Next morning.

As the first rays of sunlight entered the room, Rose woke up from her deep sleep. She felt her head hurt as if someone had hit it with a hard object.

Rose squeezed her hair tightly with both hands to reduce the pain. After feeling better, she looked around, and to her surprise, she realized something.

"Why am I here? How?"

She remembered last night, she had spoken to Willard on the beach. But now? She is in the bedroom, and the sun has risen.

Again she squeezed her hair, trying to remember what happened last night. However, no matter how hard she tried, her memories still faded. And when she realized she had put on her nightgown, she was even more flustered.

"What happened last night!?"

She forced her heavy and stiff body to sit on the side of the bed. Her head still hurt, but she endured it to find Evan.

"Evan, where are you!?" She called him, but he didn’t reply. "Am I dreaming!?" She looked over to the side of the bed where Evan was sleeping; looks disheveled, which meant she had slept with him last night.

But where is he?

With difficulty, she made her way to the bathroom, checking to see if Evan was inside. However, she did not find Evan there,

"Does he cook outside?" She wondered.

After Rose brushed her teeth and washed her face, she left the room and found the living room and kitchen area empty. Evan was nowhere to be seen either.

"Where did he go? Why didn’t he say a word?"

Rose returned to the bedroom, looking for her cell phone. She called him, but again she felt disappointed because she could hear Evan’s cell phone ringing from the nightstand beside the bed.

She went out and sat on the terrace to enjoy the seemingly calm blue sea to calm her mind.

But her mind couldn’t calm down because many questions arose, making her even more confused about why Evan suddenly left without notice. Never before had the man done anything like this. Is he mad?

No!! There’s no way Evan could be mad at her, right!?

Maybe Evan was chatting with the island manager because he got bored waiting for her to wake up!?

Or...

Maybe he was having breakfast in a restaurant with the others?

But all that is not possible.

"Evan... Please come back. Don’t make me worry!!"

After thinking for a moment, she calls Sam — maybe he knows where Evan is.

Sam answered the phone on the second ring, "Sam... have you seen Evan?"

"Boss Evan!?" Sam felt strange. Why is the lady boss looking for her husband so early?

"Yeah, have you seen him this morning?"

"No, I haven’t. Lady Boss... so, boss Evan goes somewhere without telling you? When was the last time you saw Boss Evan, Boss?" Sam looked at his watch. It was only seven in the morning. He didn’t hear her answer, so he continued, "Boss, do you want me to look for him?"

Sam asked as he walked out of his bungalow. He was about to close the door behind him, he saw Evan run past his cabin.

"No need, Sam! Alright, thanks..."

Before Rose ended the call, Sam said, "Huh! I saw him..."

"Really? Where is he?" Rose immediately got up from her seat and walked in. She needed to change her nightgown to her proper clothes. She wanted to go after Evan.

"I just saw him running past my place. Looks like he’s headed to the villa..." Sam said.

"Ah! OK, Sam. Thanks..." She hung up.

Instantly she felt relieved. Earlier, she had thought Evan was angry with her, yet her worry was groundless — he was taking his morning run. Gosh!

Feeling better, she climbed back into bed and checked her cell phone. She wanted to read the news this morning. Before she could do that, she saw a text message from Willard, sent at 6 AM.

[WH:] Rose, sorry I couldn’t stay a little longer. I have important business to do today. (Sad Icon)

[WH:] I’m sorry I couldn’t say goodbye to you in person. (Sad Icon)

[WH:] Enjoy your vacation... (Smile Icon) (Wave Icon)

Rose could only laugh bitterly. She had already imagined this would happen — A superstar like Willard can’t spend two nights and three days staying here.

However...

It wasn’t just Willard who was busy. Her brother Noah texted her too.

[Noah:] Morning, little sister. If you are reading this text, it means that I have arrived at the capital city (Grin Icon)

[Noah:] Sorry sister, I have to leave. I have urgent work. I’ll call you later.

[Noah:] Enjoy your vacation... See ya soon!

"Weird! Why did they suddenly leave together?"

Rose was a little disappointed that Noah left the island. There was so much she wanted to talk to him about.

She threw away her phone and decided to continue sleeping. But before she could sleep, she heard the door open.

"EVAN!" Unknowingly Rose screamed his name. Her smile grew wider when she saw him standing before the open door.

He only wore a short-sleeved tracksuit and running pants that exposed his muscular arms and thighs. His body was drenched in sweat and looked shiny in the light.

Even though she had seen him like this many times in the summer when they were running, she was never bored and always admired his perfect figure.

"Why didn’t you wake me up? I could run with you..." Rose said.

"I didn’t have the heart to wake you up..." Evan said with a smile as he walked in and stood at the end of the bed. His eyes stared at her wife lovingly. "You just woke up?"

"Hmm... I was looking for you. I thought you ran off this island, leaving me." She chuckled.

"Hahaha, you’re so funny! Are you hungry?"

"Yes!"

"Wait, I’ll take a shower first, and then I’ll cook for you." He walked toward the bathroom.

But he stopped in his tracks before entering when he heard Rose ask, "Hubby, what happened last night?"
