Chapter 116: 116: Reunion With Her Daughter
Before long, Ash entered the pavilion and arrived at the main hall.
The double doors swung wide open without any command from anyone. It was opened by Tang Yigao’s mind.
On the other side of the gate, Tang Yigao had been waiting on the porch. Folding his hand across his chest.
Ash hastened his step to meet with his new master.
"Greetings, Shifu." Ash bowed and cupped his fist.
"Hmm." Tang Yigao nodded. "Took you long enough to reach here."
"Apologize, Shifu. There were some mercenaries who causing troubles. But, I swiftly deal with them. No trace."
"I see. Hahaha! That’s what I’m talking about. Anyway, let’s get inside, I will show you your room."
Surprisingly enough, the interior of the pavilion was quite normal for a venerable person like Tang Yigao.
Strangely enough, despite being surrounded by lush vegetation, the pavilion was well maintained. Two storey high with dozens of rooms. The corridor was lit up by a series of candle lamps.
This made Ash think inwardly. "It seems like there’s no other person here. Did he maintain the whole pavilion by himself? What an antique old man."
After a short walk, they arrived at Ash’s bedroom.
"This is your bedroom. Have some rest and we will start the training in the morning. I will wait at the training hall."
"Yes, Shifu."
Tang Yigao strode his way just like that to his own living quarters at the center building of the pavilion .
The room was not too shabby either. Decent size bed, comfy pillow and blanket, a cupboard to store his clothes and a desk.
Lying down on the bed, Ash reminisced his resolve upon agreeing to be reincarnated in this world.
Eternal Life.
That’s his ultimate goal in this second life. And he will use any methods to achieve it!
For him who had seen both heaven and hell, there’s no good or evil. There’s only power!
The reason why Ash agreed to become Tang Yigao’s Inner Disciple was quite simple.
There’s no better way to gain power other than obtaining it from someone who already had the great power.
"If I can shed his blood that’s worth more than billions of people, I can level up Nightflame to its peak strength and power! It might take years if not decades to achieve it, but Eternal Life is what I am aiming for. This is nothing but a small bump in this life!"
Without even noticing, Ash was asleep soundly as if being lulled by his own dream.
Early in the morning, he was awakened by the smell of a delicious breakfast.
When he looked on the side, a kettle of warm tea was already being prepared along with the cup at his desk.
A bucket of warm water and a towel were already on the floor for Ash to wash himself.
"Who prepared all of these?" Ash asked himself. It’s no way that Tang Yigao was this generous to provide him with such hospitality.
Coming down to the first floor, Ash could hear a clatter in the kitchen. Someone is cooking breakfast.
Out of his curiosity, Ash went straight to the kitchen.
He slowly peeked through slightly agape door, and saw Yunxian was stirring the pot happily and humming merrily as she cooks the breakfast.
Yunxian yelped when Ash accidentally nudged a the door till the hinges produced rickety sounds. She almost dropped the pot.
Ash was even surprised when he recognized her face.
"Yunxian?!"
"Geez! Could you knock first? Don’t surprise like that!"
"I’m sorry..." Ash smiled wryly.
"Go head upstair, and wait for the breakfast.

Although Ash was promoted as the Grand Disciple, he didn’t skip the morning training session with the other disciple. He might outrank others, but he opted to give them some respect by learning their routine. It began with the most basic technique in cultivation: Yin Yang Breathing Technique.
After finishing his business in the loo, cleaning himself, and wearing new, fresh clothes, Ash headed to the Training Hall. Cultivation Caves were built inside the Training Hall. Each door was named after the corresponding disciple.
He solemnly walked into his personal cultivation cave which was assigned to him specifically.
The other Core Disciples also did the same, but in a smaller cultivation cave compared to his.
"Draw the Yin Yang Taiji Formation on the floor and sit in lotus position."
"Yes, Grand Elder." Replied the Core Disciples in unison.
To his surprise, the law that applied in this cultivation cave was not so much different than what he had practiced. The reality inside this Taiji Formation was governed by the Yin and Yang Qi. Two contradicting forces that support each other.
The only difference was, the Qi inside the Taiji Formation was much denser. It felt as if he was swimming in an ocean.
"This is incredible! I only need ten minutes to collect ten strands of Yang Qi into my body and condensed it into my dantian. If use this method, I can cultivate much faster inside Huxian’s Domain."
However, Ash’ rapid advancement catered the jealousy from his peers. Notwithstanding the adversity, Ash gathered the surrounding Yang Qi in the air. As he focused his mind, Ash had gathered the Yang Qi ten times faster than the others, and he would only need one minute in order to weave one strand of Yang Qi.
As he opened his eyes, the sweat and all kinds of impurities were pooAsh around him. Little did he know, he had been meditating for twenty four hours full, without a rest and it only felt like a few hours in
"Hoho! As expected from my Grand Disciple. Your progress is very fast!"
"Not at all, Master Yigao, my progress is still really slow! Nevertheless, it’s still a progress though."
"En. I like that attitude from you. You may leave your cave and have some rest."
"En, thank you, Master."
Ash opted to end his meditation, and cleaned the room before the stench leaked outside. Once he did, he took a bath for one more time and headed to his private annex which was established just by the pavilion’s main building.
While contemplating in his head about what to do in the Final Round. Ash began to wonder. "Is it really important for me to win the tournament? If I emerged as the winner, the people would come to me day and night. Though a lot of sponsorship is good for my business, I want to be free, to explore this boundless realm."
As his thoughts wander around, a light knock resounded on the door. Yunxian’s cute voice was muffled from the other side. "Young Lord? Are you awake? If so, let’s come down and have dinner together."
"En. I’ll head downstairs briefly."
Ash ended his meditation, cleaned his room and changed into fresh clothes. While looking in the mirror, Ash felt like he was still in a very long dream. Everything that he experienced was still so surreal to begin with.
’I need to get stronger! And avenge Uncle Tienxing’s death!"
Setting the internal grudge aside, Ash finally sat at the dining table, accompanied by Yunxian and Tang Yigao. He was so moved to see a bowl of congee, and stir fried veggies on the table. It reminds him how Huxian would cook him a breakfast.
Groowll...
Ash blushed, he couldn’t hide his appetite. For the past week, he was finally able to eat solid food.
"Thank you... Miss Yunxian, Tang Yigao. I will surely repay your kindness!"
"Haiyaa..." Tang Yigao shook his head. "Enough with your words of gratitude. Sit down, and finish your bowl while it’s still warm.
"En!"
After finishing his meal with gusto, Ash’s face turned serious. "Miss Yunxian, may I ask something?"
"Yes?"
"Truth to be told, I don’t want to burden you two any longer than this. Tomorrow, I will start training on my own. Besides, there’s something that I want to try, yet it might be very dangerous for others."
Tang Yigao caressed his long, white beard. And then spoke gently. "Head to the treasury room, and ask Elder Hung for the entrance token into the Forbidden Jungle. Inside, you may wreak havoc to your heart’s content. But remember, the Immortal Beast’s are very dangerous!"
"Really?!"
"En... But, he’s quite a stubborn man, you’ll need to convince him first."
"...." Ash was asking the way by glancing at Tang Yigao.
"Eh, you’ll know once you meet him." Tang Yigao finished his bowl, and rose to his feet. "I will check on Meilan’er. Yunxian, come with me."
"Y-yes, uncle."
While Ash was heading toward the Treasure Hall, Yunxian and her uncle went to another bigger pavilion within the Tang Sect’s housing complex.
Inside a serene, and lustrous garden, a young lady wearing a white hanfu robe was sitting by a pool, feeding the fishes with bread’s crumble. Her face was pale white, she appeared ghostly, one could mistook her as a spirit instead.
Meilan heard a rustle behind her, she was so elated to see Yunxian. She completely ignored her grandfather.
"Aunty Yunxian! It’s been so long! I miss you so much!"
"I miss you too, Meilan. How you feel today!"
"En! I feel stronger than ever! Thanks to the Infernal Worm’s Heart transplant, my body is recovering much faster!"
"I am so glad to hear that. Meilan."
