided, I want to spend my old age at the Su Family."
So he’s been made to stay in the pigpen, and he won’t leave.
"Where you want to stay, we can’t control. But we can tell you, you’ve been prepared a big surprise, you’ll definitely be amazed," Xiaonian looked at him like an eagle eyeing a chick, very excited.
"You two little brats, where are you from and what is your relation to Su Xiaofeng?" Zhang Dacai was not afraid of the two facing him. No matter how well dressed, they were just kids whose milk scent hadn’t faded yet, he was not scared.
"Xiaofeng is my sister-in-law, Ye Cheng is my brother," Xiaonian said, facing him, pulling out a pitch-black object from his pocket and casually fiddling with it, "Ever seen this thing before?"
Zhang Dacai looked over and shuddered when he saw what Xiaonian had in her hand.
That was, that was...
His lips trembling, he stammered, "Who are you two, exactly?"
That black object, even if he hadn’t used it, he recognized it.
That could be very lethal, a loud bang could likely be the end of him.
That’s not the point, though. The point is how these two kids got such a thing, what their identities were.
Xiaonian was casually playing with the thing in her hand, gave a cold laugh, and aimed it at Zhang Dacai, "Zhang Dacai, ever seen this thing before? I must tell you, this thing doesn’t see who it hits, and if I accidentally press here, you might just lose your life here today. But this place is pretty nice, if you die here, maybe you’ll get to be reincarnated as a pig next life. Eat, sleep, sleep, eat, sounds quite close to your wishes, doesn’t it?"
Saying that, Xiaonian gently blew on the muzzle, looking amused and intrigued.
Seeing her expression and the thing in her hand, Zhang Dacai knelt down with a thud, scared to wet his pants, "Ancestor, please don’t kill me, I’m just old, can’t make money, just wanted my son to provide for me."
"Bah, did you provide for anyone when you were young, and now you dare to have someone provide for you when you’re old. You’re lucky you’re not my father, if you were, not only would you have fried my brain, but you would have kicked us out. Right now, I would have shot you with one bullet and spared us the bother of seeing you," Xiaonian said, aiming the muzzle at Zhang Dacai.
Zhang Dacai, hearing her emotionless words and seeing that dark muzzle, raised his hands over his head, his face pale, "Miss, Young Master, please don’t shoot, I’ll give up my son if I must. Everyone makes mistakes when they’re young, isn’t that right?"
"The mistakes you make when you’re young, you bear the consequences when you’re old. You despised others for being foolish in your youth, now that their mind is clear, it’s none of your business," Xiaonian thought she was simply the embodiment of justice, particularly when dealing with someone like Zhang Dacai, it was just too easy.
Xiaoyan was keeping watch not far away.
He had no choice, his sister was playing big and he had to keep watch. If the villagers saw what she had in her hand, who knows how scared they might get.
Although, what she had in her hand wasn’t really a gun but a lighter. If not a professional, no one could really tell if it was real or fake.
Just a lighter, but looking at his sister acting fierce, if their parents saw, they’d definitely scold her.
"Miss, you’re right, you’re too right. Just let me go, and I promise I won’t come looking for trouble again," Zhang Dacai could not think much now, only wished for her to let him go quickly.
The thing in her hand was not a toy, one careless move and it could be life-threatening.
"No, you’ve got to promise."
"I promise I won’t cause trouble again, we can forget I ever had a son," Zhang Dacai’s legs shook fiercely, that thing looked very scary.
Hu Xiulan had originally wanted to check on her family’s pigsty; she approached from the back. The back was a small woodland, cluttered with the villagers’ domestic waste, and it was seldom traversed.
She heard some noise ahead and gently leaned against a tree, curious to see what was happening in front.
What she saw next truly startled her.
She saw that girl from out of town holding something dark in her hand, aiming it right at Zhang Dacai, who was kneeling on the ground begging for mercy, visibly terrified.
Hu Xiulan herself was equally startled, that was, that was...
Heavens, it truly was serious, how could that person have such a thing in her hand?
Those children must have been brought by Ye Cheng, anyone possessing such objects surely couldn’t be good people.
Yes, that Ye Cheng mustn’t be a good person, otherwise why would the people he brings behave like this?
Heavens, heavens, she felt like she had uncovered a significant incident, she had to tell everyone, let them know Ye Cheng was not a good man, and that these people he brought had guns.
Telling the villagers wouldn’t help, she had to go to the town, she had to alert the police and let the authorities handle it. Yes, and she must go quietly, what if they discovered her presence and shot a bullet her way, what would she do then?
Yes, she had to leave quietly, then head to the town as fast as possible.
As soon as she decided to leave, Hu Xiulan left stealthily, retracing the narrow path, then taking another route to reach the village entrance, quickly found her husband and had him pedal her away on the bicycle towards the town.
Xiaonian, spotting Zhang Dacai’s pleading look, scoffed, "Zhang Dacai, remember this is all your doing. If you dare try anything with Brother Pengzi again, I’ll just bang and cripple your legs." Xiaonian said, gesturing with her hand as though about to strike.
"Miss, Miss," Zhang Dacai, thinking that she was about to shoot, urinated a little in his pants, "I wouldn’t dare, absolutely not."
Xiaohuo, noticing someone approaching, said to Xiaonian, "Sis, someone’s coming this way."
Hearing her brother’s voice, Xiaonian casually put away the lighter, "Zhang Dacai, my gadget doesn’t discriminate. You’d better be clear on what you should and shouldn’t say. Say something you shouldn’t, and if it ruins my mood, I don’t care, I’ll handle you first, understood?"
Zhang Dacai, now terrified, dared not disagree; even if they asked him to call out titles of respect, he would have voiced them without a second thought.
The newcomers were He Yong and his mother, Granny Huang.
This situation, something Guaizi and Xiaofeng definitely couldn’t resolve in person, and having their daughters or someone else interfere would only complicate matters further.
So, it had to be her and Yongzi who came.
This Zhang Dacai really was something, having driven out his wife and son when they were younger and still having the audacity to show up asking to stay with Pengzi as an old man.
Tch, who gave him that much face?
Granny Huang, seeing the boy and girl twins there, was somewhat surprised, "Young man, little lady, what are you doing here?"
Although Granny Huang was not highly educated and spoke mostly in heavy dialect needing careful listening to be understood,
"It’s Granny, my sister said she had never seen a country pigsty and specifically came over to take a look," Xiaoyan replied somewhat shyly.
"Oh my, you city folks really, getting curious about everything in our countryside," Granny Huang clicked her tongue upon learning they wanted to see the pigsty.
It’s said that city-bred are indeed city-bred, even fascinated by pigsties and cow sheds.
Only these city kids would be fond of such stinky places.
"Granny," Xiaonian greeted Granny Huang with a sweet smile.
"So sweet-mouthed," Granny Huang really liked this little lady, pretty and well-dressed, "You are city people, this place is stinky, don’t come here, it stinks."
"Granny, are you here to see this man?" Xiaonian was curious about what Granny Huang would talk about with Zhang Dacai.
Thinking about it made her grimace; even if she stayed here, she wouldn’t understand their dialect.
Thinking of the lighter at her waist, she chuckled internally; not understanding didn’t matter, as long as it had an intimidating effect on the other party.
