Chapter 283: Parent’s Wedding (4)
At the same time, on the second floor of the mansion. Molly is alone and looks tense in a room beautifully decorated with her favorite carnations.
Feeling too old to be a bride, Molly has asked Amanda to make her a simple wedding dress without too many accessories and not anywhere near grandiose. She wanted to look simple and elegant. That’s it.
Molly couldn’t sit still.
Several times she checked her appearance in the mirror. Worried, the simple white A-line wedding dress that wrapped her body was not neat. Her eyes filled with tears when she saw her appearance in this sacred gown. She was moved; finally, she had the opportunity to wear this beautiful dress after a long time. It took her forty-five years to become a bride.
It was as if someone threw a rock into a calm lake, causing ripples. That was how she felt every time she saw her reflection in the mirror.
Slowly she touched her short hair and left it as it was. She only pinned a diamond hair clip that made her hair look different.
"You look beautiful, Molly. You have to smile! Promise me no tears today..." Molly tried to comfort herself when she saw her reflection in the mirror; an awkward smile appeared on her nervous face.
After a few seconds of staring at herself in the mirror, she slowly walked towards the window when faintly she heard a beautiful melody from outside.
Molly opened the curtains slightly to peek into the backyard. From where she stood, she could see the beautiful backyard decorated with her favorite flowers and white and gold ornaments. It looks simple but gorgeous, even with gold ornaments. She loves how Amanda can manage simplicity without making it dull or excessively grand.
However, when she saw many people in the area, the nervousness that had faded away slowly returned.
"Why are so many people present?" She murmurs.
Molly couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She tried to count but lost interest as she counted over forty neatly arranged chairs.
"Oh my God! Why did Nick invite so many people?"
Nick once told her that only their immediate family and close friends were at their wedding. But, looking from a distance, she knew who was present below. Some of the figures that Molly often sees on TV were present at her wedding. Of course, she was getting nervous. Moreover, she married when she was not young anymore.
Just before she was about to close the curtains, she saw her daughter sitting with her son-in-law beside her. She chuckled slightly.
"Naugty girl! Why didn’t she come here?"
Molly really needed her daughter right now. She will need her little girl to calm her nerves. She wanted to call her but didn’t know where her cell phone was. Looks like she forgot to bring it.
She felt lonely in this empty room, waiting for Nick to come, but he still hadn’t appeared after ten minutes of leaving her alone in this room. She took a deep breath as she walked back to the sofa.
It wasn’t long before she heard footsteps approaching. Wondering who would enter the room, she stared at the tightly closed door.
When the door opened, she was surprised to see Nick standing at the door. He looks very handsome in his black tuxedo that wraps his tall body perfectly. His dark blond hair was neatly combed differently from what she was used to seeing in the hospital.
At this moment, Molly’s heart couldn’t rest easy seeing how handsome Nick was. She tried to avert her gaze to make her heart feel more at ease, but his piercing eyes didn’t seem to give her the chance to do so. She was hypnotized. Can’t move at all. She couldn’t even glance anywhere else.
Her heart started beating fast as they looked at each other for a moment without saying anything. But, only a few seconds passed, as if someone had turned off the air conditioner... she felt her whole body heat up.
How could this man become more handsome every day she saw him?
Molly’s heart started pounding, and she could not say anything to him. She smiled at him, too embarrassed to honestly tell him; that he was very handsome and afraid that someone would steal him from her.
"Are you bored here alone? Do you want me to call our daughter to accompany you?"
Nicholas smiled happily, seeing his bride looking so elegant in her wedding dress. He slowly entered the room and joined her, sitting on the sofa.
"That little girl completely forgot about me. How could she go straight to the wedding venue?" Molly chuckled. "What time does the wedding start?"
"My Love, we will start when you are ready..."
Molly was taken aback when she heard the way Nick called her. Sounds very sexy. For a moment, she tried to calm her heart which began to beat faster. Again.
"N-Nick, I’m ready..."
"I can see it. You seem impatient to get started..." Nick smiled, trying to calm her down. But Nick’s efforts did not make Molly calmer. Instead, Molly’s face turned tense as she remembered who would take her to walk to the aisle. She doesn’t have a father.
"Nick, who will accompany me to walk to the aisle?" Molly asks. Last night, she even planned on walking with her daughter because there was no way she could walk with Nick’s dad, right!?
Nicholas took his wife’s hand. How surprised he was when he felt her palm freeze. Apparently, his wife was very nervous.
"Molly, we’re officially married, so don’t worry, it’s just a family celebration. Everyone that presents here is my family and close friends, so you don’t have to be nervous. We just need to exchange vows, then say hello to our parents. After that, we will have lunch with all of them...."
Hearing her husband’s words made Molly’s heart slightly relieved. However, she couldn’t stop her mind from thinking about things she shouldn’t. And that made her even more nervous.
