Chapter 96: 96: Soul Sickness

Ash crossed both arms before his chest. ’What that thick-bearded old man carried some facts. I can’t argue, strong economic interest is the key to controlling the masses, and bringing fortune from faraway regions.

"Eh, you got the point, senior..."

"Name’s Jie Rong, a Jade Alchemist. An old friend of Master Feng Bo here, Young Lord."

"Thank you for giving me insightful knowledge, Senior."

Jie Rong chuckled heartily. "It’s so rare to find a young man who still has some modicum of respect these days."

"Surely you jest, Senior Jia Rong. I am just a newcomer brat who just started a hospitality business."

Every man in the room, including Feng Bo, perked up when they heard the young man mention his new business endeavor. It’s already a public’s secret that this very young man in crimson robe bought the elves with extravagant prices through the auction.

Granted, they immediately connected the dots without him even telling what kind of business that he started lately.

"Speaking of which, today is the grand opening of your Phoenix Inn, correct?" Jia Rong said. "Hohoho! I’ve heard a lot from my colleagues about the Inn. Once I’m done with this prick, I’ll pay a visit to your Inn."

"I am humbled..." Ash lowered his head. "Now that everything is under control, I would like to take my leave. I still have some business that needs to be attended to."

"En. Sure, sure... don’t let these old trees delay you any longer. Go along then."

After cupping his fists for the last time, Ash opted to leave the colosseum. Subsequently, Zhou Rui followed suit just when he stepped out of the main gate.

She was gasping after running around just to find him. Her breath was racing. "Ah! Ah! Finally, I found you!"

Ash halted his steps, looking at her. "Are you okay, Rui’er?"

"Yes, I’m fine..." She gradually regained her composure after regulating her Qi. "Fyuhhh! How’s Ma Yuan? Is he dead already?"

"He’s alive. But not for long. That old fox, Feng Bo, had already capitalized everything. Soon enough, the market in the Long River would change significantly. Huh! Tomorrow, the news about the downfall of Ma Yuan will spread out like wildfire throughout the region! I’m sure of it!"

"But, you must be wary of Ma Yuan’s first son though. That guy is bad news!" Zhou Rui grabbed his hand.

"Please elaborate."

"His name is Ma Long, unlike his Father and younger brothers, Ma Long possessed not just one, but two innate Martial Skill! One is Heavenly Stampede, and the other one is still unknown to this day. However, many rumors stated that he was a part of a Demonic Sect!"

This made Ash think about his attributes, stats, and skills. ’Is it rare for someone to have two innate Martial Skill in this realm? If so, why do I have so many skills at my disposal?’

"Demonic Sect, huh? That’s something that I rarely hear in the city. I might need to study this topic later."

"You really should, Young Lord. The Demonic Sect beyond the North Wall might not pose a threat right now. But, no one knows when or how they would wage a war against us."

Ash suddenly feels a slight headache. The previous fight really took a toll on his body. Gradually, his view was spinning around, and lost his balance.

"Young Lord?! Are you okay?"

Ash spat out a mouthful of blood. ’Damn it! Even my innate regeneration couldn’t keep up with the ongoing damage!’

"Oh no! This is bad! What should I do, what should I do?!" Zhou Rui panicked.

However, not even a minute later, Zhu Yan and Guoqiang supported Ash’s body by lifting his arms across their shoulders.

"Young Lord...." Zhu Yan said attentively.

"Yeah, I’m fine. Just bring me to Lady Yunxian."

"Understood!"

Before they jumped and fly away, Ash turned to Zhou Rui, and then he said, "I will be waiting for you at the Inn."

"En! I will get there as fast as I can!"

Before long, the Inn was visible from above as they approached. Since the courtyard was full of guests, Ash ordered the two to put him in the backyard.

Effectively, Elara who happened to be supervising the elven ladies, noticed Ash’s arrival. When Elara saw a streak of blood on the corner of his lips, she quickly put on her sandals and ran toward him, hugging him tightly.

"Master! Are you hurt?!"

"Ssh, lower your voice. You’ll scare the guests. More importantly, go get Yunxian. I will be waiting in my bedroom."

"Understood, Master!"

With that said, Ash was immediately brought to his room by Zhu Yan and Guoqiang. Though the other elven ladies were worried about his current state, Ash sternly warned them to focus on their duty.

"If you have time to ask what happened to me, then you better use your hands to do your job. Go along now, the guests are waiting."

"Yes, Master!" They answered in unison.

At long last, Ash could finally lay down in his bed. Before he knew it, the fever suddenly spiked as if there was a foreign energy that was messing with his meridian. Soonly after, Yunxian barged into his room, bringing her medical kit to examine him.

"Young Lord, talk to me."

"Oh, hey there, Yunxian. You are as beautiful as I remember when I first met you, hehehe."

Yunxian immediately recognized the symptoms.

"This is no ordinary illness... How did you get this? Who did you fight with?!"

"Urrg, I fought with Ma Yuan. What happened to me? Why is my body scorchingly hot?"

"No way, this is Soul Sickness!"

"Take off your clothes, now!" Yunxian took off his clothes right away. "Elara, Sylphy! Come up here!"

Notwithstanding the situation of the Inn, Elara ran upstairs after apologizing to the guests.

"What do you need, my lady." Elara clenched her fists together.

"I need you to tether your Yin Qi into his body." Yunxian replied.

"But, we don’t know how!"

"Just trust your instinct, and follow my lead!"
