Kiara’s words seemed ambiguous, ostensibly asking Mario Yuno to remain fair, but it seemed like there was more to what she was saying.

Mario Yuno simply smiled and didn’t respond. He could actually tell that his daughter-in-law didn’t really want Arlong to stay, probably because she was worried that Arlong would cause trouble.

“Daughter-in-law, and you know what? I really did give the kid a green light, I gave him a tiny bit of privilege.”

“What?!” Kiara glared at him, ready to skewer him with a King Crab claw that had fallen off.

Mario Yuno quickly raised his hands in surrender.

“Just for today! It’s not really a privilege. Newcomers get half a day of free time when they arrive, don’t they? I let him come to our home for dinner. Rest assured, after today, he’ll be in closed training for a month, and I definitely won’t give him any more green lights!”

After hearing this, Kiara’s face bloomed with joy, though she verbally complained, her expression was clearly cheerful.

“This kid’s coming to eat? Then just freeze the Crabs and give him some cabbage to eat.”

“If you don’t go out and let me have the kitchen, then you and your sister will really only have cabbage to eat later!” Mario Yuno shooed Kiara out of the kitchen with feigned indignation; his daughter-in-law was a genius at blowing up the kitchen with a single wrong move, so he couldn’t afford to let this dangerous person help.

After Kiara stepped out of the kitchen, she did a quick clean-up of the house, realizing she hadn’t seen her brother for months and was starting to miss him. She wondered what Arlong had turned into?

Kiara imagined what her Extravagant brother would look like, but when Arlong knocked on her door carrying a big bag full of Fruits, Kiara was still shocked.

“Sis!” Arlong put down the gift he brought and embraced Kiara as soon as he got there.

Originally tall and plump, the child had slimmed down a great deal after several months of training. He had also become noticeably more robust. His slimmer contours made him look delicate and handsome, bearing some resemblance to Kiara’s mother.

“You little rascal, let me down this instant!” Kiara laughed and joked with him.

Arlong didn’t let go, hugging Kiara and bragging, “Sis, look how strong I am now, I can even lift you!”

Doing physical labor at the grassroots level every day, wielding a shovel and digging the earth, if nothing else, he had certainly built up his strength, which he proudly demonstrated to Kiara upon his arrival.

“Arlong is here!” Edward Wheeler, wearing an apron, came out with a spatula still in his hand.

“Brother-in-law, hello!” Arlong immediately stood at attention. He now understood just how impressive his brother-in-law was.

Kiara wasn’t sure if it was his leaner figure or just that it had been too long since they’d seen each other, but she thought her brother had grown really handsome and felt especially happy about it.

This kid looked so much better than the unkempt pseudo-punk fatty he was a few months back. How could she, as his sister, not be happy to see such a transformation?

“It’s alright, no need to be so tense at home, relax a little,” Edward Wheeler said casually with a wave of his hand, signaling Arlong to loosen up.

Arlong chuckled, “Brother-in-law, I’m kind of not used to you like this.”

Today, he had truly witnessed his brother-in-law’s awe-inspiring presence, and seeing him so domesticated at home was somewhat jarring for him.

Along the way, he had only heard all sorts of legendary tales about his brother-in-law, which were recounted so spectacularly that Arlong felt a cool thrill in his heart.

“What’s there to get used to? You’ve got to act like you’re at home when you’re at home. Go wash your hands and have a chat with your sister. The meal will be ready in a bit,” Edward Wheeler, easy-going and smiling, invited Arlong to make himself comfortable.

“You didn’t have to bring anything, why did you buy these?” Kiara pointed to the bags on the ground.

The rascal hadn’t wasted his training. In the past, he wouldn’t have understood these gestures, arriving for a meal without bringing something would have been considered light. How could he ever have thought of buying something?

The value of the items was not important, what mattered was the sentiment behind them.

“Heh, I didn’t buy much of anything special, just some mountain delicacies I brought from the mountain village – all purchased from the villagers, stuff you can’t get on the outside. Look, sis, here are mushrooms, cured meat, dried green beans, and these, I bought them from the fruit store downstairs.”

Arlong brought the items out one by one. Kiara was visibly delighted, but she pretended to complain.

“I finally lived to see this day, it wasn’t easy. After subsidizing you for so many years, I finally see some payback.”

After she finished, both siblings laughed. Arlong, feeling a little embarrassed, scratched his head, recalling how he used to pester his sister for pocket money when he was younger.

He had no idea that back then, Rico Clark favored boys over girls and didn’t give his daughter as much allowance as his son – Kiara got less than half of what Arlong received. Now that her brother had grown up, he used his allowance to buy his sister gifts. Although not expensive, it brought joy to her heart.

“What’s this?”

Kiara pulled a box out of the bag, and Arlong’s expression became much more serious.

“Sis, can you keep this for me, please? You can give it back to me once I finish my training and have my own dormitory room.”
