Chapter 165: This Woman Knows!

Upon arriving at the office, Rose immediately met Oliver who reported to her about the gold mine. She paused to think about something.

Staring silently at Rose made Oliver believe this girl must know about the gold mine. He couldn’t help but laugh bitterly, realizing that his best friend was one step ahead of him. This girl was deceiving him. She had managed to hide something so crucial like this. Damn it!

The thing troubling his mind at the moment is how Rose could know about this when the information about the land was top secret.

From the digital footprint, only a few people knew about the mine’s existence. In fact, all the researchers who first discovered gold are now dead. Their deaths would raise the curiosity of anyone who looked into it. Some died from accidents and illness, and the time of each event was not far apart.

Oliver was sure that the deaths of those people were not coincidental.

Just thinking about it made Oliver’s body shudder. He crossed his arms in front of his chest as his sharp eyes darted into Rose. She seemed calm, but he could see from the look in her eyes that this girl looked dreadful at this moment.

"So why did you hide this from me, Rose?" Oliver asked again when he saw that this girl was keeping her mouth tightly shut. "Did you know that your decision to buy Rapid Realty could bring us bad luck too?"

"What do you mean?" Rose frowned, confused by Oliver’s words. "Oliv, that Gold mine will be the source of our company’s wealth. Why are you cursing the land instead?"

"Indeed! But, have you ever known the story behind the discovery of that land?"

Rose was astonished. There’s a story behind it? What story?

For a few seconds, Rose tried to remember what happened in the past about the Global Group being the winning company to buy Rapid Realty. There was no bad news she had heard or read about the company afterward. From what she remembers, Global Group made a massive fortune with that land. In a short time, they became a company with substantial market caps in this country. Many mining companies from other countries compete to invest in the Global Group.

"My friend Rose! I’m glad we managed to get a Rapid Realty and a piece of land with abundant gold. However, after I researched deeper behind the company, I found that Rapid Realty is not as simple as you think. People lost their lives under suspicious circumstances because of it...."

What Oliver thought earlier was correct. Rose was utterly unaware that danger lurked them as a new owner of Rapid Realty.

Oliver could only take a deep sigh as he turned his gaze to see the building next to their office building. His eyes caught sight of the building, Starlight Apartment.

"And did you know that the building next door belongs to your fiance?"

"Yeah. That I know!"

"Did you also know this building belongs to him?"

Rose was dumbfounded. She didn’t know at all. She thought this Fortune building was owned by Dream Inc.

"Tsk, tsk... you know nothing, my friend!" Oliver turns his gaze again, looking at Rose. He knew what he said made her mind blow. She looked so shocked at this moment. "It seems there’s a lot you don’t know about him, Rose."

"My friend, so what should we do now? We just woke a sleeping lion... The people behind Rapid Realty won’t stay silent and do nothing after we snatch their gold mine, right?" Oliver continued his words again.

Rose’s heart sank. Suddenly she was at a loss for words.

While in Vale City, she had started to get suspicious when Global Group dared to bribe the committee to get a smooth acquisition of Rapid Realty. Even though this company is not promising. Only one of the company’s lands is really promising. There is a hidden treasure there, a gold mine. And as far as she knows, the gem was only found after several years when the Global group bought Rapid Realty.

But, after Oliver told the hidden story behind the company, Rose now understood why Global Group dared to bribe a high-ranking official. It turned out that the Global Group was responsible for Rapid Realty’s bankruptcy and willing to kill people for the gold mine they found.

Instantly Rose’s body felt shuddered as Oliver’s question successfully gave her a massive headache.

After a short while, Rose said, "Olive! Can you delete all the information about the land? I mean..."

"I did!" Oliver smiles calmly.

"Y-You already cleaned up?"

"Yes! But the problem is, how do we silence those who know?" Oliver takes his phone and sends a file to Rose’s email. "I just sent you the list of people who know about that gold. Not many, however, are not common people. Some are politicians who are still active in Vale city."

Rose reads Oliver’s email, and she can see five names on that list. What Oliver said was true. These people are not average and ordinary folks. They are all influential figures. One of which is the owner of the Global Group. It’s not easy to silence them.

Still deep in thought, trying to find a way to prevent the Wilson Group from becoming a victim of these mobsters, Evan’s face suddenly appeared in Rose’s mind.

It seemed she had to be honest with her fiance about this. She can’t hide it anymore. What’s more, learning from Oliver that many people had died because of that land makes her scared that something terrible may happen to her or the people she is close with.

Rose started to feel doubts when she saw that her plan was not going as smoothly as she wanted. Was God mad at her for using her knowledge from her previous life to seize other people’s belongings?

Thinking about this possibility made her whole body freeze as if someone had pushed her into a puddle of ice. Fear swallowed her because her presence in this present also changed the future.

Still afraid of the problems they will face, Rose suddenly hears Oliver’s words, "Don’t worry too much, Rose! I’ve already asked someone for help. I’m sure this guy can help us. Well, at least they will protect us...." Rose loosened her grip on Oliver’s cell phone, and she immediately turned back his phone.
