Rebirth of the Villainous Female Boss
Chapter 1271 - Chapter 1271 Chapter 1243 True and False Who is Real

Chapter 1271: Chapter 1243: True and False, Who is Real Chapter 1271: Chapter 1243: True and False, Who is Real “Buy some fruits and visit your Master, er, Yuzo…whatever his name is!” Camden deliberately imitated her way of speaking, and Kiara pushed him, annoyed, “You’re annoying!”

Indeed, even Camden could tell she was being a bit pretentious about the issue of acknowledging a father, but there really was no helping it–she just wasn’t able to accept the change in her status all at once.

The two of them headed back to the hospital again. Mario Yuno knocked on the door, and hearing an invitation to enter, he came in with a beaming face, holding the fruits.

“Who’s that, are you feeling any better?”

“Who’s that” was lying on the hospital bed, idly counting the little black spots on the ceiling tiles, and immediately sat up when he heard the door open. Seeing that it was Camden, he laid back down, disappointed, and replied haughtily.

“Still alive.”

“Oh, daughter-in-law, he’s still alive; you don’t need to come in!” Mario Yuno shouted out to the corridor outside the door, and Yuzo Joel immediately started coughing, clutching his chest.

“I might be done for, Yacob… bring me my medicine… ah, you Rebel Disciple, why aren’t you moving…”

Kiara rushed in upon hearing this, “Where’s the medicine?”

Edward Farmbright, who was unfairly branded a “Rebel Disciple,” rolled his eyes at his master’s self-directed drama. Pointing at Kiara, he said irritably, “The medicine’s here, I’m leaving!”

He grabbed Mario Yuno’s arm, “Let’s go, we didn’t finish our last match–who’s up for a few moves outside the restroom?”

Mario Yuno knew this was to give Kiara and Yuzo Joel a private moment to talk, so he joked.

“Sure, I’ll make sure you’re looking for your teeth on the floor today.”

“I’ll beat you so bad, even your dad won’t recognize you–Old Man, don’t glare at me, I’m talking about him, not your little darling!”

Edward Farmbright dashed off after saying this. Kiara was incredibly embarrassed and turned to Mario Yuno for help, but Camden only gave her an encouraging gesture and ran off as well.

He could help his daughter-in-law with everything else, but recognizing a father was a decision Kiara had to make on her own.

When it was just the two of them in the room, Kiara stood in front of the bed with her head down, not sure what to say, while Yuzo Joel just looked at her with satisfaction.

The fact that she came shows she has softened a bit; she’s at least clicking with the idea, which is enough for him.

“What’s really going on with that illness of yours?”

“Sit down, don’t stand there!”

They both spoke at the same time, each expressing concern for the other; Kiara felt her face warm up, thinking it’s no wonder Camden teased her about being pretentious–she was also a bit uncomfortable with this new self.

She pulled up a chair to sit quite a distance away from Yuzo Joel, cleared her throat, and asked again.

“So tell me, what’s the deal with your illness?” She wanted to ask if it was serious and whether it was treatable, but Yuzo Joel dropped a bombshell right away.

“This whole being in the hospital thing is fake, I lied to you.”

“…You lied?” Kiara felt as if a bucket of cold water had been thrown over her head.

“Yes, this complexion, this abnormal heartbeat, they’re all fake. I just wanted to find an opportunity to recognize you as my daughter. You know your Third Senior Brother makes medicine; all of this was concocted by him,” Edward Wheeler ‘Bright Clarity’ said.

Kiara’s face began to contort in disgust, “Are you playing a joke on me?!”

Then why had she been so conflicted? She felt like an idiot!

“I just wanted you to understand that in certain environments, emotions can be amplified or diminished. Things you feel could never be forgiven may seem less important after some comparison,” he explained.

She had been played!

The word “amplified” echoed in Kiara’s head as she fought to contain her rising anger, her cheeks flushing red.

“Since I’ve already believed it, why tell me the truth?” she demanded.

“My goal was to make you go through the process and learn to choose, to be less entangled and more carefree. Now that the goal has been achieved, there’s no need to hide the process from you anymore. You hate being lied to more than anything, don’t you?” he reasoned.

Kiara looked around impatiently, “Where did the fruits Camden brought go? They should be smeared all over this guy’s face. You think you have a right to deceive?!”

“What you’re doing now is exactly what I hate the most!” she scolded angrily.

“If I don’t tell you the truth, you’ll hate me even more. I really didn’t know how to get close to you, and you, being so clever, had already noticed something was amiss. If I hadn’t done this and you found out on your own, the consequences would have been worse. It’s better I tear down this curtain of truth myself,” he justified.

Kiara took a deep breath, touching her rounded belly as a reminder that anger was bad for a pregnant woman, and it took a good while before she managed to push down the fire within.

“Yuzo Joel, give me an explanation I can accept. What is going on between you and My Mom? Why are you getting close to me, and why did you abandon Mother and me back then? In that era, marital infidelity and having another’s Child–if discovered, what would have become of Mother and me? Did you ever think about that?” she pressed, holding back the urge to slam the door and leave.

She was brimming with fury, waiting for an answer. Perhaps deep down, Kiara still hoped this man would say something to quell her anger, but he did not.

“Don’t concern yourself with your mother’s and my past. You just need to know one thing–that you are my daughter. My reason for getting close to you is simply my attachment to my Child. I had to abandon you back then due to unavoidable circumstances which I can’t discuss. As for your last question, it’s irrelevant. I’ve already tampered with your mother’s memory, no one can know your secret,” he replied all at once.

He quickly answered so much, but the fire in Kiara’s heart wasn’t extinguished. This was as good as saying nothing, wasn’t it?

“Your lies are just too many. Ever since you approached me, you’ve been making up identities and telling a whole bunch of lies, and now you’re faking illness to deceive me. How much of what you just said is true and how much of it is false?” she challenged.

Yuzo Joel was unpredictable, blending lies with truth in an unorthodox manner. Kiara had genuinely believed he was ill, and she’d have acknowledged him as her father with just a bit more effort on his part. But he refused to play by the rules!

Suddenly, he confessed to deceiving her, a move so out of the ordinary that Kiara couldn’t get a handle on him, and was even less clear on his intentions.

Being tricked time and again had left its scars, and she couldn’t believe a word he said.

“I swear to heaven, all that I just said is true. You’re my daughter, and I couldn’t bear to leave you. I had a reason back then that I couldn’t reveal, forcing me to give you up,” he swore earnestly.

“Heh… So, after all this beating around the bush, all you can say is it was ‘unavoidable.’ Your ‘unavoidable’ has led to so many years of a misplaced life for me, and now you expect me to forgive you just like that? Not a chance!” Kiara felt a profound sense of betrayal, as if she’d been played for a fool by this Old Man, an expert in human psychology.

“I never expected you to forgive me. Now, I just want to accomplish what I must in the little time I have left,” Yuzo Joel said, his face turning a shade paler as he pointed to a cabinet.

“Could you get my medicine for me?”

Kiara, seeing things reach this point and suspecting another trick, was furious yet curious to see what he’d do next. She strode over, flung open the cabinet door, and was left speechless at the sight of the rows of medicine inside.
