Chapter 36: Flower Field
Chapter 36: 36: Flower Field
By the time he was cultivating within the Divine Yin Yang Dao Formation Array, Ash absorbed thousands of Pure Yang Qi straight from the Spirit Vein which was provided by the Ancient Tree and from the Ephemeral Flame Rose flower. Although they couldn’t communicate verbally like normal beings, Ash somehow could understand its intent by just glancing at the sways of its foliage.
In this cruel dog-eat-dog world, strength, wealth, and influence became the ruling factors whether somebody would survive for another day, or die miserably.
Hunting, defeating, and usurping another Immortal Beasts’ territory and wealth would be his main objective when the army of wolves was established.
Although Ash felt that his strength was far stronger than any beats in the area, Ash didn’t get complacent. He was aware that the Eastern Region and Southern Region was boundlessly vast, hundreds if not thousands of sleeping dragons and crouching tiger that sprawled the land were yet still to be discovered.
’My current strength is not nearly enough to go against Cultivators. Although I could easily defeat the weaklings who dared to step into my territory, I couldn’t just dispatch them like a cow. What if a stronger Cultivator suddenly appeared from nowhere and aimed for my neck?!’
’No, killing insensibly is not the answer. I must not be blinded by rage. There’s no permanent enemies, nor permanent alliances. Only permanent interest. If there’s a Martial Sect who has a goal to go against the heavens, then I must infiltrate that Sect and usurp their fortune!’
One major difference between Beasts and Cultivators was; technology, knowledge and culture.
In the world of Immortal Beasts, cultivating by using Formation Array was a rare thing to do since no beast is able to comprehend the complexity of a Formation Array. Meanwhile, Cultivators used Formation Array to boost the effectiveness of their meditation by a hundred fold on a daily basis. Not only for meditation, they also have developed various types of formation arrays for many things to make their lives more convenient. Such as cooking, refining pills, and whatnot.
Apart from that, their weapons and divine artefacts had been the main issue for many Immortal Beast to defeat Cultivators. Although Cultivators do not necessarily care toward each other, they still value the commerce relationship and will pursue their desire to create stronger, and fiercer weapons, cultivation, and keep advancing year after year.
On the other hand, Immortal Beast was very lacking in versatility, most of Immortal Beasts were just so stubborn and so prideful which resulted in their demise in the hands of Cultivators who hunted in group.
Ash breathed out the impurities that had been accumulated in his body as a puff of dark smoke.
"Congratulations on your advancement, My Lord." The ever so soft-spoken Yue Yin leaned onto his shoulder, smiling gently. She had already shifted back to her wolf form as to protect him during his meditation.
Ash awakened while being bewildered by what had happened. As his sight had returned fully, the once vibrant flower had become even more colourful. Various flowers
"What just happened here?"
"I’m not sure. However, it seems like the seeds that had been lying dormant in the soil were nurtured by your abundant Yang Qi, my lord. That’s my best explanation thus far."
"That’s so absurd. What kind of coincidence is this?" Ash rose from his position, sending his gaze to the surroundings. Shanguang and the young wolves were still meditating solemnly, absorbing the abundant Yang Qi.
"There’s no need to overthink it, my lord. In this realm, not everything can be explained perfectly with logic."
"Right..."
Looking at his complexed face, Yue Yin knew that there’s something in his mind. "Why with the long face?"
"I have been thinking about learning Martial Arts that is fashioned for Cultivators. I have seen how terrifying their Martial Art could be, and how vicious and merciless they were. Therefore, by learning their secrets, we would have a better chance to fight them off should they come here to invade us."
Yue Yin lowered her gaze, she then looked to the west. "You do understand the risk, I presume? Those cultivators would hunt you till the very end of this realm once they find out your true nature."
"I do know it very well. However, there’ll be no glory without risk. I will be very careful."
From the moment he said it, Yue Yin knew that there’s no one who could stop him, even herself. Furthermore, she was aware about the fate that he must carry on his shoulders.
"Twenty months." Yue Yin quipped. "I would be very angry if you weren’t home when I delivered my puppies without their father. During that time, you may entrust the Southern Region to me."
Ash immediately froze in place. He almost forgot that Yue Yin was already pregnant.
"Sorry for the trouble, Yue Yin. I will come back here even before that. I promise!"
"However..." Yue Yin stared at him deeply. "You must bring Sister Ye Yinghui and Shanguang with you. That would be my only request."
"En! I understand, Yue’er."
"When will you go? I will prepare the provisions for you."
Ash glanced toward Shanguang who was still meditating. "I will depart once Shanguang and Ye Yinghui finish with what they are doing."
"Very well..."
"Before I go... emm, may I, err, you know..."
Yue Yin chuckled at his clumsy face. She knew very well what he needed the most.
"No need to be very courteous about it, My Lord. You may ask it whenever you like it while I am still able to fulfill your needs. It’s already my duty and also my privilege after all."
Notwithstanding where they were, Ash opted to bring Yue Yin deeper to the forest and found a pristine lake. Ash couldn’t hold his urge any longer by the time Yue Yin transformed into her human form, walking into the lake without a strand of silk attached to her body....

A couple days later, Ash and his two tamed beasts were ready to depart toward the western region where countless Martial Sects stood strong amidst the vast landscape.
"Where are we going, Master?" Shanguang asked.
"Western Region." Ash replied curtly.
