Chapter 1168: Chapter 1140 Everything Is Possible (Part 4) Chapter 1168: Chapter 1140 Everything Is Possible (Part 4) “I have no accomplices, it was just me alone!” Arlong finally understood, damn you, Mario Yuno!!!
He trusted him so much and treated him like family! And yet, he was treated this way! All was fine during the day, but at night he came to check on him–this was pushing him toward a dead end!
This was just too cruel!
Arlong looked at Mario Yuno with hatred in his eyes. He wished he could run out immediately, run to his sister and complain. That kid was heartless; he deserved to be punished by his sister, forced to kneel and wash clothes on a washboard!
“Just you alone?” Mario Yuno swept a gaze over the people in the room, and seeing the dead silence below, he spoke loudly.
“Good, since it was only you, pack up your things and leave right now! You are expelled–”
Before he could finish his sentence, a voice came from the crowd.
“Reporting! It was me! It was me who planned the theft of the exam papers with Draco Clark, don’t expel him!” Thomas stepped forward.
He couldn’t just watch Arlong get expelled.
Another bunkmate wanted to raise his hand but was pulled back by someone else. That person hesitated, then the one pulling shook his head at him. Both remained silent, one looking down at the ground, the other torn over whether to confess.
Mario Yuno took note of everyone’s reactions and then asked Thomas.
“Have the two of you thought this through? If you admit to this, you might get expelled!”
“Each man is responsible for his own actions. What I did is what I did. Don’t expel them; it’s this intern who held them back. Punish me however you want!” Thomas said decisively.
Mario Yuno nodded internally, good, not bad.
Although Thomas could sometimes be a fool, his loyalty did his family justice and did not disgrace his father.
“Don’t expel them, it was me, I did it all. Just expel me!” Arlong defended his buddies, now wishing he could eliminate Mario Yuno with his glare.
“Just the two of you? In light of your honesty, I’ve decided to give you a chance. If anyone else steps forward to admit, I won’t expel you, but I will dock a month’s salary from each of you. If no one else admits, then it’s on you two, and both of you will be expelled! Or, if one of you points out an accomplice, I might consider docking less!”
“No need to consider it, it’s just me!”
Thomas and Arlong said in unison.
They were not the type to betray friends. Pretending not to hear them, Mario Yuno spoke loudly to the others.
“Since no one else is admitting, someone, bring their files here. I have decided to expel–”
“Reporting!” The bunkmate who was about to come forward couldn’t hold back any longer and stood out.
“Speak!”
“Me too, I was involved in this as well! You can punish us however you like, but please don’t expel us. We didn’t mean to violate the discipline deliberately; it’s just that the exam was too hard, and we couldn’t bear to leave without trying, so we’re willing to take the punishment. Please don’t expel us, especially Draco Clark, he’s had it tough enough already!”
“Old Eight!” Arlong didn’t want his bunkmate to speak, these people all did not know that Mario Yuno was his brother-in-law; he now saw Mario Yuno as his enemy and didn’t want him to know about his affairs.
“Oh? And why should this guy not be expelled?” Mario Yuno kicked Arlong.
“He comes from a distant mountain. He not only carries the hopes of his entire workplace organisation, but he also aspires to be someone just like his idol!”
“Idol?”
“Yes! Draco Clark says he admires his brother-in-law the most and hopes to become a real man just like him! I heard his brother-in-law works at the headquarters, and he did everything he could to get in.”
Arlong felt like he wanted to burrow into the ground and never come out. How could he have been so foolish to tell others about his wish? Now, he was bound to be laughed to death by that scoundrel, Mario Yuno!
Arlong thought that Mario Yuno, the universally peerless number one troublemaker, would use this opportunity to mock him mercilessly, but Mario Yuno only glanced at him and didn’t continue with the topic. Instead, he carried on with the discussion from before toward the audience below.
“Only the three of you left, huh? None of you want to point fingers at anyone else, is that right? Think carefully now; if you don’t point someone out, you all will have your wages docked, but if you do, you can lose less money! Also, if someone voluntarily steps forward now, these three poor fellows can have their fines reduced. Have you decided?”
Mario Yuno turned his gaze to another person in the dormitory, the last one left. As long as he stepped forward, the three men could be fined less.
This last person had consistently performed well, and the training instructors also had a good impression of him.
Unexpectedly, at this moment, he remained silent, not saying a word. Mario Yuno waited a few seconds, saw that no one spoke up, and noticed that the three were stubbornly holding their tongues, so he came to a conclusion.
“Each of these three rookies will be fined 200 dollars! Dismissed!”
Draco Clark looked at Mario Yuno’s arrogant face, seething with hatred inside.
Just wait until he found an opportunity not to tattle to his sister!
That day, Draco Clark and his two buddies studied desperately. Arlong had never worked so hard even when he was in school, feeling his brain cells burning at a high rate, and he almost fainted. Meanwhile, Mario Yuno sat in his office, sipping tea calmly as he listened to the reports coming back from the Department Manager who was monitoring them.
“Arlong is a pretty good kid,” Zenith Kyan, who had been involved throughout, said highly appreciatively.
He remembered Arlong as a child from years ago and was surprised to see how much he had grown. Although he could be a bit cunning and slippery, his nature wasn’t bad. Able to evade the watchdogs and escape out of loyalty, willing to be fired rather than betraying his friends–Zenith Kyan greatly admired this quality. In contrast, another employee he had high hopes for had disappointed him.
“I really didn’t expect Arlong’s roommate not to step forward. It’s a pity; I used to have such high hopes for him.”
“You can’t judge a book by its cover,” was all Mario Yuno said, and Zenith Kyan understood immediately.
It meant he didn’t want to keep that person around.
Mario Yuno had given him so many opportunities. If only he had stepped forward, Arlong and the others wouldn’t have their wages docked, but that person chose to protect himself and didn’t stand up.
“Sigh,” Zenith Kyan sighed but didn’t say much. After all, not everyone was cut out to stay.
“Honestly, aren’t you afraid your wife at home will punish you for being so harsh on Arlong?”
“Am I the kind of man who fears his wife?” Mario Yuno raised an eyebrow, nearly convincing Zenith Kyan with his bluff.
“Heh…” not wanting to offend the boss, a laugh was all he could offer to express his feelings.
“Speaking of which, One, do you think Arlong is suitable to work with us long-term? This kid actually looks up to you as his idol.”
Zenith Kyan was rather moved when he heard from Arlong’s roommate that his idol was his brother-in-law, but he also felt it was a pity. Arlong’s educational background was too limited, and it would be a constraint for his future development.
Mario Yuno might not care about educational qualifications and could offer Arlong an ordinary position to develop from, but if Arlong wanted to stand firm and reach the middle or upper management in the future, such a level of education would definitely not suffice.
“My mother-in-law spoiled him too much, making the kid a late bloomer. But it doesn’t matter if he has a low starting point; as long as he’s willing to work hard, anything is possible.”
“That’s true… I understand from what you’re saying that you intend to teach him personally?”
