Reborn as Mr.CEO’s Fat Wife
Chapter 627: She Has a Pair of Eyes Like Her Grandfather.

Chapter 627: Chapter 627: She Has a Pair of Eyes Like Her Grandfather.

The next day when Abigail Green woke up, her voice was hoarse.

Angrily, she almost wanted to strangle the man beside her. But when she saw that flawless, handsome face and the smirk on his lips, she sighed softly.

Forget it. To die under the peach blossom tree, at least it would be a romantic death.

She had just finished sighing to herself when she met the man’s smiling eyes. His amber, narrow eyes looked at her tenderly. "Abigail..."

Abigail, "..." What happened to the agreement? What about being sickly?

Huff!

Abigail took a deep breath. "Don’t call me that. Spare your life."

"Ha." Looking at Abigail’s face without the will to live, Brandon Piers couldn’t help but laugh. He pecked her cheek lightly. "Why is our Abigail so cute?"

"No, I’m not cute. Please spare me," Abigail said, afraid that saying anything wrong would provoke this wolf again.

"Heh, your body needs proper exercise. Once we’re back, I’ll set up a new exercise plan for you," Brandon suggested with a mischievous smile, looking at the exhausted Abigail.

Abigail, "... Can I refuse?"

She was perfectly fine. Clearly, it was his fault!

"No." Brandon’s smile grew even more wanton, his already sharply defined, handsome face now even more enticing. It had a faint spring-like allure, lazy yet seductive.

Facing this side of Brandon, Abigail’s heart skipped a beat. She could hardly imagine how she used to think he wasn’t her type when she had amnesia.

He was exactly her aesthetic type!

How could there be such a handsome, noble man in this world who liked her? She truly felt blessed by the heavens.

Brandon noticed the woman’s staring eyes and raised his brow slightly. "Your look says you want to eat me up."

Abigail snapped back to reality, first letting out a startled sound, then guiltily said, "I don’t."

"Your eyes can’t fool me!" Brandon wasn’t listening to Abigail’s denial.

Abigail huffed, "What’s wrong with my eyes?"

"They look just like that," Brandon mimicked Abigail’s expression. In truth, he didn’t need to mimic, as his gaze when looking at Abigail wasn’t much different.

Meeting Brandon’s intense gaze, Abigail’s face blushed deeply. Was this the expression she had when looking at Brandon earlier?

No way!

While she thought "no way," the images from last night kept popping into her head. She shamefully covered Brandon’s eyes with her hand. "Stop looking. We have an appointment with Daniel to go to the hospital today. Did you forget?"

"I didn’t forget. So how long do you plan to cover my eyes?" Brandon said, pressing her delicate fingers.

Abigail glared at him angrily, then pinched his handsome face with her other hand before rolling out of bed and rushing into the bathroom.

"Heh heh..." Brandon’s eyes opened just in time to see Abigail fleeing in embarrassment. His laughter grew louder.

Abigail quickened her steps upon hearing his laughter, only to hear Brandon’s reminder from behind, "Slow down. Be careful not to trip."

Bang!

The response was the sound of the door slamming shut.

Brandon laughed even harder.

By the time the two of them were ready and had breakfast, it was already ten o’clock when they got to the hospital.

Daniel had been waiting early. After the obligatory small talk, he got straight to the point. "I have already informed the doctor. Miss Green, we need your help shortly."

"I will do my best." The light mood earlier that morning because of the man beside her became heavy again due to Daniel’s words.

"Thank you." Daniel expressed his sincere gratitude. Regardless of the situation, as long as Abigail was willing to help him, he was deeply thankful.

Brandon squeezed Abigail’s hand. "If it doesn’t go well, don’t push yourself."

Daniel was concerned about his mother, while Brandon only cared about his woman.

Abigail understood and squeezed Brandon’s palm in return. "I understand."

Daniel didn’t mind their exchange. He understood Brandon’s concerns.

Once everything was ready, Abigail followed Daniel into Greta’s hospital room.

Abigail had stayed in this hospital for almost half a month and knew the layout well. Upon entering, she didn’t see the patient first, but rather the doctor in charge of hypnosis.

It happened to be Doctor Curme, who Abigail had met last time. She instinctively looked at Daniel.

Daniel explained softly, "Doctor Curme will assist my mother in entering the dream state. The effects of the medication are not very stable."

Abigail understood this point, nodded, and looked at the person on the bed. She couldn’t see the face clearly because of the curtain, only that it was a very thin woman. Daniel had mentioned that although the first suicide attempt didn’t kill her, it had injured her legs, leaving her unable to walk well for years.

Abigail sighed involuntarily. Judging from Daniel’s appearance, she had imagined what his mother might look like on the way here. But now, seeing this frail, skeletal woman on the bed, she was still shocked. Something deep inside her seemed to hurt a little.

She couldn’t help but wonder if they were right to deceive this woman like this.

The woman’s lifeforce seemed extremely weak. Forcing her to stay alive could not be good for her, could it?

Various conflicting emotions churned in Abigail’s mind. At this moment, Daniel picked up the woman and placed her on a prepared recliner, then looked at the psychologist. "Doctor Curme, you can wake my mother now."

He then turned to Abigail. "Miss Green, please come closer."

Abigail nodded, stepped forward lightly, and finally saw the woman’s face clearly. To her surprise, it was an Asian face.

Just as she had imagined, the woman was very beautiful. Though aged, her face was serene and natural wrinkles did not detract from her beauty. She was just too thin, almost ethereal in a pure white linen dress, eyes closed, seeming as if she could fade away at any moment.

Abigail couldn’t reconcile the violent voice she had heard in the ward before with the woman in front of her.

Her heart tightened as she looked at the woman, feeling a sort of unexplainable familiarity that only grew stronger.

This caused Abigail to keep her gaze on the woman’s face, trying hard to figure something out, when Daniel’s soft question interrupted her thoughts. "Miss Green, are you ready?"

Pulled from her thoughts, Abigail nodded to Daniel and Doctor Curme. "I am ready."

Upon hearing her response, Doctor Curme began to use the pocket watch to awaken Greta.

Abigail listened to the familiar sound of the pocket watch ticking, her brow furrowing. Just as she felt a bit uncomfortable, the sound abruptly stopped. Daniel and Doctor Curme retreated behind the curtain. At this point, the woman in the recliner slowly opened her eyes.

Abigail was about to speak but froze. Seeing the woman’s eyes on the recliner, her heart raced uncontrollably, her hands trembling slightly.

The instant the other woman opened her eyes, Abigail saw a pair of familiar eyes. A person’s appearance could change and the body could age, but the eyes remained the same.

Those eyes were identical to the ones in an old photo she had cherished as a girl.

No, it wasn’t just the photo.

The woman’s eyes were exactly like her grandfather’s.

So Daniel’s mother, the woman called Greta, was her mother?
