Chapter 506: Chapter 488 Extras Baili Chengye (1)

Capital City in November was already filled with a thick chill in the night air. Qi Xinrou stepped out of the fiery red sports car in her high heels, all smiles as she pushed away the car’s owner, a young man with a somewhat delicate appearance, who was embracing her.

"I’ll come up with you," the young man said, circling his arms around Qi Xinrou’s waist, and bent down impatiently to kiss her lips.

"That won’t do, my parents are also upstairs today," Qi Xinrou said with a sweet smile, pushing him away without a blink of an eye as she lied.

"Then don’t go back, come to my place instead," the young man’s downcast eyes flashed with irritation. This woman was too greedy, he thought; despite all the money he had thrown at her, he hadn’t managed to gain any advantage.

It was rare for someone like her, who never refused gifts, to act so coy. He had thought she would be easy to handle. But every time, after accepting the gifts, she would back off, always giving just enough to keep him interested, but never fully committing.

If it were not for the fact that she had graduated from B University, and that she was quite attractive, making her a great catch to show off...

Qi Xinrou could feel the young man’s displeasure and her heart sank. She quickly leaned in and lightly brushed her lips against his, then pulled away, her face blushing with feigned shyness, "Could you just be patient and wait for another couple of days? It will soon be our one-year anniversary since we met. Wouldn’t it be meaningful to save my first time for then?"

"You’ve never had a boyfriend before?" The young man’s eyes brightened, and his heart began to race with anticipation as he gazed at Qi Xinrou, unable to believe that the woman before him was still so innocent.

It was a pleasantly unexpected surprise.

"Of course not. My parents have always kept a tight rein on me. Do you think I’m the kind of woman who just throws herself around?"

Qi Xinrou, looking hurt, pushed the young man away with an expression as if she had been insulted, "I had intended to save this beautiful experience for our wedding night. But seeing how you’ve been... what exactly do you think of me? Do you only want to play around, with no intention of marrying? If that’s the case, you should find someone else. I will return your necklace and tidy up the rest tonight and return them to you tomorrow."

As she spoke, she didn’t hesitate to reach for the diamond necklace around her neck that she had put on not long ago.

"Rourou, stop," the young man quickly grabbed her hand, his eyes revealing a change to seriousness and emotion. "Of course, I’m serious about you. I’m just surprised, I thought a beautiful and charming woman like you wouldn’t lack suitors in university."

"There were certainly many who pursued me in university, but my parents always told me to prioritize my studies when I was in school. They also said a girl should respect herself, and not casually accept things from a man unless she’s sure about him."

Qi Xinrou stuck out her tongue, blushing as she took a quick glance at him before hurriedly dropping her gaze and twisting her fingers, "I actually had a secret relationship against my parent’s wishes before. That male classmate pursued me persistently, and I eventually accepted him. But I found out he always liked to take advantage of me, unable to bear even a moment without touching me, showing no respect at all. I couldn’t stand it after a few days because I found I couldn’t accept him getting close to me at all."

The young man’s eyes immediately lit up with elation, realizing that he had unwittingly stumbled upon a treasure. The person before him had not only been untouched but had practically no experience in love at all.

He chuckled as he leaned in to inhale her scent, "Then do you find my advances unbearable?"

"Hmph, what do you think? All men are the same," Qi Xinrou said as she pushed him away and headed straight for her new home.

The young man didn’t follow. He stroked his chin, thinking that he wasn’t getting any younger, and that aside from her less than impressive family background, this woman fit his criteria for a partner quite well.

Anyway, with the high output from the family’s coal mines, they were already wealthy enough and certainly didn’t need to marry into another family for alliances.

Choosing a wife should of course be someone he fancied.

It wasn’t until she stepped into the entrance of the building that the young man got into his car with a smile on his face, and the vehicle sped away leaving a trail of dust.

Qi Xinrou turned to glance back, slowly touching the diamond necklace around her neck, and the pride on her face could no longer be concealed.

The mind of a man, only that which he can’t have is considered the best. If he were to get it too easily, she knew all too well how unlikely it would be for him to continue being so utterly submissive to her.

Thinking of the membrane she had preemptively had restored -- one of her mainstays for enjoying a life of glory and wealth after marrying into a wealthy family -- her heart thumped with excitement.

As she aged, she came to understand more and more clearly what she wanted. Her mother was right; a woman must marry a wealthy man while she’s young, otherwise she might spend the rest of her life in regret.

Unbeknownst to her, this entire scene had been witnessed from above, caught in the gaze of a pair of crimson eyes hiding in the dark, seething with intense hatred.

"Ah, uh-uh--"

Standing at her own doorstep, Qi Xinrou reached out for her keys to unlock the door when suddenly her hair was violently yanked back, followed by a large hand covering her mouth and nose, pushing her into the house, and the door swiftly shut behind them.

The room was pitch dark, and even in the comfort of her own familiar home, which normally soothed her, she couldn’t calm her panicked heart. For a moment, she was filled with such regret; if she had known this would happen, she might as well have simply accepted...

She struggled, trembling with fear.

"Heh, scared now? ’See the new one laugh, where the old one weeps.’ Rourou, how could you so quickly forget the old for the new?" After delighting in Qi Xinrou’s trembling for a while, a voice finally broke the silence.

With a "click," the light turned on.

It was Baili Chengye’s voice. How had he found her?

Qi Xinrou froze, then recalling how she had meticulously planned to break free from Baili Chengye after graduation, tricking him into going out of town, drugging him, and selling him to a brick kiln before she finally escaped, her face turned pale.

"What, don’t recognize me after just two years?" Baili Chengye dragged Qi Xinrou by her hair all the way to the living room, as if she were a dead dog being pulled along.

He was wearing a pair of dirty shoes, so filthy that their original color was indiscernible, stepping directly onto the meticulously decorated wooden floor covered with an exquisite carpet and leaving behind black footprints with every step.

Slamming Qi Xinrou’s face onto the coffee table, Baili Chengye sat down on the sofa, watching with a smirk as she struggled to lift her head, looking at him as if she’d seen a ghost.
