"Eat for a week?" Grandpa He said. "Recently, I’ve had a good appetite. Xiaoxu and I could finish that in two days at most."

"It’s good to have a healthy appetite," He Nan nodded earnestly.

Grandpa He snorted coldly, "A few days ago, Xiaohua came by and said you’re seeing someone and even sponsoring a university student?"

"Hmm."

Grandpa He’s face darkened, "Such a significant matter as dating and you don’t tell me. Do I even exist in your eyes as your grandfather?"

"I’m not in a position to bring her to meet you now," He Nan explained.

"What’s the inconvenience?" Grandpa He glared with fury, "Do I, an old man, look like I’ll eat her?"

He Nan said gravely, "She’s not ready yet, and you know how my mom is. If they meet now, it might not be a good thing; the timing isn’t right."

Grandpa He huffed twice, seemingly relenting a bit, "If it’s really inconvenient to bring her home, then don’t bring her!"

Changing the subject, he added, "Since it’s not convenient to bring your girlfriend over, bring over that student you’re sponsoring for me to see! I heard the girl scored first in the province; I want to see what kind of girl can achieve such results."

He Nan fell silent for a moment, then said, "I’ll have to ask her opinion on this."

"Hmm." Grandpa He was surprisingly easy-going this time and specifically instructed, "Just bring the girl here directly when it’s time, don’t let Xiaohua know beforehand."
