Kiara sniffed but didn’t scoff in disdain as she used to.
There’s a saying, ‘the mercies of the wicked are cruel’…
“Why did you suddenly decide to read a book on pet care?”
“It’s a long story, but let’s just say I’m now living with a devil dog, and I’m planning to study canine psychology. Aka, have you ever heard of a Green Tea Bitch?”
“What’s that?”
“It’s someone who acts all nice in front of others but is actually very scheming and manipulative.”
“Oh, Eldest Brother is just like that.”
Aka promptly related to the term, feeling proud to have learned a new term. Yep, I’m so awesome.
“The evil dog at my house is a green tea dog, yes, I’ve already made a comprehensive and objective evaluation.”
That’s just green tea!
In front of Mario Yuno, the dog acts all cute, but as soon as he leaves, it starts howling in the middle of the night, so annoying!
“…It’s just a dog. If you don’t like it, give it to me. I’ll take care of it for you.”
“No way!” A dog can’t be given to just anyone. What if it leaks secrets?
“What did it do to make you dislike it so much?”
“It keeps barking. It’s so annoying.”
“A large breed?”
“Huh, how did you know?”
Aka silently lifted the book she was holding, having just flipped a page.
The page read: If your dog barks all day, please note, it’s time to take it for a walk!
…
In the Family Residential Area, someone recognized Kiara and greeted her warmly.
“Madame Yuno, walking the dog!”
Kiara, dragging–or rather, being dragged–forced a smile.
The situation right now looked more like the dog walking her.
At home, the creature wouldn’t stop barking. Kiara, worried it would disturb the neighbors, took it for a walk, and the tragedy turned into being walked by the dog.
It seems the rumored strict discipline of dogs is nonexistent. Kiara only saw one evil dog, and it was the green tea kind at that.
Kiara didn’t know how high a dog’s IQ could be, but she could always feel the malice from this evil dog.
Once Camden came back, she would definitely get rid of the creature. Mrs. Kiara didn’t want to see it for even one more second.
But as much as she disliked it, being indifferent to Camden’s dog being bullied was another matter entirely.
Kiara had walked the dog for two days straight, and their mutual affection had already hit rock bottom; they couldn’t stand each other. Since Mario Yuno left, the dog hardly ate anything, showing no interest in even the most expensive dog food Kiara tried to entice it with.
During that time, Mario Yuno called once. After Kiara put him on speaker, he scolded the green tea dog a few times, and then it begrudgingly began to eat a little, which really frustrated Kiara.
No wonder Mario Yuno brought Beautiful Lady home; up to now, the dog only listened to him. If it was sent away, it probably wouldn’t last a few days.
Today Kiara led Beautiful Lady downstairs for a stroll. Mario Yuno hadn’t updated her on the case progress, but his continued absence meant things weren’t going smoothly. He wasn’t coming back, so Kiara didn’t dare stray too far from home and just roamed around the neighborhood.
The neighborhood was clean and tidy, and with the autumn breeze, it was quite cool and comfortable. Kiara, being led by Beautiful Lady, was taken for a run.
A woman approached, also walking a dog that was only slightly larger than the palm of a hand–a Fawn Dog with a tiny tail, following its owner without a leash.
Kiara couldn’t remember who she was, but the woman seemed to recognize her, “Is that Madame Yuno?”
She was the daughter-in-law of Mario Yuno, a senior executive–they lived in the same Family Residential Area.
From quite a distance, the woman had enthusiastically waved at Kiara, who, with Beautiful Lady in tow, stopped and put on her trademark public smile.
“Madame, are you out walking your dog?”
“Yes, and so are you.” This sort of bland small talk was unavoidable, and sometimes Kiara couldn’t understand why people always asked each other such meaningless questions upon meeting.
“This little guy can’t stand staying in all day; he must have his walk. What breed is yours, Madame? He seems quite large.” The woman spoke with an accent, probably new from the Countryside, unfamiliar with Labradors, curiously sizing the dog up and down.
This big dog sure was hefty, resembling the large black dogs from In the Village, but there seemed to be some subtle differences.
“This is a Labrador, known for being quite gentle and intelligent,” Kiara said with some effort, trying to find some positives for Beautiful Lady in front of this stranger.
But all the face she could give was undercut by Beautiful Lady’s devaluing herself!
Just as Kiara was praising, she saw the woman’s little Fawn Dog suddenly start to bark furiously at Beautiful Lady, teeth bared.
Beautiful Lady shuffled her paws, and fearing she might bite the other dog, Kiara quickly tugged on her leash, well aware of her dog’s surprising combat prowess; she wouldn’t want it to injure someone else’s pet.
In the next second, something astonishing happened!
Beautiful Lady suddenly broke free from the leash!
And then…
Ran off in the opposite direction at full speed!
Kiara’s forehead creased with several black lines–this, was this really a Military Dog?
Upon seeing Beautiful Lady flee, the little Fawn Dog also started to chase after her yapping furiously!
“Zander Wong! Come back!” The Sister-in-law hadn’t expected such a large dog to be chased and bitten by her tiny dog and also ran after them, taking considerable effort to pull the fierce little dog back.
“Madame, I’m so sorry, my dog is just too aggressive.” While apologizing, she pulled out a leash from her pocket and tied the snarling little dog to a nearby lamppost.
“It’s fine…” Kiara’s smile was strained; she felt her graceful facade slipping.
Looking at what Arua had raised to call this, even if he was a retired Military Dog, how could he be such a coward?!
The Sister-in-law apologized to Kiara and asked her to keep an eye on her dog while she went into a convenience store to buy some things.
Though small in stature, Walter was particularly confrontational and liked to chase and bite kids, making him unfit to be taken inside a store.
Kiara sadly realized that her own large-sized dog was being looked down upon by this little Walter.
After the Sister-in-law left, the runaway Beautiful Lady came back, still dragging the leash behind her, and looked at Kiara from afar.
“You spineless thing, get over here!”
“Woof~”
The softness of the sound irritated Kiara; as a woman who had never taken a loss in her life, a “battle type” strong woman, she couldn’t stand any sign of weakness or timidity.
“Hurry up and get back here, that dog is leashed!”
Beautiful Lady looked on for quite a while, made sure the little ferocious Walter was indeed tied up, and then made her way back.
Kiara, frustrated by its lack of spirit, pulled on the leash and brought Beautiful Lady right in front of the diminutive Walter. Despite the remarkable size difference between the two dogs, little Walter, only slightly bigger than the palm of a hand, seemed to fancy himself a large breed and greeted Beautiful Lady’s return with another round of barking!
As Beautiful Lady backed away, Kiara pulled firmly on the leash to stop her from fleeing, taking advantage of the absence of Walter’s owner to scold Beautiful Lady.
“What are you afraid of? You run away when a person, another dog, bullies you? Can’t you show a little Military Dog spirit? Go on, bark back at it! Bark just like it barked at you!”
Having raised a Military Dog only to be bullied by a tiny dog was infuriating!
