Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Grim Reaper

In the evening, just after dinner and resting for a while, Sophie Wilson curiously followed Charles Seymour downstairs: "Where are we going?"

"To see someone." Charles Seymour said succinctly, offering no further explanation.

Upon reaching the first floor, Sophie Wilson stared at the person standing in the living room in surprise: "It’s you."

"Yes, it’s me... Miss Wilson." Brother Warren forced a smile uglier than a cry, trying to appease Sophie Wilson with a look.

If he had known the money he lent would cause so many issues, he wouldn’t have lent it to Grace Wilson even if he went crazy!

Compared to Brother Warren, Sophie Wilson was more interested in someone else.

The matter she mentioned during dinner was resolved within just over an hour, and the person had been brought here.

The efficiency of that person is really high.

More importantly... he is quite attentive to what she says.

Thinking of this, Sophie Wilson felt sweetness in her heart, even greater than the taste of honey, feeling delightful.

The passionate gaze fell on him, and Charles Seymour, feigning ignorance, sat on the adjacent sofa, calmly saying: "If you have any questions, ask him directly."

"Okay." Sophie Wilson nodded, then looked at Brother Warren, "Brother Warren..."

"Please don’t... Miss Wilson, you can just call me Warren." Brother Warren, a big and burly man, said this, making Sophie Wilson feel quite a disconnect.

When he came to collect the debt from her, he wasn’t like this at all; he was quite imposing back then!

"I’ll stick with calling you Brother Warren." Sophie Wilson said with a smile, "I just wanted to ask, the IOU for the borrowed money was signed by Grace Wilson in my name, right?"

"Yes, yes..." Brother Warren responded repeatedly; with the person beside him sitting there, he was so scared that he was sweating profusely, heart trembling.

"Do you have the recording from that time?" Sophie Wilson asked.

"Yes, yes." Being able to achieve such "success," Brother Warren was obviously not a fool and quickly said, "It’s clearly recorded that the person who borrowed the money was Grace Wilson."

"If you hadn’t acknowledged this debt when I called you, I wouldn’t have dared to come to you for collecting it." Brother Warren quickly explained.

This matter had nothing to do with him, truly nothing at all.

"I just want to ask, what would happen if I couldn’t repay the money?" As soon as Sophie Wilson asked, she noticed Brother Warren freezing, his lips quivering, eyes constantly shifting with fear towards Charles Seymour.

His body language indicated he wanted to run away as fast as possible, but was rooted to the spot out of fear, unable to move an inch.

"It’s okay, I’m just asking; I know the real culprit isn’t you." Sophie Wilson consoled him, wanting to know the truth.

"Generally, it’s easier for a girl to repay..." Brother Warren squeezed out the words with a dry throat, stealing glances at Charles Seymour, almost paralyzed with fear.

His words were vague, but Sophie Wilson understood: "Repayment through body."

Before the words could even settle, a violent chill filled with icy murderous intent swept over.

"Mr. Seymour, I didn’t do anything! I really didn’t!" Brother Warren fell to his knees with a thud, weeping bitterly, just as if he had seen the Grim Reaper.

"Do you think if you’d done something, you could still be here?" Charles Seymour’s voice was as chilling as an unsheathed icy blade, killing without a trace, making Brother Warren’s cries stop instantly as if chopped abruptly in half.

"Do you know who she is?" Charles Seymour questioned in a deep voice, his eyes as cold as if they encompassed all the ancient bloodshed and slaughter.
