Chapter 275: Tiffany is in Danger

It was terrifying!

Aria trembled uncontrollably, her hands clamped over her ears as she hunched forward, too afraid to look.

"Perfect timing," Calvin sidestepped the man’s attack, his mesmerizing peach-blossom eyes glinting with a chilling indifference that sent shivers down the spine.

"It’s been a while since I last stretched my limbs."

His tone was as languid as ever, but every movement radiated ruthless intent.

Outside the door, revelry and music filled the air—inside, life and death hung by a thread.

—— Meanwhile, in a private room on the eighth floor...

After a few drinks, Tiffany began to feel lightheaded.

A fire seemed to ignite inside her, burning through her veins.

She had never been drunk before and assumed this was what intoxication felt like.

Jayden watched her closely, his eyes shadowed beneath the brim of his cap as a dark glint flickered across them.

"What’s wrong?

Feeling unwell?"

Though spoken with concern, the words still made Tiffany uneasy.

"No," she replied calmly, forcing her expression to remain neutral.

"I’m just going to the restroom."

The discussion about the adaptation was practically wrapped up, and this was the perfect chance for her to slip away before Jayden could pester her further.

As for the rest, she’d leave it to Editor Jade to handle. Jayden glanced at Marie, who had already dozed off on the couch, his lips curling into a tender smile.

"Want me to come with you?"

"No need," Tiffany said quickly, suppressing a shudder as she shook her head.

"I can manage on my own."

Her body was growing increasingly warm, her cheeks burning.

Without another word, she stood and headed for the door.

Unnoticed by her, Jayden’s eyes darkened beneath the shadow of his cap, his smile twisting into something inscrutable.

*Splash.*

*Splash.*

Tiffany stood in front of the bathroom sink, splashing cold water on her face repeatedly.

Yet instead of cooling down, the heat in her cheeks only intensified.

The growing fire inside her made her increasingly uneasy.

*I need to get some sober-up medicine before heading home.

* Clutching her phone, she staggered toward the elevator.

Her head grew heavier, her limbs weak as cotton.

Just as she neared the elevator, a hand yanked her into a pitch-black private room.

"Fanny," came Jayden’s voice, laced with a sinister chuckle.

"After the final meeting, you wouldn’t just leave without saying goodbye, would you?"

"First—don’t call me Fanny.

We’re not that close," Tiffany hissed through gritted teeth, wrenching her arm free from his grip.

"Second, I was just going to buy something downstairs.

Let me go!"

The suffocating darkness and her weakening body sent waves of panic through her.

She immediately turned to leave.

"Not close?

That hurts, Fanny," Jayden wrapped his arms around Tiffany from behind, his voice low and dripping with malice.

"As for shopping," he murmured, his tone dark and inscrutable, "I can buy whatever you need."

His grip tightened slightly.

"Just be with me, and I’ll get you anything you want."

"No!" Tiffany’s body stiffened, a wave of visceral disgust rising in her throat. "Let me go right now, or I’ll scream!

Do you really want to make a scene?"

Jayden had built up some reputation in recent years—she was counting on his pride to hold him back.

"Scream?"

His hands clamped down harder, shoving her onto the nearby couch with brutal force.

"Go ahead," he sneered, pressing his weight against her.

One hand closed around her throat while the other yanked at her clothes.

"Call them, Fanny.

Let everyone see what we’re doing!"

"Get off me!!"

Tiffany was utterly terrified, her body thrashing wildly in desperation.

"Jayden, you disgusting pervert—let me go!"

But her struggles were no match for the man’s brute strength.

Her already flushed face turned crimson with exertion.

"Disgusting pervert?"

Jayden froze mid-motion, his voice laced with a chilling fury.

"Tiffany, I’ve been devoted to you, and this is how you repay me?"

Jayden let out a cold snort, his tone darkening.

"Fine.

If that’s how it is, I won’t hold back anymore."

Jayden leaned in, intent on forcing a kiss, but Tiffany was quicker.

In one swift motion, she grabbed her phone and smashed it against his head with all her might.

"Ah—!"

Jayden hissed in pain, his grip loosening slightly.

Tiffany knew it wasn’t enough.

Seizing the moment, she gritted her teeth, mustered every ounce of strength left in her body, and drove her knee upward—straight into his most vulnerable spot.

"Ugh!"

Jayden clearly hadn’t expected Tiffany to strike so ruthlessly.

Caught completely off guard, he staggered back two steps, clutching the throbbing spot where her knee had landed.

Now!

Tiffany clenched her fists, digging her nails into her palms—the sharp pain kept her alert.

Blindly, she lunged toward the door.

Thankfully, it was just a few steps away.

Her fingers fumbled for the handle, and with a desperate yank, she flung the door open.

Light flooded in, and Tiffany’s eyes widened with hope.

Stumbling forward, she barely managed a step outside before—

"Hel—"

A hand clamped over her mouth from behind, cutting off her cry.

She was dragged back into the private room, her heart hammering in terror.

Her beautiful eyes widened, brimming with sheer despair.

If this man laid a finger on her, she’d rather die.

*Smack!*

Jayden seized her hair and struck her hard across the face.

"Fanny," he hissed, voice dripping with venom.

"You’ve disappointed me."

Thud!

The slap was so forceful it sent Tiffany sprawling to the ground. Her fair, delicate cheek immediately swelled red, throbbing with sharp pain.

The impact caused her phone to light up, illuminating the dim surroundings.

"Fanny," Jayden’s voice was deceptively gentle as he crouched before her, his shadow looming over her trembling form.

"I never wanted to treat you this way.

You brought this upon yourself."

His utterly forgettable face twisted into a grotesque smile, the expression so sinister it sent chills down her spine.

"L-Jayden," Tiffany fought to keep her voice steady, blinking back tears despite the stinging pain.

"I have a boyfriend.

If you dare lay a finger on me, he’ll make you pay!"

"Boyfriend?"

Jayden’s smirk widened into something truly terrifying.

"Arlo?

Didn’t you two break up ages ago?"

Her blood ran cold.

How did he know about her breakup with Arlo?

Tiffany’s slightly reddened eyes were filled with disbelief.

Had he been spying on her life all this time?!

"Don’t look so surprised," Jayden said in a slow, eerie tone as he pulled out a white gauze from his coat and poured the contents of a small vial onto it.

"I didn’t just know about your breakup—I knew exactly why it happened."

Jayden folded the gauze deliberately, the smirk on his lips deepening.

"And not long ago, I even paid Arlo to deliver you straight into my bed." What?

Tiffany’s beautiful eyes flickered with shock.

"You were the one who told Arlo to kidnap me?!"

"That’s right," Jayden replied, his face twisting into a mocking half-smile.

"Too bad the bastard turned out to be useless."

Jayden seized Tiffany by the collar and pressed the damp gauze in his other hand against her face.

"So now, I’ll just have to do it myself."
