Chapter 273: Chapter 273: Yours Is Still Just a Bedsheet
"Brother Jian, I need your help," Qin Xiangnuan hurried out of the house when she saw Jian Zhiqing return, just in case he went out again later. She has been busy lately, and so has he, making it rare for the two to meet.
"What’s up?" Jian Zhiqing stopped in his tracks, indeed, there was a faint weariness in his brows.
"I’ve been too busy lately, but it’ll get better in a few days," he sighed, indeed, he was so busy that he was almost dizzy with it.
Qin Xiangnuan brought out a big bag from the house and placed it in front of Jian Zhiqing, "Brother Jian, these are made from old clothes I’ve altered. Could you help me deliver them to Teacher Wang’s family? I’ve tailored some children’s clothes, which Teacher Wang’s family probably needs."
Jian Zhiqing picked up the clothes, looked through them and saw they were indeed children’s clothing. He was quite impressed by Qin Xiangnuan’s good heart.
Though they were called old clothes, they did not look old at all. Moreover, clothing made from used material is more comfortable for children to wear. There were all kinds of clothes, from winter coats to summer wear, and even a few pairs of small cloth shoes with tiger heads and other little animals embroidered on them, full of childlike fun and very pleasing to the eye.
Originally made from old clothes, but through Qin Xiangnuan’s skillful hands, they were transformed into something almost magical. If priced, there would certainly be people interested in buying them.
"What about mine?" Jian Zhiqing tied the bag and asked Qin Xiangnuan, what, clothes for others but none for him?
"I’ve got yours," Qin Xiangnuan put her hands behind her back, speaking earnestly, "Right now it’s just fabric, which you could use as a bedsheet if you want it now."
"Forget it, I’ll wait for the finished clothes," Jian Zhiqing couldn’t help but laugh.
"Alright, I’m heading out," he patted Qin Jinuan’s shoulder, "Be careful at home by yourself, don’t open the door for strangers."
"I know," Qin Xiangnuan thought to herself, she wasn’t a child anymore, and she had Conghua, so normally nobody would come here.
Jian Zhiqing then left with the bag. He was on his way to deliver the items to Teacher Wang. Qin Xiangnuan sat outside for a while and then went into the system. Inside the system, there were piles of fabric and clothes, both finished and unfinished.
She took a piece of dark blue fabric, thinking of making a down jacket. There was plenty of material—enough for Jian Zhiqing, and even Jian Zhiqin, that little rascal, could bask in a bit of reflected glory.
Outside, the cold wind was still biting, but it seemed as if spring had been felt already, warming the soul.
Teacher Wang carried a bag of items into the house. They lived in a tube-shaped apartment, renting a space for less than twenty yuan a month. They had to get water from outside, use the public restroom, and had placed a small stove that made up their tiny kitchen, just big enough for one person to stand in. The school dormitory was nicer but noisy with children, especially at night when they cried and bothered the other teachers, which is why Teacher Wang’s family moved out of school and here.
"What have you got there?" Teacher Wang’s wife put her child in the bed and took the items from him. Her eyes lit up when she opened the bag, "Wow, where did these clothes come from? They’re so nicely made! And these shoes..." She took them out one by one, loving each item, and the material was very soft, perfect for children to wear.
