Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Little Cousin’s Snacks
"You..." Teacher Hu was about to stand up and argue, but seeing so many people, she could only choke on a breath in her chest, bearing the discomfort herself. That remark from the teacher really did sting her heart.
Her dance, she guaranteed, was something no one had ever performed before. She thought that with the level of the elementary school students and the older, more traditionally-minded teachers in the school, nobody could put together any decent dance. Her class’s dance would surely be the best, and even with three schools competing, what of it? She graduated from a dance school. It was just the costumes that were really making her uncomfortable at the moment; unable to find suitable attire, she could only have the little girls wear princess dresses, and the little boys wear white shirts and black shorts. But even so, the clothes were a mess that made her want to curse. It was bad enough that the lengths of the princess dresses didn’t match, but the colors were different too, and even the styles of sandals and the lengths of sleeves varied.
However, after seeing the clothes worn by students from other classes, she felt much more at ease. None of the students’ clothes were exactly alike. At that point, she relaxed a bit, thinking that the class she led would certainly get first or at least a solid second place.
But she never dreamed that the third class, which she had never taken seriously, would actually wear matching outfits, and even the hair ties on their heads were identical and looked very nice. Old Man Jiang was over fifty years old, and all year round, for performances, he only had students sing in a choir. How could he possibly get them to dance? She had heard that Mr. Jiang’s class was going to dance this time, but she didn’t believe it. How could an old man possibly choreograph a dance?
Yet now, seeing Old Man Jiang confidently prepared and his third class in their refreshing outfits, her face darkened, and a wave of discomfort arose in her heart.
Qin Xiangnuan leaned back in her chair; she was a bit hungry.
Jian Zhiqing pulled something out from his pocket and placed it in front of her.
It turned out to be a pack of biscuits.
"Where did these come from?" Qin Xiangnuan accepted them and started eating right away; she really was too hungry, her stomach was growling.
"Taotao’s snacks," Jian Zhi sat with his legs crossed in the chair, feeling no qualms about giving away his little cousin’s snacks.
After eating half, Qin Xiangnuan couldn’t eat anymore.
"Forget it, I’m done," she returned the biscuits to Jian Zhiqing, "Taotao will cry to death if he doesn’t have anything to eat later." She wouldn’t take food from a child; that would be too embarrassing.
"No problem, he’s going to sleep after the performance," Jian Zhiqing stuffed the biscuits back into Qin Xiangnuan’s hand. They had eaten breakfast at home earlier, but Qin Xiangnuan had been selling pancakes and was dragged out as soon as she got home, so she probably hadn’t eaten much.
And he guessed right. Qin Xiangnuan indeed hadn’t eaten and was so hungry now. When Jian Zhiqing put the biscuits back into her hand, his fingers touched her fingertips, causing her heart to skip a beat. She felt relieved that it was dimly lit; otherwise, she wouldn’t know how to escape the embarrassment.
On the auditorium stage, the leaders were giving speeches. As for what they said in the middle, Qin Xiangnuan had been zoned out and didn’t catch it clearly. She only heard something about one of the leaders speaking into the microphone, saying, "Everyone, itch to stand, sing the national anthem."
