Rebirth of the Villainous Female Boss -
Chapter 1285 - Chapter 1285 Chapter 1257 Camden Save the Child
Chapter 1285: Chapter 1257: Camden, Save the Child! Chapter 1285: Chapter 1257: Camden, Save the Child! Kiara placed her hand on her belly, hoping to share her strength with the baby inside.
Child, you must hold on, Mother will definitely bring you safely into this world! Hang in there!
Thinking this, Kiara made a little fence with her hands and whispered in her mother’s ear; Kiara’s mother’s lips trembled slightly, her hands were ice cold, and she looked at her daughter helplessly, as if asking, “Can we do this?”
Kiara nodded at her, so Kiara’s mother, pretending nothing was wrong, casually asked.
“Arlong has been doing really well recently, he received praise from the company. He also told me, the next time the company praises him, he wants to take Father along.”
“Really?” Rico Clark’s voice contained a trace of joy.
Kiara’s mother looked at Kiara, and Kiara nodded again.
“Yeah, his leader praised him, saying he’s very capable. Recently he’s also been tutoring under his leader–”
Kiara pinched her mother, and Kiara’s mother swallowed the words “sister and brother-in-law.”
Now, Kiara had her mother mention Arlong just to test whether Rico Clark’s logical thinking was confused and then to find a breakthrough in his emotions. She knew that after her own presumed death, Rico Clark harbored an inexplicable emotion towards her, and she couldn’t bring up herself and Mario Yuno.
“Under the guidance of his leader, he’s doing homework to prepare for retaking the College Entrance Exam next year. If the child gets into a good school, you can consider yourself to have a distinguished descendant.”
“Nonsense! He’s my son, isn’t it obvious that he’s got prospects? Haha!” Rico Clark indeed seemed very happy.
This state made Kiara even more suspicious. Mentioning anything else seemed normal, but speaking about herself made him act insane. What kind of mental illness was this?
Kiara had her mother divert Rico Clark’s attention while she multitasked in her mind.
She analyzed Rico Clark’s condition, a sickness she had never encountered before, very extreme, and specifically extreme about her alone. Regarding other matters, it seemed that he retained logic and memory, such as his normal emotions towards Arlong.
Kiara’s hands also didn’t stop trying to make a call, even though she knew that something in the car was blocking the cell signal. She still hoped for even a small chance to break through this block, but it was doomed to disappointment–the device was high-end, and the signal was tightly blocked.
This also served as a warning to Kiara–considering who could be providing Rico Clark with such equipment, such high-tech stuff, coupled with the taxi and Rico Clark’s abnormal reactions…
As she pondered these issues, Kiara’s eyes kept moving. She began to look outside; Rica Clark’s car was speeding, already out of the City District and driving along the National Highway outward. She had only just given Camden a call for help while still In the City, but now they had passed several forks in the road, and she didn’t know if Mario Yuno could find her among so many branches.
And along this National Highway, Kiara remembered there were two more exits ahead–one leading to the Mountain Scenic Area and another to a different City.
Watching Rico Clark take the path towards the Scenic Area sent a shock through Kiara’s heart.
Oh no, is he heading into the mountains?
If they were heading into the mountains, could Camden find her promptly? Even if she could use hypnosis to control Rico Clark, there was still the matter of her belly–
Kiara’s belly was cramping again, the pain starting to come in waves. Although it wasn’t very painful for the moment, it gave her an uneasy premonition.
Now she could only hope that Rico Clark didn’t have any accomplices and that Camden could make it through the barriers quickly to find her.
Closing her eyes, she suddenly thought of the dream she had in the early stages of her pregnancy when Wendy was calling out desperately, “Daddy, save me.”
At this moment, the ever-capable Kiara, although she had made all-around preparations for self-rescue, found her thoughts overlapping with the dream she had at the beginning.
Camden, save the child!
Mario Yuno was also not idle at this time; he was driving and tracking based on his own judgement while simultaneously making calls to mobilize any available forces. When many hands join together, the work becomes easier; this situation required deploying more people to pursue.
Besides filing a police report, he had also phoned his elder brother, coordinating multiple vehicles for pursuit from various angles. It was known that Kiara had taken a taxi and the license plate was also known, but to prevent the possibility of the kidnapper suddenly changing to a fake plate, Mario Yuno still arranged from multiple directions.
Workplace organisations and teams from all quarters set off via different routes, tracking every road Kiara might take. Mario Yuno even requested several roadblocks, assigning personnel to inspect vehicles at various highway toll booths.
Even so, he still felt uneasy. Though it seemed the kidnapper had no room to escape, making these arrangements required layers of approval, and despite skipping some complex steps, mobilizing the personnel also took time, at least a few minutes at the fastest.
In a few minutes, a car could have traveled far; many things could happen in just a few minutes.
This was when Mario Yuno’s exceptional brain and command talent became evident; a clear route map instantly formed in his mind, radiating out from the position Kiara had mentioned, and he precisely arranged personnel for each path.
Zenith Kyan, at the workplace organisation, was coordinating people on Mario Yuno’s behalf. The two had worked together for many years and shared an exceptional understanding. Once Mario Yuno shared a strategy with him, he immediately understood and dispatched multiple teams.
Several teams had already begun searching in the city. Compared to others, Mario Yuno was closer; he quickly arrived at the ramp.
He kept his phone line open with Zenith Kyan. Speaking with Zenith alone was equivalent to communicating with everyone, as Zenith had control of all the resources consolidated at the headquarters.
“One, you’re the closest car outside the city. You continue following the city’s outline; I’ll have the others go into the mountains,” Zenith Kyan suggested to Mario Yuno, wanting him to head towards another city since it was more likely, from a conventional standpoint, that the kidnapper would move Kiara and her mother there.
Gazing at the two forks of the ramp ahead, Mario Yuno rejected the idea, guided by his intuition.
“I’ll go into the mountains; your people should go into the city.”
“Why? Isn’t the likelihood of going into the mountains at this point pretty slim? If the person who kidnapped Sister-in-law is after money, wouldn’t heading into the city be more probable?”
“I don’t know, just intuition.” Mario Yuno wished fervently that Kiara could leave him some sort of clue like before.
But now, with nothing at all, he had to rely solely on his intuition to make the choice.
“Then I hope your intuition is accurate.”
Mario Yuno’s car flew towards the mountains.
During this time, he made another call to his Second Brother, who said he could arrange for aerial support, but deploying helicopters and the like would also take time, including setting flight paths. Meanwhile, everything depended solely on Camden’s own efforts.
As the net was cast wide to search for Kiara, Kiara herself was also actively preparing to rescue herself.
She watched as Rico Clark drove towards the scenic area, not via the main road but along a bumpy trail.
This scenic area was a mountain, and it wasn’t the peak tourist season, meaning few visitors. Additionally, there were not many residents in the area, and Rico Clark had chosen a rarely frequented route. Finding her would be far from easy.
The lush vegetation obscured the view, and Kiara’s heart grew colder.
