Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army! -
Chapter 1391 - 1391: "Reviving" The Dead Students
-----
Maria chased after Katherine's soul, finding her at long last, but seeing as she was being slowly consumed by this darkness, a bizarre phenomenon that she only realized existed right now. Somehow, after gaining her Nightmare Power, she was able to see things she couldn't quite see before, such as this.
This only meant one thing, this darkness that consumed the souls of dead people was related to the Nightmares in one way or another, and it might even be related to the "Original Curse" that is the origin of Nightmares themselves!
"KATHERINE!"
Maria had no time to think about such things anyway, as she rushed towards Katherine's soul, grasping her with her ghostly clone and then quickly… eating her!
"CHOMP."
Her ghostly clone ate her soul completely, digesting Katherine's soul.
At the same time as this happened, the darkness consuming her was eaten as well.
"I'll investigate its origins later…"
And then dividing a piece of her that was Katherine's soul, the soul of the girl appeared in the palm of her hand, looking confused.
She quickly encapsulated her inside a phantom bubble, and brought them towards the bodies…
"I will try to do something…" Maria said.
"Eh? Maria?" Sofia asked. "W-What are you talking about?"
"Huh?" Alma looked at Maria with confusion.
"Hm…?" Nyx, who was hugging her father tenderly, was also curious.
"W-What will you do?" Emily asked.
"I'll try using a technique to revive them…" Maria said. "I don't know if it'll even work, but I want to try… Please, everyone that is here, keep this a secret."
The students gathered there, most of them participants of the tournament that had befriended her and her family and friends nodded, although they were still confused about what she was even planning to do.
"Alright…"
Maria kneeled, taking out the blankets from each body, and then infusing them with Life Force, her own Life Force through Paladin's Life Sacrifice.
At the same time, she used her Biomancy and her Flesh Manipulation to infuse life back into these cells, that had only died recently.
The cells, infused with Lifeforce, began overflowing with light, their flesh was healed and brought back to life, and then multiplied, regrowing bones and lost organs through healing magic powers.
Emeraldine, Celes, and Alma stepped forward, helping Maria heal their bodies as everyone remained there in awe.
As this happened, Maria healed their souls fully, and even Eduard's damaged soul regained most of its mass at the very least.
"Now…"
She placed the souls into each of the bodies where they corresponded, and infused these souls into the bodies, raising them as "living undead" like she had done to revive Veredorr and her own brother.
"{Rise}!"
FLAAASH! FLAAASH! FLAAASH!
All three bodies overflowed with bright white and golden light, as the students in this moment witnessed a complete miracle.
The souls went back to their respective bodies, inhabiting them once more, and just like with Sofia, they revived without their Dream Hearts, although Maria infused Dream Energy into their bodies, purifying and filtering her Nightmare Energy.
This, as a result, boosted their revival chances, and also gave them the chance to develop something unique like Sofia had done.
As the light dissipated, the bodies remained still… Maria looked at them nervously, she didn't know if it worked or not. But she knew she had done her best already, if it didn't work… then it didn't.
"Come on, please…"
She started to pray to Hel herself, as Alma, Emily, and Sofia noticed her, walking to her side.
"Please… work…!"
They also started praying by her side.
Emeraldine, Nia, and Partner followed.
Then everyone else joined them.
"Please…"
"Don't let them die!"
"Please…"
"Come back…"
"Don't leave…"
As they silently prayed, Maria noticed something, the twitching of fingers, as she constantly was reanimating their hearts with her aura infused into their hearts.
Until ultimately…
BA DUM!
BA DUM!
BA DUM!
Their hearts started beating on their own!
Maria and then everyone else stepped back in awe, as they saw their eyes slowly open.
"Ugh…" Katherine groaned. "M-My chest… it hurts…"
"Haah… Mommy… where's mommy?" Ming Lee cried, a few tears falling from her eyes. "Huh?"
"Nngh…" Eduard slowly sat down, caressing his chest while looking pained. "Aah… I have such a terrible nightmare. W-where… where am I?"
Maria and the rest started crying incapable of believing this miracle. Yeah, not even Maria was sure it would work but…
Against all odds!
"E-Eduard! You idiot!" Emily ran towards Eduard, hugging him. "Did you had to die like that, dumbass?!"
"E-Eh? Emily?!" Eduard was confused. "W-What happened? Ugh! Agh, don't hug me so hard! My chest hurts you know?"
"Katherine!" Arthur ran to her side in tears. "You're fine? Are you alright?!"
"P-Pretty boy?" Katherine wondered. "My chest hurts… But I'm fine… Um, w-what happened?"
"Y-You died…" Arthur said.
"E-Eeeh?!" Katherine couldn't believe it.
"Ming Lee! Ming Lee! You're alive!" Celes ran towards Ming Lee.
"Uwah?! C-Celes?! Don't hug me out of nowhere!" Ming Lee complained, but the boy didn't move away.
Maria and her family glanced at the scene with relieved smiles on their faces.
"Alright…" Maria slowly stood up. "It is done… Everyone, we have to tell you that… you died."
"Eh?!"
"W-What?"
"That's… I did?"
They seemed to not remember if they died, it seemed they lost their lives too quickly to remember the exact moment it happened.
Maria and her friends and family explained to them how it went, and how they were revived by Maria's incredible magic that defied all odds and known understandings.
"S-So we were revived? Such a thing… you're like a god, Maria…" Muttered Eduard. "I-I can't believe it…"
"I-I died…?" Katherine cried. "Uwah… And my Dream Heart is gone?! No… W-What is going to even happen to me now?! Without it I am nothing…"
"Please Katherine, be happy you're alive! Your life is obviously much more important than just your powers…!" Arthur said.
"A-Arthur…" Katherine blushed a bit, moved by his words.
"I-I don't… get it quite well but… I'm really grateful…" Ming Lee muttered, feeling confused and a bit sad and happy at the same time.
