Rebirth: Leading Families to Survive in the Apocalypse -
Chapter 752: Between Two Places
Chapter 752: Chapter 752: Between Two Places
The words of Glasses Man made the whole family unable to resist looking over. How well known were they really? They had no idea!
"Hello, my name is Chen Yizhong, and I’m the deputy captain of the Spark of Stars combat team in B City base"
Glasses Man, seeing their reaction, guessed that they were unaware of the impact they had made.
"Hello, Dragon Ruler’s Chen Daming"
Lu Hao introduced himself as well.
"Dragon Ruler had become well-known across several large and small bases nearby in the past three months. Initially, we only knew that you had found a batch of supplies, which you brought to F City base to sell at a low price because you couldn’t consume them all. After you left the F City base, people passing by F City base would occasionally inquire about you. That’s why, without any advertisement, so many people crazily flocked to F City base."
Chen Yizhong glanced at the few unremarkable people in front of him. He was curious about where they had gathered so many supplies, wondering why even the Spark of Stars, who often searched everywhere, could never find any.
But he was genuinely grateful to Dragon Ruler for selling them so many supplies; it was worth the two-day long queue.
"I see, we are actually quite happy to sell supplies to those in need"
Lu Hao tactfully responded, but he knew that the Han Family from B City might have noticed them. He remembered Elder Russell mentioning that the Han Family’s stock of supplies was also running low.
It looked like he needed to remind everyone to be careful.
Lin Yunguo’s big pancakes were still selling extremely well. The fluffy pancakes, with plenty of eggs added, often tempted those coming to buy supplies to first purchase one to satisfy their cravings. Accompanied by the delicious, fried hot chili oil next to the pancakes, it was truly a delightful treat.
Su Jin’s canned fruit, made in her spare time in the Space, had also sold out quickly.
In addition to these, Lin Yunguo also introduced mutated beef jerky and mutated salted goose eggs among other items. The flavor and selling methods were completely different from those in S City base, but they sold just as well; almost everyone who came to buy supplies would take some.
Gradually, everyone knew that whatever Dragon Ruler sold was delicious, and the prices were not expensive. The elderly man weighing the goods was very honest, always adding a little extra, never short-changing anyone.
"Grandpa, are you tired? Do you want to rest, and I can take over for a while?"
After the last group of people left, Lin Xiuyuan seized the opportunity to ask.
"Not tired, not tired. I used to stand for over a dozen hours when I was a chef back in the day. Now, I’m sitting; what’s there to be tired about?"
Lin Yunguo was very engaged in his selling and didn’t feel tired at all. If he entered the Space in the evening, he could rest there for three to four days.
"Your grandpa, every time he hears that we’re coming out to sell, he gets excited days in advance. Don’t disturb his enjoyment,"
Lin Cheng smiled, seeing the next batch of people called by number entering. The family stopped chatting and began serving the customers again.
In an old alley of H City, a flash of lightning paralyzed a hundred zombies for a few seconds.
A girl with twin ponytails stepped diagonally onto the chest of a row of zombies, breezing past and decapitating a dozen zombies in one stroke.
Su Jin stood behind, watching the well-coordinated Su Xiangzhe and Mao Qiqi, and sighed as she used her vine-based ability to extract Crystal Cores.
There was no help for it. Su Xiangzhe absolutely wouldn’t let her kill zombies; even agreeing to come out from the Formation was reluctant. She could only sneak in a few zombie kills when the family wasn’t paying attention, or else, like now, she was left to dig out Crystal Cores and clean up the bodies.
But killing zombies in the alley had its benefits; at least the back of the alley was a dead end, rarely would zombies encroach from behind or from the sides. Su Xiangzhe and Mao Qiqi just had to focus on the zombies in front of them.
"Okay, it’s been two hours, time to rest. I’ll go switch with Nie Qing,"
Su Xiangzhe, wiping the sweat from his forehead, wondered why it felt hotter and hotter.
"Alright"
Mao Qiqi obediently followed Su Xiangzhe and Su Jin back to their courtyard, where the sisters rested while waiting for the next person to arrive for battle support.
Taking the opportunity, Su Jin stood upstairs and began killing the zombies below using her Wood Element ability.
"Xiao Jin, you’re not listening again."
As a fireball smashed into a Wind Element Mutated Zombie that had just leaped to the second floor, Lu Hao’s voice rang out behind Su Jin.
"I’ll be fine standing here for a while."
Su Jin stuck out her tongue and asked, "Where’s Uncle Nie anyway?"
Unable to help himself, Lu Hao rubbed the top of Su Jin’s head and looked down at the zombie crowd raising their heads. Several fireballs went down, and the zombies in the narrow alley instantly caught fire.
"Ah, as soon as the brother-in-law comes, we don’t get to do anything."
Smelling the burning odor outside, Mao Qiqi pouted.
"Alright, I’ll protect you both, and you guys can go all out."
Lu Hao took Su Jin downstairs, figuring it wouldn’t hurt to join her for a bit of fun since she wanted to indulge.
"Really?"
Su Jin’s eyes instantly lit up, and she didn’t delay any further, heading outside with Mao Qiqi.
"It’s really true, but your canned fruit is also sold out, so let’s head back inside after this fight,"
Lu Hao said with a laugh from behind.
"Oh."
With one hand, Su Jin controlled the wooden vines to shield Mao Qiqi from the horde of zombies behind them, and with the other hand, she controlled a sharp wooden spike, piercing it through the heads of one zombie after another. Making canned fruit wasn’t nearly as satisfying as killing zombies.
A Level Seven Earth Element Mutated Zombie roared as it ran forward from the earthen wall it had created. Lu Hao quickly threw a fireball at it, successfully capturing its attention.
This Earth Element Zombie was quite clever, automatically raising steps or walls under its feet when attacking, attempting to press down on Lu Hao from above.
However, Lu Hao gave it no chance. The moment it landed, a flame erupted from below and surged up!
The Earth Element Zombie could not avoid it in time and fell right into the fire.
The flames burned through the zombie’s legs, and it struggled to jump out, only to emerge with just its upper body remaining.
It had actually severed its own lower body like a gecko seeking an escape route!
Lu Hao frowned, not because the zombie was difficult to handle, but because he vaguely felt that this zombie seemed to have developed a fighting intellect, capable of self-amputating to forge an escape path.
Could this be an instinct evolved by the zombies?
The Earth Element Mutated Zombie, now without legs, crawled towards Lu Hao, throwing stone arrows and hurling any usable bricks from the surrounding buildings at him.
A coin-sized flame shot towards the Earth Element Mutated Zombie on the ground.
The flame accurately passed through the Earth Element Zombie’s brow, and the roaring stopped.
