Chapter 225: Soulmate

At the Promise Hospital.

It’s been three nights since her mother underwent major surgery, but there’s still no sign of her waking up. Now her status has changed to a coma patient. It was the first time for Rose to witness her family or a close person in a coma. So far, she only knows through Korean dramas or movies she ever watches about it. Now she feels sympathy for anyone who has any comatose family member.

The last few days, she did read various articles or confessions of people who had been in a coma or even stories of families who had comatose families.

It felt like half of her soul was lost when she read an article about Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud in Saudi Arabia. The man has been in a coma for a dozen years and has not yet woken up until today.

After reading the news, Rose was so scared.

What if her mother was in a coma for that long?

Just imagining it made her head spin and her breath short.

She shook her head, trying to get rid of the negative thoughts in her mind and think positively.

She will believe in her father, who says her mother will undoubtedly wake up soon.

Trying to divert her mind, Rose opened her office group chat. No one in her office knew about her return and her mother’s incident except Sam. Her mind was too focused on her mother. But today, she planned to tell them about her coming back and her mother’s condition.

Besides, she also missed them. She needed her humorous friends because only Oliver and the others could make her laugh out loud. Although sometimes her friends tease her, still they can make her feel at ease whenever they chat. And she needs it.

Rose opened her office group chat. Five people were in the group, but when she opened the group, she immediately got dizzy again; there were so many unread chats. It’s about a few hundred.

"Damn! They have so much time to chat!?" Rose muttered as she lay on her bed. She scrolled through the group chat and read their latest discussion. Just reading a few chats, her cheek felt hot. She blushed.

[Oliver] Guys! Until now I can’t understand why our Boss got married first among the five of us. (Eyes roll icon)

[Danny] I know, right? And, our Boss is really heartless. She completely forgot about us. Not even once did she text or reply to our chat here. (Annoyed Icon)

[James] Damn it, Danny! How can you expect our Boss to touch her cellphone? The beast, Evan, would never give her a chance to do that... (LOL icon)

Rose almost choked to read that. She makes notes in her mind; Will smack James’ head when they meet.

[Danny] What the fuck, man! Evan is a beast. That man had an eye for Rose since our first day in university. He will devour her completely...

"Damn Danny! Another foolish man is waiting for me to smack!!" Rose says as she continues to read.

[Randy] Do you guys want to die? Did you guys forget something?

[Oliver]?

[Danny] ??

[James] ? ? ?

[Randy] Your Boss can read this chat! (Rolls Eyes Icon)

[James] Hahaha, don’t worry, Randy. She won’t read this.

[Randy] Yo man, you will be in trouble if she reads it. Alright, I got to go now. Unlike you guys, I have lots of things to do! (Wave Icon)

[James] Nope, she won’t read it. She ain’t got the time. And I bet you guys if she reads these, I will buy you all lunch for a month.

[Oliver] Guys, how about we go to the Empire Club? I think we need entertainment. No, we need to find our soulmate (Serious Face Icon)

Rose laughed. Just reading their chat can make her laugh out loud like now. Because now she felt in a good mood, she decided to play along with them.

[Rose] My dear friends Danny and James, I will wait for you guys tomorrow. In Promise hospital!

[Rose] I will provide your funeral. Because my beast husband will definitely kill you guys... (Grin Icon)

After a few seconds of waiting, no one replied to her chat. She can guess they all must throw their phone by now. Just before she wanted to turn off her phone, her phone rang again.

[Randy] Rose, are you coming back? When?

[Randy] Why are you in the hospital? (Worry Icon)

Rose didn’t reply to Randy’s chat, but she called him instead. She tells him about her sudden return, and she also tells him about her mother.

After telling him everything, she asks him to tell the others to come to the hospital tomorrow. She needs to talk with them about work.
