The moment she sat down, as a breeze blew by, the strand of hair drifted off. Ruan Yiqian had never felt his eyesight to be so acute, and afraid of arousing Shen Mianmian’s suspicions and that He Nan might secretly interfere, he watched the hair slowly fall to the ground, pretending to be nonchalant, although not once did he let it out of his peripheral vision.

"You’re as heavy as a dead pig; it’s time you considered losing some weight," Lu Siyuan muttered, setting Yang Xiaoxi in the back seat of the car and grumbling. This girl didn’t look overweight, but carrying her sure was a burden; heaven knows what she had been eating.

"Why would I need to lose weight? I’m not fat at all. Was it such a big deal to let you carry me for a little while? As if I’m craving your attention," retorted Yang Xiaoxi, emboldened now that she was in the car, showing no deference to Lu Siyuan.

The two started an oral battle inside the car. Lu Siyuan, huffing with annoyance, threatened to toss Yang Xiaoxi into the yard which terrified her into clinging to the car seat and screaming for help.

Shen Mianmian, caught between their banter, was somewhat bemused. "Alright, Siyuan, stop scaring her. She was truly frightened earlier. Let’s just sit tight and head back!"
