Chapter 635: Chapter 635: A Dead End
Lu Zhu’s days were tough, so Zhou Xitong and Ye Chunxiao felt much better.
Ye Chunxiao had disliked Lu Zhu for quite some time.
Her family was so poor, yet she still put on airs like she had some sort of proud backbone. For whom?
Ye Chunxiao’s family was also not well-off. You’d think that would make her sympathetic, but to her, Lu Zhu was like a thorn in her side, even more detestable to her than Yue Qingqing.
It was she who took the initiative to propose framing Lu Zhu to Zhou Xitong.
Ye Chunxiao wanted to see how Lu Zhu would react when pushed to her limits, to see if she would dare to act superior and if she would have to beg others for help in the future.
Upon hearing the plan, Zhou Xitong agreed immediately. She only hated that it wasn’t Yue Qingqing who was helping.
Ye Chunxiao, always the gossip, had somehow acquired some news, "I heard that Lu Zhu might be expelled."
Zhou Xitong was tampering with her bottles and jars in their dorm room when she heard and snorted with laughter.
"Serves her right. Expulsion is the least of her worries; I want to see how she’ll come up with the money."
The old lady was adamant that the incident wouldn’t be settled for less than ten thousand yuan; otherwise, she would make sure Lu Zhu’s reputation was destroyed, coming to the school gates every day with her relatives to cause a scene.
To ensure Lu Zhu would have no peace.
Thinking about Lu Zhu’s upcoming difficulties made them both snicker, feeling like they had released some pent-up hatred.
Meanwhile, Lu Zhu returned to her dorm room from the office, sat on a chair, and stared blankly.
Her face still had two traces of blood left from the fight, making her eyes seem full of hostility.
After a moment, Lu Zhu made up her mind and took out a blade for sharpening pencils from the cabinet.
The thin blade folded inside could be easily concealed in the cuff of her sleeve, almost undetectable.
Lu Zhu closed her eyes and pondered her route.
Should she start with the hospital or Zhou Xitong and Ye Chunxiao’s dorm room?
Better start from the dormitory; there were too many people in the hospital, and once she made a move, she likely wouldn’t have a chance to return to the dormitory.
Determined, Lu Zhu stood up and pushed open the door of the dorm room.
The dim light of the evening cast a cold glow through the window at the end of the corridor, outlining Lu Zhu’s tall and thin figure.
The door to the dorm was opened, and Zhou Xitong and Ye Chunxiao abruptly turned their gaze toward the entrance.
Lu Zhu stood against the light.
"Are you sick?" Zhou Xitong cursed vehemently, "You have no manners, don’t you know to knock?"
Ye Chunxiao, observing Lu Zhu’s expression, felt something was off.
"You guys clearly saw it at that time," Lu Zhu stepped into the dorm, her face expressionless, "It wasn’t me who bumped into the person."
Ye Chunxiao noticed something clenched in Lu Zhu’s sleeve and gave Zhou Xitong a meaningful look.
Zhou Xitong glanced at it and thought it was a recording pen, and disdainfully said, "Don’t play these tricks with me. We saw you bump into the person. Don’t think about denying it, even if the police ask me again, I’ll say the same!"
"Good, very good," Lu Zhu nodded, thinking to herself that she hoped they would keep this story when they met King Yama.
Just as Lu Zhu turned to lock the door, a hand suddenly reached in, grabbing her arm.
"I’ve been looking for you for a while, what are you doing here?"
Lu Zhu was dragged into the hallway by Yue Qingqing.
From inside, Zhou Xitong’s curses were heard, obliviously unaware that she had narrowly escaped with her life.
"What do you want with me?" Lu Zhu hung her head low, her expression unclear.
"Back to the dorm first," Yue Qingqing seemed to understand what Lu Zhu was thinking, and added, "Don’t do anything foolish; it’s not worth it."
People cornered into desperate situations often choose a path of no return.
Lu Zhu once had a promising future, and Yue Qingqing didn’t want her to ruin it over such despicable scoundrels.
After much thought, Yue Qingqing decided to intervene.
Lu Zhu followed the girl back to the dorm, and Yue Qingqing stretched out her hand.
"Give me the item."
"What?" Lu Zhu pretended to be oblivious, but her arm inexplicably stiffened and she couldn’t move it at all.
She could only watch helplessly as she was drawn closer to Yue Qingqing, who then pried her fingers open one by one to take the folding knife.
Lu Zhu stared at Yue Qingqing, "What did you do to me? No, who in the world are you?"
She suddenly remembered that Yue Qingqing had specifically told her not to leave the campus that day.
Lu Zhu broke out in a cold sweat and her gaze towards Yue Qingqing shifted.
Yue Qingqing said impatiently, "Who am I? I’m your
