The moment Yang Xiaoxi caught sight of Shen Mianmian, she felt as if she had seen her saviors. She excitedly dropped her belongings and hugged Shen Mianmian tightly.

"Mianmian, I finally get to see you. You have no idea how tough it was lugging all this stuff around."

"Why did you bring so much with you?" Sweating profusely, Yang Xiaoxi held Shen Mianmian and felt a bit helpless.

"Clothes, shoes, blankets, some useful books, and even brought a lot of specialties from my hometown. Isn’t this what everyone does? Look around; doesn’t everyone have their hands full of big and small bags?" Although she was tired, Yang Xiaoxi didn’t feel she had brought too much at all.

A twitch appeared on the corner of Shen Mianmian’s lips, "It’s inconvenient to talk here with so many people around, let’s go back first! Your clothes are soaked with sweat."

"I’ve found the person I was looking for, so I don’t need this sign anymore. Help me carry some of my things." Yang Xiaoxi snatched the sign from Shen Mianmian’s hand, tossed it aside, and then stuffed her blanket into Shen Mianmian’s arms.

After leaving the train station and hailing a cab, they went through almost an hour’s worth of hassle before they finally arrived at their lodging.

Upon entering the courtyard house, Yang Xiaoxi was so excited she nearly jumped for joy. "Mianmian, how did you manage to do this? Everyone says things are really expensive here in Beijing, and that their houses don’t even have toilets, yet you managed to get a courtyard house? This isn’t studying; it’s like being in paradise!"

Yang Xiaoxi forgot all about the fatigue of the journey and excitedly ran around in the courtyard.

Shen Mianmian was amused by her antics, "This place was found by Brother He. If you don’t want to live in the dorms, why don’t you stay here too?"

"Really?" Yang Xiaoxi was so excited she almost bounced up, "Where is our school, and how far is it from here?"

"Not far, just about a fifteen-minute walk."

In the courtyard, there was a set of stone tables and chairs. Shen Mianmian brought out a cup of cold boiled water from the kitchen, and Yang Xiaoxi gulped it down in a few swigs.

"Which room can I live in? I want to take a look."

"That one."

Shen Mianmian pointed to a room on the west side, and Yang Xiaoxi couldn’t wait to rush inside to take a look. She was so thrilled she almost jumped with joy; she loved it here so much, this wasn’t for studying!

This was like being on vacation.

"I won’t." Shen Mianmian couldn’t help but chuckle.

"That’s so nice of you." Now, Yang Xiaoxi was genuinely happy and insisted on treating Shen Mianmian to a meal.

So, after a quick tidying up, Shen Mianmian took Yang Xiaoxi to a nearby snack street. They ate from one end of the street to the other, filling their bellies to contentment, when Yang Xiaoxi suddenly remembered an important matter.

"Mianmian, you’ve been in Beijing for some time now, have you seen Lu Siyuan?"

"No." As Shen Mianmian mentioned Lu Siyuan, she slightly furrowed her brow, "He doesn’t know I came to Beijing, but Grandpa Lu probably told him by now. Let’s look for him at school once classes start in a couple of days!"

"That guy must be having a good life in Beijing, met some pretty classmates, and so he forgot all about you. Don’t be sad, Mianmian. After all, your current boyfriend is much more handsome than him."

When Yang Xiaoxi first learned that Shen Mianmian was dating He Nan, she thought it was strange, but after meeting He Nan, she immediately felt the two were a match made in heaven, so perfectly suited for each other.
