“So, what’ll it be? You want this settled publicly or privately? Call the cops or have me pay up?”
Kiara kept her gaze fixed on Ben’s face. After hitting someone, he showed no discomfort whatsoever, instead looking even more relaxed, which further confirmed Kiara’s deductions.
This man had a propensity for violence, to varying degrees.
A boy took out his phone as if he wanted to call the police. Kiara stepped up at just the right moment.
“If you report his behavior to the police, the most likely outcome will be compensation and settlement. Based on my analysis, this guy has a 90% chance of having violent tendencies. If you don’t settle, at most they’ll detain him for a few days under the public security administration punishment law. Now, here’s the problem.”
Kiara looked around at the students gathered and began her impromptu lesson.
“What’s the most prominent characteristic of a person with violent tendencies?”
Dead silence.
Kiara stood merely three steps away from Ben, coming into close contact with someone prone to violence, and speaking words that were almost provocative, something only Kiara could do while remaining utterly composed.
“It’s normal if you can’t answer; this is content you’d encounter next semester. But let your senior give you an early lesson. Based on my clinical experience analyzing this person’s behavioral pattern, if you dare to send him in, the moment he gets out, he’ll come back and hit you even harder.”
Kiara pointed at the girl who was metaphorically ‘nailed to the wall,’ causing the girl’s lips to go white with fear.
“I’m talking about you. You resonate most with this, right? Because fundamentally, you don’t have clear violent tendencies, but you are someone who bullies those weaker than you. You tend to solve problems with force or underhanded methods. You don’t believe in winning people over with kindness and you look down on the weak. And this man–”
Kiara pointed at Arthur Moss. “His inclination towards violence is more direct than yours. You use underhanded tactics, he’s outright confrontational, and his violence will continue to escalate. This is just a minor incident; next time, there could be blood.”
You should never try to reason with people prone to violence. Fundamentally, such people reject and despise those who reason with them.
So Kiara skipped the reasoning and went straight to stating the facts.
“I’ll settle it privately!” The girl was frightened by Kiara’s words. She had been bullying classmates from poorer families since high school but it was her first time facing tough resistance.
Ben pulled out a 50-dollar bill from his pocket and slapped it on the table.
“Here, buy some medicine for this stupid bitch.”
He then turned and pointed at Kiara’s nose, his eyes redder than before, a sign of his loss of emotional control.
“You, what are you doing? Blabbering nonsense!”
“I’m just the substitute grad student you were mouthing off about, who you think knows nothing and leads others astray.”
This classroom was full of freshmen who had just started school and weren’t aware of Mrs. Kiara, one of the School’s living legends, or that this beauty was the woman of many miracles on campus.
Even though no one recognized Kiara, just her presence alone made them respect her.
Ben’s disruptive behavior was frightening to any normal person; even the boys didn’t dare to step forward carelessly, but Kiara dared to remain calm and composed, which was admirable to many.
“Heh, what do you want to do about it, challenge me, or bully my woman?” Ben didn’t care how imposing Kiara was. In his eyes, all women other than his Ruby Chubby Girl were trash, and his aesthetic standards were non-existent; he only knew one crude principle.
If someone disrespected him, he’d hit them. The tension between Ben and Kiara was palpable. Pointing at Kiara’s nose, he shouted,
“All of you better learn this lesson: anyone who dares to touch My Girlfriend again, even if I’m dying, I’ll drag you down with me!”
“You promised me you wouldn’t hit anyone!” Amelia Lancaster’s tears were about to fall as she saw the extent of what he had done.
She didn’t want her boyfriend to come, but she couldn’t stop Ben.
Whenever Ben was seized by that wild frenzy, except for Amelia Lancaster, he’d hit anyone he saw. He was frequently detained and never behaved right after being released.
“Let go!” Ben snapped, but Amelia Lancaster bit her lip and refused to loosen her grip.
“You’ve already delayed my class time. I’m giving you one minute to leave, or I guarantee your girlfriend will fail this subject this semester.”
“Are you threatening me?” Ben’s voice became somewhat bloodthirsty, a sign he was about to lose control.
Amelia Lancaster by his side was even ready to embrace Ben and tell Kiara to run for it.
“I’m just stating a fact. You worship violence; I hold the power. If you don’t care about her well-being, suit yourself. You can’t control your emotions and want to hit me? Do it now and see how it turns out for her.”
Kiara didn’t show any weakness, maintaining her usual tone. To her, a lion is nothing more than a patient; a doctor is never afraid of a patient, even an aggressive one.
While everyone else was sweating bullets for Mrs. Kiara, Ben, with red eyes, pointed at Kiara and said, “You just wait!”
Then, he turned and left.
Kiara smirked, thinking, “As if I’m afraid, it’s just a damn hammer.”
“Upperclassman, I’m sorry, I–” Amelia Lancaster began to apologize to Kiara with guilt, fearing that Ben might confront Kiara after school.
Kiara raised her hand, signaling her to zip it.
“Return to your seat; we’re starting the class now.”
With a show of her hand, Kiara let these younger students witness the demeanor of a ‘big god,’ completely commanding their attention for the rest of the class.
Kiara’s class atmosphere was relaxed yet rigorous, and sprinkled with humor. By the end of it, someone finally gathered the courage to ask her as the class was about to end.
“Aren’t you afraid of that madman’s retaliation?”
“No psychologist would ever call their patients madmen. Besides, that person only has a tendency for violence, and to do so would be disrespectful to them.”
Sitting in the back, tears in her eyes, Amelia Lancaster was moved by Kiara’s words. She didn’t like it when others called the man she liked a madman.
“To get back to your question, when your professionalism surpasses their pathology, everything is under control. I wouldn’t have said that if I wasn’t sure.”
This response, filled with the confidence of a doctor, impressed a host of freshmen, especially the males, who looked at Kiara with stars in their eyes.
Inwardly, Kiara added, she didn’t just rely on her professionalism. If her home didn’t have stronger violence, would she dare to challenge someone with violent tendencies?
“Do you have a boyfriend? Would you mind a May-December romance?”
Finally, someone voiced the question.
Kiara looked young, even younger than many students present, which prompted an eager young man to ask. Instantly, all the males were eagerly anticipating her answer.
Kiara smiled calmly.
“No boyfriend–”
In the midst of cheers, she calmly added,
“Just a husband.”
And he was a man of Full Power Value and Full Intelligence Quotient, only slightly weaker on the Emotional Intelligence front.

What’s that sound?
Perhaps it’s the sound of many young hearts breaking…
