Chapter 185: Chapter 185 The Fairy-like Woman
Chiang Xiao boiled another pot of Ganoderma water for them to remember to drink, then found an excuse and left the house again.
She had barely left the house when she almost bumped into Chiang Caijiao who was running out from Old Chiang’s house.
"Xiao, sister Xiao," Chiang Caijiao called out to her in a voice as quiet as a mosquito’s.
In Old Chiang’s house, Chiang Caijiao was the one with the least presence.
Chiang Xiao responded and asked, "Where are you going?"
Chiang Caijiao timidly said, "I am going to find Second Uncle, Granny wants him to bring the meat back home for us to eat."
Meat!
Wasn’t that snatched from their house?
So, Chiang Baohe had stolen the meat from her family and not brought it back to Old Chiang’s house? Where could he have taken it then?
As the commotion went on, the sky had already darkened, and there were still no street lights installed in the mountain village, casting a dimness everywhere.
Chiang Caijiao ran off quickly, and Chiang Xiao noticed that she was heading towards the direction of the large tree at the head of the village. Usually, Chiang Baohe would loiter around that spot when he had nothing else to do.
But Chiang Xiao thought about it and felt that he wouldn’t take the meat there.
She walked while thinking about this.
For Chiang Baohe, what was the most important thing at this time? Definitely a woman. Who would he go to with the meat?
Liu Caiyun!
Chiang Xiao knew that Liu Caiyun’s son, Ji Desheng, would be staying at the school and wouldn’t be at home at this time. It was highly possible that Chiang Baohe, who was constantly trying to get close to Liu Caiyun, would bring the meat to curry favor with her.
With this thought, she quickened her pace significantly, avoiding people as much as she could along the way. However, at this hour, villagers were either at home having dinner or gathered under the big tree at the village head chatting away, so she didn’t encounter anyone.
Liu Caiyun, the widow, was too attractive. Usually, the wives in the village guarded their husbands tightly, and any man who sidled up to her doorstep risked stirring up domestic disputes, making the area around Liu Caiyun’s home quieter than anywhere else.
When Chiang Xiao arrived, she saw that Liu Caiyun’s door was slightly ajar, revealing a faint light coming from inside.
"Caiyun, what I said just now all came from the heart, don’t mind that I have only one eye. I still look pretty decent, right? Having only one eye doesn’t affect anything! I’ve got a sound body, I’m strong, I can work the fields, and I can definitely work in bed too..."
Ugh.
He really did come to seduce the pretty widow!
Judging by Chiang Baohe’s voice, it sounded as if he was floating, drunk?
Coming over with meat and drink, he had indeed invested some resources.
Liu Caiyun’s voice was a bit soft, unclear what she was saying, but her tone seemed rather frantic and exasperated. She had always looked down on Chiang Baohe, so how could she be confused by some meat and wine?
Chiang Xiao looked around, hid beside the door, then quickly slipped into her Space, waiting for Chiang Baohe to come out.
This waiting lasted an hour.
Thankfully, she could still paint in the Space, so the hour wasn’t too hard to endure.
When she heard some noise, Chiang Xiao immediately exited the Space and ran to an alleyway across the street, where she pasted a large watercolor painting she had just done in the Space onto a corner of the wall.
Chiang Baohe was pushed out the door by Liu Caiyun, his hands and feet making inappropriate gestures towards her. Liu Caiyun looked annoyed and impatient but after coaxing him with a couple of sentences, she managed to push him out the door, which then was slammed shut with a loud bang.
"Ptui! Stupid woman, you ate my food and drank my drink, and you won’t even let me touch you! Once I get you back to my house, I’ll make sure you regret it!" Chiang Baohe said as he walked away, staggering.
He had only gone a few steps when he suddenly noticed a woman squatting at the entrance of the alley ahead.
In the dim light, the woman was half-kneeling, half-squatting, looking up as if she was peering into the alley. She was only wearing a tank top and patterned shorts, her long hair cascading down like black vines, accentuating her bare arms and long legs, shining pale white in the darkness.
Chiang Baohe rubbed his eyes and looked closer.
The woman’s profile was as beautiful as a flower, her lips a bright red.
