Chapter 329: Chapter 325 Self-help

The guide had originally thought that Ouyang Jun and his companions were just a few simple jade merchants, but to his horror, they had managed to summon the chief and special forces without so much as a peep.

My God, what kind of people are these, why aren’t they playing by the rules? Suddenly bringing so many helpers, isn’t this a plot to wipe them all out at once?

The guide had absolutely no idea that he had guessed Gu Xu’s thoughts perfectly.

Sitting on a private plane on the way to Hetian, Gu Xu had envisioned over a hundred different ways to deal with those Uyghur gangsters during the two-hour flight. However, he wouldn’t reveal his thoughts; after all, he had to ensure his wife’s safety first and foremost.

The Uyghur gang leader thought they had simply nabbed a wealthy woman, never realizing that by doing so, they had attracted the attention of a true demon.

"If they want money, there has to be a place for the transaction. Tell that man, if we don’t see her, they don’t get the money," Gu Xu instructed the guide.

Following Gu Xu’s instructions, the guide called the other party, and soon after, he said, "They want to trade at Moyu River."

On hearing this, Gu Xu felt a surge of fresh vitality slowly rising from the bottom of his heart. Since they dared to say this, it indicated that Huo Sining was not in danger of losing her life.

"Follow their instructions, take the ransom to Moyu River!"

Gu Xu nodded at Yu Cheng, then took off in a car with Ouyang Jun and the guide, while the special forces and Hetian police followed behind.

Soon after they neared Moyu River, dozens of special forces soldiers leaped out of their vehicles and quickly dispersed on both banks of the river, disappearing in an instant.

"Kid, you’re pretty fast, and you’ve brought a bunch of elite scouts with you. Didn’t you retire? How can you still mobilize people? You’re playing a big game here," Ouyang Jun couldn’t help but marvel as he didn’t miss a moment of the special forces soldiers’ stealthy concealment.

Gu Xu looked ahead expressionlessly, his mind filled only with concerns about Huo Sining’s safety, paying no attention to anything else.

On the other side, Huo Sining had no idea about the commotion she had caused. She had been dragged out of the black scarf by a Uyghur merchant only to discover she was in a cave.

The cave was in shambles, its surroundings propped up by sparse pieces of wood. There was an opening in the ceiling, like a skylight, letting in a ray of sunlight. Besides that spot, the rest of the cave was dimly lit.

Huo Sining didn’t know where she was, but she could tell by the look in her captors’ eyes that something was off—as if they were looking at someone about to die.

Feeling uneasy, she wasn’t convinced that even if Ouyang Jun and the others brought the ransom, she would be truly rescued, so she could only start thinking about ways to save herself.

Although she had learned grappling and military boxing with Chen Deping during military training, single-handedly she couldn’t take on four at a time, and as a woman, Huo Sining did not believe she could dispatch a Uyghur man as easily as Su Qingqing could.

But even if she couldn’t overpower them with brute force, she still had her storage ring—the trick she used at the welcome party to put Du Yanlin into the space was quite useful.

A smile tugged at the corners of Huo Sining’s lips; noticing the two Uyghur gangsters watching her, she quickly suppressed it, pretending to be terrified and panicky.

The two gangsters failed to notice that as Huo Sining curled up, her hands bound behind her, she inexplicably held a sharp fruit knife, and was subtly sawing at the rope tied around her.

The rope around her wrists was easy enough; she only had to exert a little effort to cut through it. However, the rope binding her ankles was more difficult to deal with—she had to twist and curl up in order to bring the fruit knife to the rope.

Fearing discovery, her movements to cut the rope had to be small, and she also needed to sneak glances at the two kidnappers’ expressions and actions from time to time.

After more than an hour, she finally felt a loosening at her ankles as the rope was severed by the knife.

Huo Sining cautiously flexed her muscles and limbs to ease the numbness in her legs. Then, she turned to one of the Uyghur gangsters with a soft, pleading smile and said,

"Big brother, could you get me some water to drink? I’m really terribly thirsty."

The gangster glared coldly at Huo Sining and spat on the ground, "Quiet down! If you’re thirsty, just bear with it!"

Huo Sining, feeling indignant, retorted, "Big brother, I’m truly thirsty. Even if I’m a ’meat coupon’, you’ve got to give me some water to drink, right? My companions are still preparing your ransom after all. Surely you aren’t so stingy as to deny me a sip of water, are you?"

The gangster was about to curse back when another gangster pulled him aside and said with a laugh in Uighur,

"Why lose your temper? Soon she’ll be sent to meet Ala. Giving her a drink of water before hitting the road isn’t too much trouble. Go get her a bottle of water."

The Uyghur gangster snorted, "You Han people are such a hassle!"

With that, he turned and reluctantly headed outside the cave, leaving the remaining gangster to close his eyes and rest against the cave wall.

Huo Sining’s heart leapt with joy; she knew her opportunity had arrived. She stood up swiftly and charged over like a bolt of lightning.

The gangster, hearing the commotion, instantly sensed danger. Just as he was about to shout, Huo Sining grabbed his wrist. In the blink of an eye, a living person had vanished into thin air.

"Hehe, that’s one taken care of!" Huo Sining grinned triumphantly but knew celebrating too soon was unwise. There were still three more people outside for her to deal with.

Footsteps soon echoed from outside the cave; the gangster who went to fetch water was returning.

In a frantic rush, Huo Sining hid near the cave entrance, against the wall. As the gangster approached the cave, unsuspecting, she swiftly seized his shoulder from behind and rapidly transported him into the stillness of the storage ring.

After dealing with two people, Huo Sining breathed a slight sigh of relief, preparing to repeat her method, when she suddenly heard the Uyghur merchant outside receive a phone call.

"They’ve arrived? Good, I’ll lead my men out now!"

Before Huo Sining could react, the two men outside started walking toward the cave, causing her to panic.

Damn it! Huo Sining’s face turned ashen!

Her trick could only take someone by surprise once. If seen by others, her space ability would be exposed.

However, with the two gangsters walking in one after the other, it was impossible to simultaneously pull both into the storage ring.

In her urgency, Huo Sining´s hands fumbled frantically as she reached into the storage ring and pulled out something in her panic.

Seeing the object in hand, her eyes lit up as she thought of a plan, and the corner of her mouth curled into a sly smirk.
