Those who had arrived at the mansion didn’t notice that Wang Chiang and their mother were absent, Wang Gang also went back and went over to his bedroom to rest. Everyone was exhausted and didn’t have a mind to think extra.

"I already sang all kinds of lullabies for you, why aren’t you sleeping already? Mnnh?" Su Wei Wei was left speechless with a dry throat still seeing those eyes wide open gazing at her which didn’t seem to close up any time soon, she didn’t know putting a kid to sleep was this difficult.

"I told you I will be fine, don’t exhaust yourself! You can go ahead and rest." With signs, he politely notified her that he would be just okay without being lulled. He was already used to it.

"Okay, let me tell you a story then, maybe you will sleep..." Su Wei Wei got into the bed and with a different cover, she covered herself laying there next to him. The heater was on, and the room was warm.

He politely nodded his head, Su Wei Wei’s voice was warm and soothing, he didn’t mind listening to her all night long even if they would be horror stories.

"There was once a girl whose mother got married to a wicked family, and her mother had turned her to her kid’s nanny...." She went on narrating a story but it was her reality, she had read too little to have any kind of stories to narrate to a boy of ten years old.

The boy can be young but he would still differentiate between fiction and reality, knowing this could be her story, he stretched his hand and gently tapped on her shoulders while she went on narrating.

That sweet image was harmonious and warm and they easily connected to each other... It was like two siblings who have lived eternity together.

After a few minutes, they both had fallen asleep without even completing this story. Their bedroom door wasn’t open but they didn’t lock it.

After almost an hour had passed, Huo Shen noticed that Su Wei Wei hadn’t come out of the guest room that the kids were occupying.

"What’s taking her so long?" He lowly mumbled.

After today’s kidnapping incident, he had a sudden fear and phobia that he might turn his head around and she is completely gone and nowhere to be found. His fears were valid after what he went through today emotionally.

"You aren’t concentrating!" Huo Zheng slightly frowned seeing him out of mind and zoned out like he was in his own world.

"I apologize..."

"Let me check on her first..." He excused himself and got up as he had begun to feel restless, he walked over to the guest room, and carefully opened the door minimizing the sounds before peeking inside and seeing the tiny bumps lying on the bed tucked in.

He tiptoed into the room and regulated the heater, checked the French windows facing the garden were locked, before balancing their fallen covered tucking them in.

He bent over and gently caressed her hair gazing at that sleeping face before planting a soft kiss on her forehead, he didn’t want to disturb her by moving her from one place to the other knowing she needed much rest.

After kissing her, he switched the lights off turning only the dimly led ones before tiptoeing out of the guest room and carefully closing the door.

He called two guards over and instructed them to stand at the door and keep watch just in case of anything. Even though he had only his men around, he didn’t trust that girl and Huo Dong, what if they attacked them while he was busy having his virtual meeting? He was suddenly developing a fear of the unknown and more so of the darkness.

He was okay for her to fall asleep there and accompany them while they accompanied her as he had a lot of things to take care of, they had gotten delayed because of her kidnap, but now, he could work with a calm mind knowing she was in the mansion.

He strode back into the sitting area gazing at the couch where the old man was lying still and hadn’t woken, "Nanny Wei, you can go and get some rest, we will watch over him... Don’t worry, I won’t do anything." He politely dismissed her knowing she might be overthinking, she had covered him with a heavy shawl and the heater was turned on, he wasn’t going to feel any cold.

"Good night Master Huo..." Feeling assured, Nanny Wei bowed her head respectfully before walking out of the mansion over to her mini condominium kind of house. She was exhausted and hadn’t gotten time to talk to Wei Wei and know what had happened to her earlier on and why they had kidnapped her.

She closed the door locking it before changing her clothes into her pajamas. She wrapped her hair before she began preparing her bathtub, soaking in was better to relax her muscles that were tensed up.

"Uuggh..." She began her skincare routine, actually, if you looked at Nanny Wei, she looked younger than her age, she knew how to care for her skin, and you would think she was in her early thirties.

"A secret sealed package was delivered to Nanny Wei this afternoon, the gate soldiers received it and placed it in her bedroom..." Seeing she was out of sight, Huo Qi notified him, he had already been told but they had too many things at hand to take care of and with the search of Su Wei Wei, everything was thrown to the back of his mind.

"A secret package? That has to be a dress she previously ordered, she said this morning that that she had made orders for her dress last night..." Huo Shen didn’t think it was something that suspicious at all, Nanny Wei was his trustworthy person and a family member he loved, he was even comfortable letting her acknowledge Su Wei Wei as her adopted mother knowing she was a good woman and if she hadn’t sacrificed her life for him, she would be having a family of her own. You could tell how trustful he was when it came to Nanny Wei.
