Chapter 69: Chapter 69: How Can the Village’s Land Be Given to Outsiders to Farm
The two families were about to come to blows, and later the dispute escalated to the Village Chief. How could the Village Chief not side with the villagers? Why should the villagers’ land be cultivated by outsiders? Did the outsiders give the village any money, or donate to the school? Why should they farm the land of their village? This was simply asking for trouble, what were they thinking?
The Village Chief also severely reprimanded Qin Guohua, his words were not at all pleasant. Besides, the land is no longer his, but belongs to the two children. These four acres of land have been transferred to the Hua Family for farming, and in exchange, the Hua Family gives the Qin siblings a bag of white flour every month, and the vegetables grown in the fields are for the Qin siblings to eat as they please.
If the land was left in Qin Guohua’s hands, let alone a bag of white flour, it’s doubtful he would even give a pound of it.
And now that the Hua Family had definitely taken over the land, Guo Hua no longer was the owner. Though the children are young, they still count as family members. Regarding the division of land, and other matters concerning the Qin Family, even fools are aware. Guo Hua, no matter how shameless, wouldn’t brazenly confront the Hua Family to take back the land.
At first, when Qin Xiangnuan went back and asked Qin Guohua for money, claiming Qin Xiangyang was hospitalized and needed money for his treatment, Guohua swore and cursed. People in the countryside deeply respect spirits and would rather be angered to death than confront the Qin siblings.
But Hu Li and her mother couldn’t stand it. Both were full of anger and could only curse and shout in front of the Qin siblings’ door, while Qin Xiangyang went to school. Xiang Nuan covered herself with a quilt to sleep, and sure enough, the combat power of those two was formidable.
Calling them "wolf-cubs," "orphaned pups raised without a mother’s teaching," "evil spawn of a thousand cuts," and "dog-raised brats."
The two spewed a storm of spit at the door.
Finally, Xiang Nuan, fed up with listening, went directly into the system to practice calligraphy. Her handwriting was already gaining some sense of style; the system was a good teacher, providing her with perfect demonstrations, and she just needed to follow these examples to achieve it.
It wasn’t difficult, really. The hard part was just calming the mind, just persevering.
Now, every day she would practice calligraphy in the system for an hour, read for an hour, and draw for an hour.
The meticulous brushwork lesson, taught by the system, was the simplest painting technique. Roughly five hours a day, she would spend in the system, while in the real world only less than an hour would pass. Sometimes she wanted to stay longer, so she would lie down on the table to sleep for a while, then wake up and continue reading, continue practicing calligraphy.
Tomorrow she decided not to go home, but to stay at the shop instead, let them keep cursing, let them dry their mouths with cursing, if best.
As for Xiang Yang, they were both still kids after all, squeezing together was not a big deal.
Xiang Yang wouldn’t say whether school was good or bad, but after spending time with the other children, he had gotten used to it. However, after school every day, he would come to help in the shop.
Xiang Nuan filled Xiang Yang in on the village’s events, saying that there were two tigresses rampaging and cursing outside their home, and after considering, he did not let her return to avoid the risk of being bitten by them. They just laid out two sets of bedding on the floor, and truly ended up living in the shop.
It was just a place to sleep anyway, anywhere would do.
A few days later, Xiang Nuan still went back to the village once. Maybe Hu Li and her daughter got tired of cursing, but those four acres of land were set as ironclad for the Hua Family to cultivate. Hu Li must be so angry that she hasn’t eaten for days, but no matter how angry she gets, even if she dies out of anger, it’s none of the Qin siblings’ business.
"Brother, teach me how to write."
