Rebirth: Dancing In My Destiny -
Chapter 491: Vacation (3)
Chapter 491: Vacation (3)
James and Randy sat on chaise lounges near the infinity pool in the activity area. They enjoyed the sea breeze as they looked over the emerald sea.
While their partner, Renata, and Karin were ordering their lunch at the restaurant — the four decided to have lunch near the swimming pool, not far from the restaurant.
"Randy, what do you think of Danny’s girlfriend?" James had a sudden urge to gossip about poor Danny.
Randy stopped reading his book and glanced at James, "They look good together."
"Yeah, I saw it too. Danny likes her. I mean, he’s in love with her. But I’m not really comfortable talking to that girl. She looks distant. She doesn’t even talk to us much."
Randy chuckled before saying, "Man... It’s just your opinion. Don’t judge people by what you see!" He continued reading his book, signaling he didn’t want to waste time chatting with James.
But, of course, this shameless James didn’t allow Randy to ignore him. He said, "Yeah, I hope so. Mmm... Man, how about you? When are you going to propose to Renata!?"
Randy, who had just been immersed in reading his book, immediately froze. His facial expression slowly changed from calm to annoyed.
He opened his mouth several times but couldn’t bring out any words to refute James.
When Randy was confused about what to say, at the same time, Rose’s voice was heard from behind.
Randy was relieved. Finally, someone saved him. He ignored James’ mocking smile — at this moment, he didn’t have an answer to his question.
"Rose, Evan, you guys finally appear. Come join us here!" Randy shouted.
"Hey guys..." Rose sat on another chaise chair with Evan. She was surprised to see Randy’s happy expression. "Did something happen, Randy? You look so terribly happy." She asked curiously.
Before Randy could answer, James nonchalantly chimed in, "He’s about to propose to sister-in-law Renata!" He said in his low tone, but Rose and Evan clearly heard him. They were both taken aback by this sudden news.
"R-Really, Randy?" Rose was the first to congratulate Randy. "Oh my god! Randy, congratulations... I hope it goes well until the wedding day." This was the only good news she had heard since arriving on this island.
Randy was rendered speechless. He didn’t say anything, but his hardcover book landed on James’ head.
Everyone was shocked to see Randy’s reaction. Finally, this man showed his angry expression. After all the years they had known each other, they had never seen him like this.
Turns out he wasn’t a monk after all. He was only human, just like the rest of the people.
"Damn it! Why did you hit me?" James was holding Randy’s book while laughing at how dark Randy’s face was now. He was amused looking at Randy’s rare angry expression.
"Aren’t you ashamed? You are so old, yet you still like to tell lies? Shame on you." Randy sneered at James.
James was not annoyed with Randy’s sentence. He actually laughed, feeling happy to anger him.
"What? So, that’s not true!?" Rose was stunned. She narrowed her eyes at Randy, waiting for an explanation.
"James is so noisy!" Randy finally spoke up after taking a few deep breaths. "Well, to be honest with you guys, I have plans to propose to her, but I don’t know how..." He had no choice but to say what was on his mind.
He’s known Renata for a long time, and they’re both very comfortable with each other. Still, their relationship was limited to the friend zone for years, nothing more, nothing less.
However, this sudden vacation made him consider taking more serious steps with Renata. He has many plans, but he is afraid to carry them out.
He was unfamiliar with this love matter — more complicated and troublesome than running a giant company.
"Wow!! Really?? Congrats, man..." Even though James was very shocked, he quickly congratulated Randy. He no longer wanted to tease him.
"Randy, I’m rooting for you, there’s no need to think about how to, but you need to tell her. You have to remember, she’ll never know what’s going on in your head. And do it soon. You have to propose before someone does it faster than you...."
Rose said while feeling like something pricked at her heart — remembering her relationship with Dustin. Her one-sided love ended tragically because she finally chose another man, Evan.
Even though she made that decision after she was reborn, one thing she will never forget, her decision hurt Dustin so much. That man almost forced her in the wrong way to accept his feelings.
Just thinking about those dark times could make her whole body feel uncomfortable.
She didn’t want that to happen to Randy. Now, she is truly happy for him because he bravely decided to take his relationship to a more meaningful level, marriage.
"Thanks, Rose," said Randy awkwardly.
"Anytime! Ah, for how to do that, you should ask my husband. He’s pretty good at it..." Rose glanced at Evan with a faint smile — She still remembers how this man proposed to her.
"We should talk about that later, Randy..." Evan said.
While Rose and the others were talking, Renata and Karin had just finished ordering lunch and returned to see Randy and James. However, before they arrived, they heard what they were talking about.
Instantly Renata and Karin stopped their step. Not knowing whether to keep approaching them or stop where they were.
"Oh my God, Randy is going to propose?" Renata silently talked to herself, feeling shocked.
She had been waiting for Randy to propose to her for a long time, but hearing him make plans to propose somehow made her legs feel weak and her heart feel uneasy.
Worried that Randy saw her, Renata pulled Karin away from the pool. They needed to hide and pretend they didn’t hear anything — they entered the restaurant again and sat there.
"Sis Renata, congratulations..." Karin was happy to see Renata blushing, sitting in front of her.
Renata opened her mouth but failed to make a sound. She shyly smiled at Karin, then lowered her head to hide her blushing face.
