The lesser beasts whose strength was below Spirit Rank, were hesitant to attack him due to the hidden sinister killing intent from the young man’s person. However, the Spirit Rank beasts forced the lesser beasts to charge at him.

Sensing the imminent threat, Ash opted to jump high, and perched on a tree’s branch while studying his prey.

’Hundreds of Sky Rank Wood Lizards, dozens of Star Rank Iron Beatles, and five Spirit Rank Earth Serpent! There will be no end if I have to fight them all. I need to cut off the snake’s heads first!"

"Azure Finch!"

At his command, the bluish sword summoned the grueling [Snow Blizzard], obscuring the views of the surroundings.

Though it didn’t do much damage against the immortal beasts due to the insufficient physical damage, Azure Finch’s active skill managed to slow down their movements significantly.

Capitalising this window of opportunity, Ash brandished Nightflame in his right hand. The Pure Yang Qi heated the middle area, creating a low pressure air. The combination between hot and cold air soon created a powerful tornado that could uproot a huge tree as if it was just roadside grass.

Subsequently, the lesser beasts were airborne, and grinded by the violent tornado into blood mist! Now that the Spirit Rank Immortal Beasts were defenseless, Ash opted to summon another weapon in his arsenal; [99 Feathered Arrows. When he combined the arrows with his [Feather Sword Gather Array], a hail of rain rained upon the serpent beasts!

All arrows that he summoned found their targets without fail. Furthermore, each arrow was imbued with his Primordial Qi, once they hit, the target’s flesh would be scorched into crisp.

Notwithstanding the gruesome damage on their body, the serpents slithered away, looking for a shelter while their body were still burning.

"Hmph! Like hell I’d let you all escape from my grasp! Nightflame, Azure Finch! After them!"

After he commanded the two swords, each was homing into the serpent beasts, hunting them like a bunch of rats!

Before long, Nightflame and Azure Finch managed to kill three out of five Earth Serpents consecutively.

Just before he commanded the swords to kill the rest of them, Ash opted to end the pursuit, letting them die slowly due to the wounded, scorched body.

Though it was faint, Ash could hear their heartfelt conversation.

"I’m sorry, big sister! I shouldn’t have initiated the hunt! I didn’t expect that the human was so powerful, his appearance was very deceiving!"

"Stop apologizing and move your belly!" The older Earth Serpent rebuked. "Before that man caught up with us."

To their surprise, Ash was literally behind their tails. He rides on Nightflame’s blade, following them from the air. After tailing them for hours, the twin Earth Serpents opted to recuperate by drinking water from a huge lake whose water was so pristine. The surface was so calm, it reflected the starry night above just like one massive mirror.

By the time Ash acknowledged that the serpents had lowered their guards, he recalled the arrows, causing the two beasts to bleed profusely.

Though they could flee and dive into the lake, the serpents were reluctant. They chose to stand their ground against the monster in the shape of a young man.

"Now, should we end this, ladies?" Ash said confidently while standing in the air. "Though I would like to offer both of you a deal; Death by my swords, or serve me, no in between. Pledge your loyalty, and I shall let you two live, and thrive."

"We will never become a slave to a human!" The older serpent beast snarled back at him.

Ash smirked. "What if I say I’m not a human?"

"Liar!"

Slowly, Ash unleashes his aura in a full display, disclosing his true nature as a Heavenly Phoenix!

"This human form is but a mirage. A mask to hide my true identity."

The younger serpent beast was perplexed. She couldn’t believe her eyes upon seeing the young man’s signature presence. Though his appearance resembled that of a human, his aura resembled a higher being that came from outside the Immortal Beast Realm.

Soon after, Ash decided to lower his Qi pressure. There’s no point killing two helpless beasts when they already lost their fighting spirit. Besides, he already got what he was looking for; EXP for his swords and valuable raw materials from the beasts that he slew.

"Man, look at this view!" Ash whistled, amazed. "I wish Shanguang and Yinghui were here to see this."

The two serpents were bemused. However, they didn’t dare to approach him and were still very cautious.

Concerned about their wounds, Ash took out the Immortal Herb from his Storage Ring.

"Be careful, sister. It must be laced with poison!" The older serpent pulled her little sister with her tail.

"Oh, come on..." Ash was so exasperated. He then opted to munch on the grass to prove to them that it was not poisonous. "See? It’s perfectly fine! I have no intention to kill both of you. Just think of this as my apologies for playing too hard with you all. But, if you still insist on preying on me, I will skewer both of you from mouth to tell as my late night snacks!"

Acknowledging that their lives were at his mercy, the twin serpent beasts ate the grass, regenerating their wounds albeit slowly.

While waiting for them to recover, Ash was having conversations with the Queen of Mermaids who were currently residing in his Beast-Taming Space.

"Lady Bai Qiulian, how about this fresh water lake? Although it is not as hot as the volcanic hot spring, the location is very remote and protected by the barrier formation."

The Queen of Mermaid soon awakened from her slumber. "How about the other predatory beasts? Though I possess the power to claim this lake by force, I don’t want to disturb the order and balance of this place."

"Right..." Ash pondered for a moment. "Fine, let me talk with the aquatic beasts who dwell in this lake."

The moment he opened his eyes, he found the twin serpent beasts were fully healed.

The older serpent beast bowed deeply until her snout touched the ground. In the world of Immortal Beasts, this gesture shows the undisputed allegiance and servitude.

Ash waved his hands dismissively. Their past had nothing to do with his intention for coming to this forbidden forest.

"Let’s talk about that issue later. As of now, I need you two to tell me; who is the most prominent inhabitant of this lake? I"ll have a word with them. " Ash pointed at the water.

Granted, Bai Xurou, the older sister, was horrified. Even the strongest beast in this region wouldn’t dare to mention its name, let alone wanting an audience with that monster!
