Chapter 77: Phoenix Inn
Chapter 77: 77: Phoenix Inn
By the time he emerged from Huxian’s domain in his human form, unknowingly, he had stepped into the main living room which was being cleaned by the elves. Ash couldn’t believe his eyes as he saw the Villa was already fully restored.
The beams, pillars, and even the window frames were all repainted in lively and bright red. Meanwhile, the ornaments were lacquered with real gold which enunciated the prestige and luxury of the place.
"What is happening here?"Ash announced his presence as he spoke, evoking a collective yelp from the five elves who were tidying up the living room.
One of the elves fainted right away when his residual aura accidentally hit her chest. Luckily, Ash quickly suppressed his Qi even further and caught the falling elf in his grasp.
To other cultivators, his Qi Energy appeared to be a 4th Stage Body Transformation Realm by now, not too significant at a first glance. However, even an aura from a 1st Stage Body Transformation Realm was enough to blow these delicate elves right away like leaves in autumn.
"Are you alright?" Ash spoke softly. Looking at the green haired elf. Her eyes were sparkly like freshly polished jades.
"Y-yes, my lord. I am sorry..."
"You shouldn’t be. It was my mistake." Ash helped her to stand up. "What’s your name?"
"It’s Sylphy, my lord."
Ash looked into her eyes gently while caressing her cheek bones.
Little did she know, Ash deliberately experimented with the elf by infusing a very small amount of Wood Mana. After a short pause, she replied amicably, the color of her face now had returned. She was tinged with rosiness as she smelled the woody scent from him. It really reminded her of home.
"My lord, what was that..."
"Sssshhh..." Ash winked an eye while putting an index finger before his mouth. "It’s our little secret."
Hearing the commotion in the living room, Elara, Yunxian, and even the seamstress, Zhou Rui, left whatever they were doing and headed to his direction through the corridors. Surprisingly, Yunxian immediately trotted to him, she hugged him tightly until he could feel the softness of her chest.
"By the gods! You really make me so worried!" Yunxian almost cried on his shoulder, still didn’t want to let him go just yet. "What actually happened? You just simply disappeared without a trace for a month."
"A month?!" His eyes rounded wide. "But, it feels like I was gone for a few hours."
"That’s not even make any sense, young lord. Look, how many incense sticks that we have burnt!" Yunxian pointed at the steel cauldron with dozens of incense sticks. "I thought, I thought... you were really dead and were spirited away by the guardians of this villa."
"Now, you are the one who is saying nonsense, Miss Yunxian." Ash ran his thumb across her high cheekbones, wiping her tears. "There’s no way I would die that easily."
Yunxian peeled herself off his embrace, her face tinged with rosiness as she realized that he must have felt her chest. "Anyway... what happened to you? Where have you been for the past month?"
"Ah, I will fill you in later when the time is right." Ash tapped her shoulder gently. "More importantly, what are you guys doing with the villa?"
Zhou Rui chimed merrily. "We are going to open an inn for the elves and perhaps, the other non-human workers as well!"
A ladylike chuckle resounded from Elara’s person. "Let us talk about this over a cup of tea. You must be tired from your long journey."
Ash couldn’t agree more. He was indeed feeling the choking thirst.
At the dining room, Yunxian stated that this villa was already bought under his name as the rightful owner. However, Yunxian was very clever to put her name as the custodian of this villa should he was away from the city.
As the paperwork has been completed and there’s no legal issues, She wanted to renovate this villa into an inn like it used to a couple decades ago which would be run and managed by the elves. Elara, as the Queen as well as their mother figure, agreed to become the proprietress of the inn so her daughters could live independently.
As of now, Elara and the other nine elves would take care of the inn and other related businesses such as selling medicines, beauty products and whatnot. On the other hand, the other five elves had decided to pursue their career as physicians under Yunxian’s tutelage.
Again, Ash felt indebted to Huxian for taking care of everything when he was gone. "Thank you, Miss Yunxian. What would I become without your kindness."
"Fufufu, it’s given, young lord. Besides, my clinic has become more popular since I became acquainted with you. Truth to be told, I also need more capable hands to help me manage the clinic. If this trend continues, I will be able to expand my clinic and it will become a fully fledged hospital by the end of the year."
Ash listened carefully until she finished talking. "I see... however, why an inn?"
Zhou Rui then explained the reason behind this idea. "Young Lord, I do believe that you acknowledge the Martial Tournament in this city to determine who is the next mayor, yes?"
"Uh-huh..." Ash sipped his tea casually.
"Then, you must be aware of the massive business opportunity during the event. Better yet, you could also partake in the tournament and raise your fame while at it!" Zhou Rui leaned her body forward.
Yunxian pulled her back into the seat before she spilled the tea pot. "With that said, you will gain more resources and connections from the people who are rooting for you. But of course, we won’t force you to do our bids."
Ash scratched his chin for a while as he weighed his decision. "I’m not gonna lie, I do want to participate. However, I am also concerned about Elara and the others’ safety. I don’t want to leave them without protection."
"I knew you would say that, Young Lord." Yunxian smiled impishly. "Have you forgotten what Uncle Yigao said to you by the time he accepted you as his Grand Disciple."
"Erm..." Ash rolled his eyes upward. "Ah, Core Disciples and Inner Disciples are mine to command."
