Evan turned to look at Paul, "Fight? My wife fought with her mother?"

Something Evan never imagined would happen. He knew very well how strong the bond between his wife and mother-in-law was. It’s impossible if they fight.

"Y-Yes, Young Master," Paul replied.

"About what?"

"I’m sorry I didn’t hear what they were arguing about. However, Mrs. Spencer left the house while the Young Madam had lunch. This was odd because usually, Mrs. Spencer would stay here with her daughter, and they would end the day with afternoon tea...." Paul explained.

Evan pondered momentarily, "Maybe my mother-in-law has some urgent business." He still couldn’t believe his wife would clash with her mother.

"Young Master, one of the staff, saw Mrs. Spencer crying while getting in the car, and... Laura also saw Young Madam crying." Paul’s words made Evan feel tense. Now he believes something happened between his wife and in-laws.

"Mhm... well, you may go now." Evan dismissed Paul and entered the bedroom.

Evan’s gaze fell on the petite woman sleeping on the bed. Slowly he approached the bed. He stood at the end of the bed in silence. For a moment, he stared at the woman he loved so much, with countless questions starting to fill his mind.

"What exactly happens till you make your mother angry?" He murmurs silently.

He saw her forehead crease in her sleep. It looked like she had a bad dream.

Evan slowly walked to the side of the bed and then gently covered her with the blanket so his movements wouldn’t wake her. His eyes were still on her delicate face — she looked so beautiful in her sleep.

Satisfied to see Rose’s face, he leaned down and kissed right between her eyebrows.

Then, Evan stood up. He took off his suit and tie, rolled his sleeves up to his elbows, and walked to a study table in the corner. He needed to check something, so he used his wife’s laptop. His finger movements were so fast only powerful hackers had that kind of ability, not even Oscar Jennings.

After a few seconds, his finger stopped after retrieving the CCTV footage from the dining room.

He put on earphones and heard his wife’s conversation with his mother-in-law. After a few minutes passed, his face darkened.

Evan took a deep breath and then turned over to the bed. He saw she was still fast asleep. A smile appeared on his face, but no matter how much he smiled, it never reached his eyes and the emotion on his face never really left his heart.

Now, he knew why his wife was stressed recently. And also in a bad mood. Apparently, her mother was bothering her with the pregnancy — he needed to talk to his father-in-law.

Evan couldn’t let his wife’s mental health suffer because of pregnancy matters.

However, Evan didn’t dare speak directly to Molly. Although he could guess why Molly was acting like that to Rose because she felt lonely after what she had been through with her daughter so far — Molly wants to expand her family. But, it seems Molly didn’t realize that what she was doing was making her daughter depressed.

Evan decided to call Nicholas now, but before he could turn off the laptop, his eyes fell on the browser. He was surprised to see Rose’s browser history.

He felt his blood boil. No wonder his wife feels stressed. Today, a lot has happened to her; She reads the trash news about Carla Miller and browses about IVF.

His face turned redder and redder as if his blood vessels were about to burst.

Carla Miller has been burying herself in her apartment since yesterday. She didn’t understand why the gossip news about her and Evan suddenly disappeared!?

She had paid dearly for a hacker, to help her upload photos and create an article about the gossip she was dating Evan. Surprisingly, all the articles vanished and the backup pictures on her cell phone also disappeared without a trace.
