Rebirth: Dancing In My Destiny -
Chapter 440: New Year
Chapter 440: New Year
Later...
Everyone inside the house came onto the balcony to join Evan and the others.
Soon the new year will come. And every year, there is a fireworks show in the city center. They will enjoy the fireworks show from the balcony.
Evan immediately stood up from his seat and walked over to his wife, who was now standing alone in the corner. He gave her another winter coat to protect her from the cold wind.
As Rose felt a coat drape over her shoulders, she turned her head. She finds Evan standing behind her. He smiled affectionately at her.
She smiled back at him before saying, "Hubby, how was the talk with Oliver? Everything okay?" She asked.
Rose knew Evan had talked to Oliver about the Hester Group.
"Hmm, everything is fine!" Evan said while hugging her from behind. And at the same time, the firework show started. They watched a beautiful light that covered the dark sky above the city. As a sign, the first day of the new year has arrived.
"Happy new year Mrs. Rose Collins..." Evan’s gentle voice made Rose smile.
"Happy new year to you too, Mr. Evan Collins, my kind and hot husband."
A kiss landed on her soft neck. It made her giggle, feeling the warmth of Evan’s lips enter her pores. She instantly forgot everything around her as if only the two of them were on the balcony.
Evan turned her body to face him and buried her tiny body into his long coat.
She smiled at how sweet her husband was. She said nothing but rested her head on his sturdy chest and heard the following words.
"Wife, last year was the happiest time in my life. And I hope this year will be even more fantastic for both of us. I will never stop loving you, my dear..." His voice sounded sincere.
Even though she had been married to Evan for a long time, every time this man used sweet words, her heart still felt flattering.
Slowly she raised her head to look at him. Her heart slightly trembled when she met his tender gaze. "Hubby, I also pray that this year will be better than the last. I hope our love will only grow stronger. And I hope..." her tongue suddenly went numb before the words left her lips.
She felt her body tense as the last desire she desperately wanted, torment her mind. A child is all she wants now. She wanted to have children with the man she loved.
But it seems the longing to have children has not yet come. It’s been a few months since she married Evan, but there is no good news for her to share either. There have been dozens of test packs that have ended up in the trash can. And every time she did that, tears filled her eyes, and paint tortured her heart.
She never told Evan about this. She was too worried that Evan would be disappointed in her.
So, yes... a child would be her biggest wish for the following year. She wished God would bless her and Evan with cute creatures filling their home on the misty mountain.
"What hope?" Evan was curious when he saw her stop her words. "Wife, tell me, I will grant your wish, whatever you want..." he kissed her forehead gently.
Rose was reluctant to tell him. She laid her head again on his chest and closed her eyes. For a few seconds, she was in profound silence.
"Are you tired? Would you like to go back and rest?" Evan’s tone sounded worried. She shook her head and looked at him again.
"Hubby, I’m sorry...."
"Huh!? For what?" Evan was confused by how low her mood was now. Does something bother her now?
"I’m sorry because I’m not pregnant yet!" Rose’s voice was so soft it was barely audible to her ears. However, Evan clearly heard her words. "Evan, what if I can’t..." Rose couldn’t finish her words because Evan’s lips covered hers.
A few seconds later, their lips slowly separated. Evan said gently, "Dear wife, you should stop blaming yourself. I never want to have children if you are depressed like now." Evan tightened his embrace. "And, you must believe, we will have children. Don’t say, what if!"
He turned her body to watch the fireworks again then she whispered in her ear, "Promise me, don’t think about it anymore. We’ll try our best. God will definitely give us as many children as we want..." Evan said after the last fireworks went off in the sky.
"Hmm..."
"Good! Now, come on in. You should take a rest now."
Rose agreed with Evan. She did feel tired and sleepy after eating much. Earlier her aunt Amanda had been feeding her non-stop. Now she feels like there’s glue on her eyelashes. It was very difficult to open her eyes.
After saying goodbye to her friends and family, Rose left the third floor and headed straight for her bedroom on the second floor.
As for Evan, Rose asks him to accompany them all as hosts.
When everyone had gone inside the house, Oliver and Sean were still standing in the corner with their backs facing the house. They were enjoying the scenery of the city while talking about something. They look closely at each other. Occasionally they laughed while talking.
But that wasn’t what Keria Spencer saw. She saw her brother scolding her boyfriend, Oliver.
"This!? Older brother already knows about our relationship?" She murmurs. Her heart was pounding, and her anxiety was getting worse.
And when she saw Sean pat Oliver on the shoulder, she felt even tenser. She could feel a great power rising inside her. She was not afraid of her older brother. She should stop him from insulting Oliver.
With quick steps, Keira approached them, and this is what she heard,
"You already decided to cut ties with..."
Her heart trembles as she marches to stand between Sean and Oliver. Her burning eyes looked sharply at her older brother.
