Liu Hezi finished speaking and was the first to run off.

The brothers hastily followed, complaining as they ran: "We already said those families shouldn’t be touched, but Hu Si just wouldn’t listen. Now look what’s happened."

"Shut up, what are you blabbering about at a time like this, just run!" Liu Hezi looked back to see the disaster victims wielding torches, shouting loudly as they charged towards them, almost collapsing in fear as he desperately headed for their hideout in the cave.

A sharp-eyed disaster victim spotted them and pointed, shouting: "Right front, right front, there are several kidnappers there, everybody chase!"

The disaster victims despised Sister Liu and her gang, especially the families who had lost daughters, and chased Liu Hezi and his group mercilessly.

Gu Jinli did not join the chase; so many disaster victims were already pursuing Hu Si and his cronies, they didn’t lack for one more. The most important thing for her now was to protect Gu Jinxiu.

"Brother Qin, search that woman, she must have an antidote on her." The handkerchief had been soaked with a sedative, which was quite effective. Without the antidote, Gu Jinxiu wouldn’t wake up until tomorrow. As a young lady nearing her coming-of-age, Gu Jinli had to wake her up quickly to avoid gossip.

Qin San Lang searched Sister Liu’s body and found a hard purse. He took out a small bottle of medicine from it, opened it, and smelled it. The foul stench confirmed it should be the antidote for the sedative.

"Xiao Yu, here." Qin San Lang threw the antidote at Gu Jinli’s feet.

Gu Jinli picked up the medicine bottle and held it under Gu Jinxiu’s nose. After a moment, Gu Jinxiu grunted and came to.

Mrs. Cui, Third Grandma, Ms. Chu, and Luo Huiniang, after being awoken by the commotion, were quite frightened and wandered around for a while before finally locating Gu Jinli and Gu Jinxiu.

Mrs. Cui, upon seeing the two sisters, rushed over and tightly embraced them, sobbing with joy: "My Xiao Yu, Sister Xiu, I’m so relieved you’re both safe, you nearly scared me to death."

After being woken by the noise and failing to see her two daughters, Mrs. Cui cried floods of tears and hurriedly looked around for them. But it was too dark and too chaotic, and they’d been scared, taking quite some time before finally spotting them.

Gu Jinxiu had just woken up, still dazed, with no idea what had happened.

Gu Jinli patted Mrs. Cui’s back and said with a smile: "Mother, don’t worry, Big Sister and I are both fine, stop crying."

Ms. Chu, Third Grandma, and Luo Huiniang also ran over, and seeing the sisters unharmed, Third Grandma and Ms. Chu brought their hands together and bowed to the east: "Thank God for the protection."

Luo Huiniang immediately asked Gu Jinli upon seeing her: "Xiao Yu, what exactly happened? Did that gang of villains come to kidnap people again?" She heard many disaster victims shouting about catching kidnappers.

Gu Jinli nodded: "Yes, Sister Liu and her gang were too greedy. After stealing so many girls, they still wouldn’t stop. They just tried to drag someone away using a handkerchief soaked with some liquid drug. But they were out of luck; I woke up as soon as I smelled it, caught up with them, and with Brother Qin, we took them down."

Qin San Lang had already brought back two of Sister Liu’s accomplices and tied them up with Sister Liu using a rope from his waist. Seeing Third Grandma and the aunts, he called out: "Third Grandma, Aunts, don’t worry, we’ve caught these three kidnappers, and Xiao Yu and the others are fine."

Hearing Qin San Lang’s words, Luo Huiniang dashed over. Seeing the three from Sister Liu’s gang, she picked up a wooden stick and began beating them wildly: "Heartless scum, I’ll beat you to death for kidnapping people."

Sister Liu and her two companions were already injured; how could they withstand Luo Huiniang hitting them? They soon passed out after a few blows.

Luo Huiniang snorted, holding the stick as she ran back and said to Third Grandma and the others: "Third Grandma, Mother, Aunt Dashan, I’ve knocked them out, you can rest easy now."

Ms. Chu shook her head helplessly; Sister Liu and her group had already been beaten badly by Qin San Lang and Xiao Yu, there was no need for her to step in.

Gu Jinli did not want to stay there any longer. She helped Mrs. Cui lift Gu Jinxiu and said: "It’s too dark here, and not all of Sister Liu’s accomplices have been caught; let’s hurry back."

She worried about Qin San Lang and looked back to call for him, "Brother Qin?"

Qin San Lang waved his hand at her and said, "You go back first, I’ll watch over them here."

Mrs. Cui was concerned about Brother Cheng and also afraid that her two daughters would encounter further harm. Hearing Qin San Lang’s words, she did not linger and, supporting Gu Jinxiu, followed Ms. Chu and left, soon returning to their families’ resting spot.

The men and boys from each family had all gone out to search for people, leaving only Aunt Tian, Old Mrs. Yan, Ms. Yan, and Mrs. Chen with the younger children waiting at the resting spot. They were overjoyed to see them return and eagerly greeted them.

Brother Cheng was the most excited. He immediately rushed over and hugged Gu Jinli’s legs, his eyes red but he refrained from crying. Instead, he sensibly said, "It’s good that First and Second Sister are fine. Brother Cheng has been very good and didn’t run around causing trouble for the family."

He wanted to go with everyone searching, but Old Mrs. Yan stopped him, saying that with the current chaos, if he ran off and got lost, it would only cause trouble for the family.

Not wanting to add to the chaos, he held back his worry and obediently stayed put at the resting spot.

Gu Jinli let go of Gu Jinxiu and embraced Brother Cheng, saying with a smile, "Our Brother Cheng is such a good boy."

Mrs. Chen looked behind them, not seeing anyone else, and anxiously asked, "Where is Sister Mei? Why don’t I see Sister Mei? Has she not been found yet?"

Mrs. Chen was Gu Yumei’s blood-related aunt, and with Gu Yumei having lost her mother, she felt it was her duty as an aunt to be extra caring. Now that she didn’t see Gu Yumei, she was very anxious, but too afraid of death to go searching herself.

Gu Jinli said, "Sister Yu Mei is fine; Uncle Damu and Uncle Dalin have already given chase, and they should be back soon."

Mrs. Chen, having heard the story, felt considerably relieved.

A quarter of an hour later, Gu Damu, Gu Dalin, and Brother Dafu brought back the unconscious Gu Yumei.

Seeing that Gu Yumei had returned without any serious issues, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and said, "It’s good you’re back. Our families are lucky indeed; none of the girls were lost."

Gu Jinli took out the bottle of antidote and waved it under Gu Yumei’s nose for a while. Gu Yumei coughed a few times and woke up. Seeing Gu Jinli, she scolded, "Gu Xiaoyu, what are you going mad for? In the middle of the night instead of sleeping, you use this smelly stuff on me!"

Gu Jinli gave her a look and stood up to walk away.

Gu Dafu couldn’t bear to scold Gu Yumei, but Gu Dagui couldn’t hold back and reprimanded her, "Sister Mei must not speak to Xiao Yu like that. If it weren’t for Xiao Yu, you would’ve been abducted long ago." And still have the chance to scold someone here?

"That’s right, Sister Mei. Xiao Yu is your savior." Mrs. Chen vividly recounted the evening’s events to Gu Yumei.

Gu Yumei was stunned; she had been knocked out by a sedative by Sister Liu and her group and almost dragged away?

After severely beating them, they found out the hiding place of the girls who had been previously abducted.

The people quickly organized a rescue, saving over thirty girls from a cave, who had been drugged with sedatives and bound.

Unfortunately, among these girls, six had been violated by Hu Si and his group. Upon learning this, the families of these girls were so distraught they nearly fainted from grief.
