Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Where’s My Head?
Rustle.
The sound of a snack bag being opened.
Yue Qingqing and Qu Ruorui walked to the doorway just in time to see Wei Rong reaching into the bag and grabbing a huge handful of chips to stuff into her mouth.
"Why do you eat every time class ends?"
"How many bags is that now?"
Wei Rong was cheerful and laughed often, always popular in the class.
The classmates joked with her, albeit surprised glances at the snack bag in her hands.
Wei Rong ignored them, tilting her head back and pouring the remaining chips from the bag into her mouth.
She appeared to need little chewing, her mouth seemingly connected to an endless abyss.
In an instant, another bag of chips was gone.
Wei Rong burped and then tore open a bag of shrimp sticks, repeating the process.
In just half a minute, the newly opened snack bag was empty again.
Qu Ruorui exclaimed, "Rongrong has really been eating a lot lately."
Jun Feifei happened to walk by, saying irritably, "Isn’t it nice to eat without getting fat? I’ve been eating breakfast with Qingqing recently and gained two kilograms."
Qu Ruorui bashfully said, "I weighed myself last night and have gained some weight too."
Yue Qingqing walked into the classroom without a word, and Wei Rong finally put the bag down and stopped eating for a moment.
"You’re here, just wait for me, I haven’t cleaned up yet." Wei Rong somewhat embarrassedly took out the entirely empty snack bags from her desk and threw them into the garbage bin at the back of the classroom.
Grabbing handfuls, a rough count made it more than ten bags.
"Rongrong, have you weighed yourself recently?" Yue Qingqing suddenly asked.
"Yes, I have," Wei Rong replied while stomping the garbage bin tightly to finally fit all the bags in.
"And?"
Wei Rong chuckled, "Seems like I lost two kilograms. My mom even joked that I’m starting to waste food, eating so much without getting fat."
Eating so much without getting fat?
Yue Qingqing remembered that Wei Rong’s most frequent visits after class were to the snack stand, and every day her family brought her lots of snacks.
How much would she need to eat?
Yue Qingqing pondered over this question, staying silent on her walk home.
Was it a Curse Technique or a parasitic worm?
Or was she just overreacting?
Yue Qingqing wasn’t sure and was nonchalant after reaching home.
Yue Xiaohu and Yue Xingxing arrived home after a while too.
"Sister Qingqing, what are you daydreaming about?"
Xiaohu leaned in, looking down at the messy writings in Yue Qingqing’s notebook.
"Excessive appetite, weight, puberty."
Xiaohu was puzzled.
"What’s all this?"
"It’s nothing." Yue Qingqing casually flipped the notebook over and placed it upside down on the table.
Xiaohu, not particularly curious, asked no further and turned to resume the earlier conversation with Yue Xingxing.
"Isn’t it funny? Now when classmates see him, they intentionally mimic him, asking if he has found his head."
Yue Xingxing couldn’t help but laugh, "You kids are too funny."
"What kids? We’re just one grade lower than you."
"Still little kids." Yue Xingxing dropped her schoolbag and giggled, moving next to Yue Qingqing.
"Xiaohu just said there’s a hilarious kid in their class. Yesterday, in the middle of the lesson, the kid suddenly stood up, even startling the teacher."
"The teacher asked, ’Do you have a problem? Didn’t you understand that last problem?’ And then..."
Yue Xingxing was too amused to continue, and Xiaohu took over.
Imitating the boy, he placed his hands on his shoulders, seemingly touching something in the air.
"He said, ’Where’s my head? Has anyone seen my head... My head is gone...’"
