Before Gu Feng could react, Ye Man’s mother got angry, raising her hand as if to hit her.

"Mom, don’t be angry, Xiaoman is just joking with me," Gu Feng quickly intervened.

Ye Man’s eyes reddened, totally unappreciative of Gu Feng’s gesture, and kicked him, "Who asked for your fake kindness? Now even my mom is on your side, liking you more. You must be happy, right?"

"She’s been our neighbor for many years. You can just call her ’Auntie Xiu Juan,’" Ye Man’s mother managed a smile.

"Hello, Auntie Xiu Juan."

Gu Feng graciously nodded in greeting to Xiu Juan and then turned to Ye Man’s mother, "Mom, I’ll go park the car and bring up the stuff, then we can all go up together."

"Alright, we’ll wait for you," Ye Man’s mother nodded, and Gu Feng went back to the car, parked it to the side, and got out.
