Director Ye said, "If we don’t go into town, are they not going into town either?"

Director Ye, though very surprised, believed her words. Except for close friends and family members he personally notified, no one else should be aware that Meng Xinian was transporting supplies to help the villagers of Jiguan Village evacuate.

"Yes. His name is Ji Chunlai; I hired him to drive me here," she said.

Upon seeing Xiao Zhang hesitating to speak, Director Ye immediately questioned, "If you have something to say, speak."

"Director Ye, I’ve seen her before. She came to Alliance District looking for Officer Meng," Xiao Zhang glanced at Chiang Xiao, "But that was almost two years ago, I hardly recognized her at first."

Back then, Chiang Xiao had not even turned fourteen yet; now she was almost sixteen. She had matured a lot, her features much more developed, and she had grown taller as well.
