Ye Cheng spoke to Xiaofeng with a firm tone, not yielding an inch, "Like this, I’ll drive you there, and you have Tie Bao bring another person along, so next time even if you don’t go, Tie Bao and the other person will be able to finish the job by themselves, won’t they?"

Xiaofeng glanced at Ye Cheng, and even though she was slow to catch on to certain things, she couldn’t help but sense that Ye Cheng was not joking.

A man would not take such an interest in a woman for no reason, especially since his intentions were so clear. If she couldn’t figure it out, her reaction would be far too slow.

She looked around and noticed that Baozi and the others were all looking at her, and she cracked a smile, "Baozi, have Liu Chunming follow you onto the truck. He’s a local, let him get familiar with it too. From now on, the two of you will team up to make deliveries."

Liu Chunming was a young man recently hired, full of youth and vitality, a promising prospect.

"Alright, I’ll call him right now." Tie Bao laughed heartily, turned around, and entered the factory to fetch Liu Chunming.

It took her a while to realize that he meant to return to where he belonged.

"Something happened at home that requires me to go back and take care of it, but I’ll be back." Ye Cheng steered the wheel, "Before I go, though, I want to repay a favor to you."

Xiaofeng blinked, puzzled, "You don’t owe me any favors. What favor do you need to repay?"

"I’ve heard everything from the dumpling shop owner, about how you stepped forward to give me mouth-to-mouth when I was ill. If this had been ancient times, we’d have been considered to have had intimate contact, and I’d be obliged to marry you," Ye Cheng said with a calm expression, as if it were an ordinary remark.

To Xiaofeng, however, it sounded utterly shocking.

No way, Ye Cheng was considering a marriage proposal...

She swallowed hard, "Hey, anyone would have done the same in that situation, and besides, it’s a way to save a life. Any doctor would do it. If we go by what you’re saying, then doctors would need to marry off quite a few people."

"Don’t worry, I’m not actually going to marry you. I just want to help you out, consider it repaying a favor."

"How do you plan on helping me?" Xiaofeng looked at him suspiciously. So, he wasn’t seriously talking about marriage – maybe he planned to sort things out with money.

Ye Cheng glanced at Xiaofeng’s belly, "You wouldn’t want your baby to be born without a household registration, right? Plus, your baby will need to go to school someday. It’s going to be quite difficult to get registered if you don’t get married. You’ve helped me, and before I leave, I want to help you too."

"You mean, you want to register our marriage, be a fake husband and wife?" That’s what he meant, right?

Ye Cheng nodded, "Exactly. Rest assured. We’ll only be a fake married couple, and besides, I’m about to leave this place soon. That should make you very happy."

Xiaofeng met his gaze, and nearly got lost in those eyes—gentle, warm, indulgent, yet with a hint of holding back.

Uncomfortably, she averted her eyes, "What happens after we get the marriage certificate?"

"If I don’t come back within a year, our marriage will automatically be annulled. If I do return within a year, whether we divorce or stay together is up to you."

"Ye Cheng, I must say, this offer is very tempting. You’re right, having a baby out of wedlock, registering the baby’s household would be a major problem. As long as we’re married, that problem will no longer be an issue and it will become very easy."

"So..." Are you going to marry me?

"Will your family know about our marriage?" Xiaofeng didn’t want to cause too much trouble for Ye Cheng.

"Would you prefer I tell them, or not?" Ye Cheng kept his eyes on the road ahead, his lips slightly upturned as he heard Xiaofeng gradually take the matter of marriage to heart.

"I think we need to draft an agreement stating that you are willing and that the marriage can end at any time." Now that registering the marriage was on the agenda, she had to list some clauses tonight, and she knew there would be more than just a few.

"You said it was just to borrow for a while, it would be too disrespectful not to agree. "What do you think? This is both your first marriage and mine. Regardless of whether we have feelings or not, shouldn’t we at least have the ceremony? What do you say?"

Xiaofeng stared at Ye Cheng’s handsome face, her heart sighed inwardly; such a good-looking young man was about to become her husband, and with that in mind, it really wouldn’t do to wrong him, "Alright, since you’re helping me out, I’ll help you buy."
