Chapter 243: Chapter 243: Better to Be Fat like a Pig
Shen Mianmian glanced at her lightly and unhurriedly picked up her slippers, heading to the main room to soak her feet in hot water.
Zhou Siyu stared at her, saying with smug satisfaction, "Dawdle all you want, you still have to do my homework, or wait for Auntie Zhou to deal with you tomorrow!"
"As long as I finish your homework, what does it matter what time I do it?"
Shen Mianmian slowly picked up the notebook Zhou Siyu had placed on the stool without any sign of impatience, invoking a stomach full of rage in Zhou Siyu.
Normally, Shen Mianmian was not like this when doing homework, clearly she was reluctant to do it for her.
"Can you even do it?" Zhou Siyu suddenly began to worry about Shen Mianmian’s capabilities, almost forgetting that the girl was a poor student.
"If you’re worried, do it yourself."
Zhou Siyu snorted in warning, "You’d better not play any tricks and just do it properly, or else I’ll call Auntie Zhou over."
The less Shen Mianmian wanted to help her, the more Zhou Siyu wanted to force her to do it.
After watching Shen Mianmian for a while, her eyes began to feel sore, so she simply lay in bed with her head sticking out, fearing Shen Mianmian would slack off and looked up from time to time.
Ten minutes went by like this and Shen Mianmian hadn’t finished a single problem; yet, tiredness crept over her, and before she knew it, she fell asleep.
Hearing her steady breathing, Shen Mianmian’s mouth curved into a sly smile, and her pen began to move swiftly in her hand.
The next morning, Zhou Siyu woke up, and the first thing she did was look in the mirror to see if the swelling on her face had gone down; she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing Shen Mianmian combing her hair, she asked, "Did you finish my homework last night?"
"Mhm," Shen Mianmian responded indifferently.
Zhou Siyu always felt Shen Mianmian wasn’t that obedient and eyed her suspiciously.
Meeting her gaze, Shen Mianmian shrugged, "If you’re worried, why don’t you check it yourself?"
"You better not let me find out you’ve been messing around."
Zhou Siyu gave Shen Mianmian a warning, and actually took out her notebook to check the work. Indeed, the homework was done, but before she had time to scrutinize the questions, Zhou Lanfang was calling for breakfast from outside.
She shoved the notebook into her bag and glared at Shen Mianmian before walking out.
Zhou Lanfang had cooked a pot of potato porridge and made Zhou Siyu a steamed egg special, "Siyu, eat up. After you finish, your aunt will take you to school and then we’ll go and buy you some gloves in town."
At the sight of the steamed egg, Zhou Siyu’s mouth watered; she took the bowl, ate two big spoonfuls, and even scooped up another spoonful insisting on feeding Zhou Lanfang.
"I don’t want any," Zhou Lanfang refused, "Eat more. Once you get into university and earn money, you can buy some for your aunt."
"Auntie, when that time comes, I’ll definitely have you eat eggs every day until you’re sick of them," Zhou Siyu promised grandly.
"My Siyu is really filial," Zhou Lanfang beamed, her joyful smile seemingly unable to close.
Shen Mianmian ignored their motherly and filial display, finished her porridge, and headed off to school with her backpack.
Zhou Lanfang glanced at Shen Mianmian’s departing figure with perplexity, "This wild brat, I don’t know what she’s been eating lately, but she’s growing like a calf, getting taller by the day, her face nearly round."
As Zhou Siyu took another spoonful of the steamed egg, she thought to herself, Shen Mianmian used to eat only once a day and was still hungry, now with three full meals a day, it would be a wonder if she didn’t get fat.
Let her eat, let her keep eating until she becomes as fat as a pig.
Shen Mianmian left the house with Xiaocui as usual.
During this period, Xiaocui noticed that many people were bringing farm products to the Lu Family, and Grandfather Lu accepted them all; then on Saturdays and Sundays, Shen Mianmian and Lu Siyuan would go to the city to sell them.
