Chapter 34: Chapter 34: The Little Thing is Lying

Why is that little thing wearing a vest underneath? And why is it pink?

Just as he was about to take a closer look, Bella Green, who was asleep, changed her position from lying face down to lying on her back, still in a very casual posture.

The shoulder strap was covered, and Mason didn’t think much of it, instead turning his gaze to Bella Green’s cheek.

Earlier, the side of her face that had been hit was pressed against her arm, but now her whole face was exposed.

The face, which was originally red and swollen from being hit, had subsided a lot after applying ointment, yet due to sleeping, it now had lines of red marks from the pressure.

He bent down slightly, wanting to touch her swollen cheek, but suddenly, his fingertips paused.

Mason looked at the palm-sized face, realizing his actions a bit late, his brow furrowed slightly, and he slowly withdrew his hand.

Earlier he hadn’t paid attention, but now thinking about it, he had to admit he seemed overly concerned about this little thing.

Clearly, they had only known each other for twenty-four hours...

Why did he feel like they had known each other for longer than such a short time?

In fact, if he hadn’t just recalled, he almost overlooked that they’d only known each other for a day.

Within this day, he had done too many ridiculous things, made too many exceptions for the girl, which wasn’t a good sign.

However, he didn’t reject this feeling in his heart, as if these things were instinctual and had already been embedded deep in his bones.

Perhaps his gaze was too intense, and Bella Green stirred, slowly waking up, and upon opening her eyes, she saw a face inches away.

Hovering between asleep and awake, Bella Green furrowed her brow, pouting her lips, suddenly turning her back to him, and muttered in a small disgruntled voice.

"I don’t want to get up, you go out."

Mason was taken aback, hearing Bella Green’s words, and felt a strange sensation in his heart.

"Get up, it’s time to go." He suppressed the confusion in his heart, straightened up, and said coldly.

"Mason, you’ve entered my room again and are ordering me, I..."

The irritable complaint abruptly stopped.

Bella Green suddenly opened her eyes, looked at the sofa beneath her, and swiftly sat up, staring at the man standing beside the sofa, her mind buzzing, forgetting to react.

Mason’s sharp eyes squinted slightly as he looked at the small figure in front of him who appeared guilty and uneasy, he bent down, leaned close to her face, and met her eyes.

"Did we know each other before?" He stared intently into her eyes, missing no fleeting emotions.

Upon hearing this, Bella Green’s face turned white, why would he ask such a thing?

Clearly knowing that something as absurd as reincarnation couldn’t possibly be known by others, but that overly sharp gaze and inexplicable question made the freshly awakened Bella Green’s mind spin sluggishly.

She just stood there in a panic, opened her mouth, and couldn’t come up with a good response for the longest time.

"Of course not."

Bella Green suddenly raised her voice, trying to sound justified, yet nervously, her voice was shaky.

Mason looked at her indifferently, without speaking.

The little thing was lying...

Perhaps he wouldn’t have noticed any other time, but Bella Green was already feeling guilty at this moment, and coupled with just waking up, her mind was still foggy, clearly unsuitable for lying.

So, did they really know each other?

But why didn’t he have any impression of it?

He hadn’t lost any memory in the past twenty-odd years, yet in those memories, there was no trace of Bella Green’s existence.

As he scrutinized Bella Green, Bella Green also scrutinized him intently, trying to discern something from his face.

But the man’s cold and indifferent eyes seemed to be shrouded with a thin veil; no matter how hard she tried to peer in, she couldn’t see what lay beneath.
