Just as expected, the moment Kiara heard the word ‘death,’ she became unhappy, her face instantly darkening.

“It’s something we can’t avoid. When people turn to ashes, all they leave behind is their spirit. Dad’s sick now and doesn’t have any other wishes, just wants to see you grow up strong.”

Kiara’s teeth ached from the sappiness, “Where did you learn these lines, from some melodramatic soap opera?”

Cough cough, caught out, Yuzo Joel felt a little guilty.

“Yes, only 5 days. You can come back when the time’s up.”

“I want to see your latest medical report.”

Yuzo Joel’s eyes lit up, and he immediately pulled it out from under the sofa and handed it to her. Kiara glared at him, realizing he had been planning this all along!

The medical report was pretty stable; as long as his condition was kept under control, there wouldn’t be much of a problem. Currently, the indicators were all stable.

“I can’t guarantee a win, and if I lose, don’t blame me.”

Yuzo Joel’s eyebrows danced with joy.

“Just do your best!”

“While I’m not at home, you better take your medication on time, keep a regular diet and routine. Don’t think you can go out and have fun just because I’m not here. Mario Yuno was working overtime, and Edward Farmbright had things to do and didn’t come back, so eventually, they couldn’t avoid ordering takeout.

The takeout was brought in by Norris Flowery Fox; Wendy was happy to see him, clapping her hands excitedly at him.

“Is the hypnotist market really that bad?” Kiara pointed at the takeout he was holding, laughing that he might need to change jobs.

Since the last time Mario Yuno set his dog on him, Kiara hadn’t seen him for days, and he hadn’t gone to the laboratory either.

“Just happened to come across it on my way back and brought it over–let me give her a hug.”

Norris Flowery Fox picked up Wendy and frowned.

Norris felt his back bristle from her laughter, so he turned his back to her, pretending to focus on playing with the baby.

Noticing the car keys in his hand, Yuzo Joel asked, “Got a new car?”

“Mm, struck a bit of a windfall recently and just switched cars on a whim.”

After a glance at the car keys, Kiara commented, “That’s pretty luxurious of you.”

“Thanks to your blessing.”

His response was a bit baffling to Kiara, not understanding why he would credit her for his good fortune in changing cars.

But Yuzo Joel revealed an understanding smile.

“Our Kiara is indeed a child who brings blessings; I’ve won quite a bit myself…”

“What are you two talking about?” Kiara was completely lost.

“Nothing, just eat, let’s eat!”

After dinner, Mario Yuno called to say something came up at his workplace and he had to work overtime all night, so he couldn’t make it over.

Considering she had to visit the laboratory the next morning, Kiara figured she might as well stay the night instead of going back and forth; Yuzo Joel’s villa had plenty of spare rooms, and there was one prepared for her and the child. This way, she could go to the laboratory with Yuzo Joel the next day.

Of course, Yuzo Joel was delighted. After chatting with his daughter until 9 o’clock, they went their separate ways when Wendy started to yawn.

After bathing her daughter and putting her to bed, Kiara did some editing on her thesis on her computer, and when she saw it was midnight and felt a bit thirsty, she went downstairs to the kitchen for a snack and happened to meet Norris hunting for some midnight snacks.

He was staying at Yuzo Joel’s home while on the mainland, and it was Kiara’s first time seeing him in pajamas, looking slightly bleary-eyed.

“Want some mousse?” Norris took out the cake, and Kiara saw it was the brand she had recommended.

“You’re really devoted, always going back and forth between just a few places,” Kiara said unceremoniously as she sat down. “Please get me some warm milk, thanks.”

“…I’m supposed to be your creditor, but somehow, you act like you’re the one holding my debt,” Norris said. Yet, he still quickly warmed up some milk for Kiara using the microwave oven.

“Thanks~”

“You’re welcome. I just don’t want to put out a fire in the middle of the night – your and my uncle’s talent for burning down the kitchen is truly astonishing.”

They both had more than enough mousse cake to eat. Seeing Norris typing something on his laptop drew Kiara’s curiosity, and she leaned in to take a look.

“What’s this?”

“Oh, it’s a survey on spiritual twins. Want to give it a try?”

Norris turned the laptop towards Kiara, and she casually looked over it while holding her cup, finding the questions she’d never seen before quite interesting.

“I’ll give it a shot.”

Her fingers danced across the keyboard and she completed the set of questions in no time.

“Let me see yours,” she said to Norris.

Norris shared his answers with Kiara, “It’s different from yours.”

“Yeah, next time I see Zoel, I’ll have him answer it too. We’re spiritual twins, so it should be quite similar.”

“No, it won’t be the same,” said Norris with a faint smile on his lips.

Because this wasn’t really a survey on spiritual twins, so how could it possibly be the same.

“What did you say?”

“I meant, when are you going to pay back the debt you owe me?”
