Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife -
Chapter 210: He Is Still Alive!
Chapter 210: He Is Still Alive!
Xavier appeared near a group of Demons engaged in earnest conversation. They were shocked to see the figure of a tall, pale-faced man with crimson eyes appearing in their midst.
One Demon, with a red face and small horns, shouted, "VAMPIRE!"
At that moment, all eyes turned to Xavier.
"Why can this Vampire enter our place?"
"Kill him!"
"Motherfucker... another one!? A Dark Angel!!"
"We are under attack!??"
"What are you guys waiting for? Kill them! It’s just the two of them—"
Before the Demon could finish his sentence, his body turned into an ice statue, and a second later, it shattered into pieces.
The once-noisy room fell into sudden silence.
Xavier didn’t give them a chance to escape. He had already shielded this place, ensuring that no one would be able to get out.
Even though she didn’t come from this realm, this was Iris’ home. He couldn’t allow these Demons to take over this realm. Moreover, humans were so weak and foolish that they could easily be used as tools by demons.
Tonight, Xavier would show them no mercy; he had to eradicate them all to prevent chaos from engulfing this realm.
’Kill them all, Lucian! But ensure the one with hellfire leaves it for me,’ Xavier commanded with unwavering authority.
Later, he moved like a shadow, so swift that no eye could track him.
In an instant, almost half of the demons in that place transformed into ice statues, shattering into pieces.
Groans and howls echoed through the vast cave as Xavier swiftly dispatched them with single, precise blows.
After a few minutes, only a few tens of demons remained.
Xavier stood in place, scanning his surroundings, and observed a few demons with a potent aura still standing. One of the blonde demons, with a tall frame, concealed himself in an unseen corner, catching Xavier’s attention.
After closely examining the Demon, Xavier’s eyes flickered as he discerned something.
"I found you!" Xavier murmured in an icy tone, appearing right behind the blonde Demon.
Before the Demon could react, Xavier’s hand pierced the man’s body from behind, extracting something from his beating heart: a small blackish-red marble with a potent hellfire aura.
Xavier held the marble with hands stained with demon blood. After discarding the Demon’s lifeless body, he closely observed the marble. Its powerful aura felt sharp enough to split the air around him.
He then turned his gaze to his surroundings and noticed all the demons were gone as Lucian incinerated the last one in the room with his dark fire.
"What did you find?" Lucian asked, landing towards Xavier while tidying up his black robe stained with the dirty blood of the creatures he had killed, and his black wings slowly vanished from his back.
"Lucian, let’s depart from this place," Xavier said, vanishing before Lucian could respond. He reappeared on the hill where he first arrived, a few miles from the demon nest.
Not long after, Lucian appears beside him.
"Inspect it yourself." Xavier handed Lucian the marble.
Lucian took the blackish-red marble from Xavier’s hand, and upon touching it, his face froze, shocked by the powerful aura radiating from it.
"T-This... why this aura!?" Lucian turned his gaze to Xavier, stunned by what he saw inside that marble—a dark hell flame similar to his but emitting the aura of a Demon King.
"He is still alive!" Xavier took a deep breath, retrieving the marble from Lucian’s hand. After placing it in a magic container, he stored it in his spatial ring.
"How is that possible!? You already killed him in the middle realm. Why does he appear in this place?" Lucian inquired, his mind swirling with countless questions, yet he knew that even Xavier might not possess the answers.
"Xavier, did God send you here due to—" Lucian’s voice abruptly vanished. He was frustrated because he couldn’t tell Xavier what had happened.
Now, left with no choice, he directed his frustration towards God.
"May I convey the urgency of our situation? Can you not allow me to reveal the danger involved here? Did you know that the Demon King is still drawing breath? Could you not make your presence known? We ask for your advice!"
Amusement appeared in Xavier’s eyes as he observed Lucian’s anger directed at God. He gently touched Lucian’s shoulder and commented, "Lucian, your frustration with Him is in vain. He remains elusive."
Lucian drew a deep breath, locking eyes with Xavier. He was aware of its futility, but the revelation of the Demon King’s existence demanded God’s attention. But how could they report if God disappeared, evading all attempts at communication?
"Now that we know he survived and gathered power in this world, what course of action do you propose?" Lucian asked.
Xavier’s gaze fixed upon the half-moon in the dark expanse. He seemed intent on discerning hidden truths. After a pause, he spoke without averting his gaze, "We locate and kill him once more."
"As your right-hand man, Xavier, I stand ready to fight by your side," Lucian declared with a resolute smile.
Xavier acknowledged Lucian’s pledge with a nod. Yet, a lingering concern occupied his thoughts, prompting him to ask, "Lucian, regarding Lady Iris—I understand you may not provide details, but let me pose another question." His once crimson eyes reverted to their original golden hue.
Aware of Iris’ middle realm origins and unexplained shared history, Xavier suspects God’s involvement in their memory loss. As he explores the unsettling possibilities, he can’t help but ask, "Lucian," he started, maintaining a calm look despite the fear plastered in his gaze, "Is there a connection between Demon King and Iris?"
"Yes," came Lucian’s immediate reply.
At that moment, Xavier’s strength seemed to wane. The dreaded revelation came true—his wife shared a past with the Demon King. The weight of this truth struck him with unparalleled force, leaving his mind in turmoil and his thoughts in disarray.
Amid this revelation, Xavier longed to behold Iris’s flawless face and enfold her in his arms. After exchanging a few words with Lucian, Xavier faded into the shadows, consumed by the weight of newfound knowledge.
