Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Jealousy, Makes One Skip Grades
"The school is indeed not home, but right now it isn’t class time, and I wasn’t disturbing you by eating," Luo Qianqian looked up at Zhang Jingjing, who was taller than her by a half head. "Moreover, can you call dropping something ’accidental’ when you slammed what I was holding in my hands on purpose? I never argue back at what you say because I don’t want trouble, and trouble like you, I don’t take to heart. I, Luo Qianqian, am never afraid of rumors, as I believe in the clear conscience of an honest person. Flies don’t sting an uncracked egg, and I’m curious why you, the fly, are targeting me?"
"You shameless thing, you are the fly, your whole family are flies!" Saying this, Zhang Jingjing threw the bag from the desk to the floor and stamped on it violently twice, "You shameless slut, thinking you’re so great for having an older boyfriend? Think cheating is so amazing? Have the guts to let them come and hit me!"
"..." After exchanging confused glances with He Wenyu for a few seconds, Luo Qianqian came to a realization—it must be about Luo Shufan and Bai Yizhu.
"Uh-huh, keep talking, Xiao Yu, remember what she’s broken of mine." Luo Qianqian laughed in extreme anger, calmly letting Zhang Jingjing continue.
"What’s the big deal if I broke it, I freaking can afford to pay for it, I bet you guys look so poor because your parents can’t bear to pay the tuition for you! Have you ever even had snacks before? You look so poor." As she spoke, Zhang Jingjing slammed Luo Qianqian’s usual sun hat that hung on the stool forcefully onto the ground and stepped on it.
"Zhang Jingjing, you’ve gone too far. This isn’t your home either, so stop throwing your temper here!" Jiang An’s face darkened as he watched the little yellow hat turn grey and black.
"This isn’t her home either. Who says she can eat whenever she wants, hand in papers early, or not do homework! We’ve all been in the class for so long, why does she get to play during class and still sit in the front row!" Zhang Jingjing screamed hysterically, not caring about the expressions of anyone else in the class.
"Because her grades are good," Class One’s homeroom teacher Teacher Wang, brought to the classroom by students who couldn’t stand to watch, instructed urgently seeing the glass on the floor. "Jiang An, get someone to clean this up. Don’t use your hands, be careful not to get hurt. You two, come with me to the office."
"Teacher, there’s no need to clean up, just call our parents." Luo Qianqian bowed her head, showing a look of aggrievement: "She said she’ll compensate for my milk, bread, and hat."
"Teacher, she started cursing at me first!" Zhang Jingjing shouted outright.
"Just sweep it up and pack it away first; it wouldn’t be good if someone gets cut. Come to the office with me first." Teacher Wang looked at Luo Qianqian with a headache, knowing very well after teaching these kids for several months that this child wasn’t one to cause problems, yet there was someone in the class who couldn’t stand the sight of her.
"Okay." Luo Qianqian kept her head down, her expression unseen by all.
"Teacher, I’m coming too." He Wenyu couldn’t stand to see her nominal sister, who was in fact her closest friend, being wronged, and her inner cosmos erupted: "I’m afraid that Qianqian will be hit by someone who doesn’t know the severity of their actions!"
Ten minutes later, Luo’s Mom and Mother He arrived by taxi. Fifteen minutes after that, Luo Qianqian’s brother and Bai Yizhu, contacted by Elder Zhang, arrived.
"Qianqian, what happened? Have you been wronged?" Luo’s Mom examined her daughter from head to toe and all around.
"Mom, I’m fine. The reason I called you is something else." Luo Qianqian revealed a smile missing a front tooth to her mom and godmother: "Mom, godmother, please go to the principal’s office. I’ll tell you about this matter later."
Before Teacher Wang could say a word, he saw the two parents being sent away by Luo Qianqian without even entering his office.
"Luo Qianqian, your mom..." Seeing the parents walk away, Teacher Wang had no choice but to begin asking.
"My brother’s presence is enough for this issue; my mom doesn’t know the value of things." Luo Qianqian pursed her lips and smiled, then said no more. This milk, it probably cost more than what Bai Yizhu bought every day, even though it didn’t have any brand, but Luo Qianqian was certain this was no ordinary stuff.
"Qianqian, what’s the matter?" Luo Shufan’s voice arrived before he did, and just as Luo Qianqian opened the office door, she was embraced in Luo Shufan’s arms.
Luo Shufan and Bai Yizhu were both covered in sweat, looking anxiously at Luo Qianqian.
After inspecting everything, they turned toward He Wenyu who was standing aside, "Xiao Yu, are you alright? Did you get hurt?"
"Bro, I’m not hurt, don’t worry," Luo Qianqian called out to Bai Yizhu, adopting the overly affectionate nickname that made his skin crawl.
However, she was sharply brought back to reality by what followed, "You dropped it? You want a receipt? Fine, I’ll make a call." Bai Yizhu, his face stern, turned to Zhang Jingjing, "Will paying for one be enough? Don’t you also want compensation for emotional distress?"
"What are you staring at! What have I done to deserve this, If she’s brave enough to date and cheat, she should face the consequences!" Zhang Jingjing trembled under Bai Yizhu’s gaze, but still retorted defiantly.
"Dating? Cheating?" Luo Shufan frowned. His sister was dating someone? He had never seen any boys around her. After school, she always studied with him and Bai Yizhu. When did she have the time to date, let alone cheat?
"Oh, I forgot to introduce them. This is my older brother, Luo Shufan, born from the same mother, sharing the same chromosomal heritage, DNA from the same genetic chain. And that one is my brother’s good friend, who accompanies us every day to do homework to stop us from wandering off to play," Luo Qianqian said with a forced smile. "I wonder which one of them is my boyfriend and which is my mistress?"
"Tsk," He Wenyu chuckled from the sidelines, "The milk is the boyfriend, the cake is the mistress."
Bai Yizhu put down the phone from the office, revealing an innocuous smile, "Brother said he’ll be here soon."
"Teacher Wang, thank you for taking care of my little sister. She’s young and ignorant, and I apologize for any trouble she’s caused. May I ask if this student’s parent has come or when they will arrive?" Luo Shufan clenched his fists, not wanting to show his violent side in front of his sister.
"No trouble at all, seeing is believing. You truly are siblings," Teacher Wang said with a wry smile, handing Luo Shufan a report card.
"Are the results out? Teacher, how did I do?" Zhang Jingjing’s face lit up with excitement at the sight of the paper printed with the results.
Teacher Wang sighed as he handed her the report card from the desk.
"Jiang An, Li Lei, haha, I am third! Luo Qianqian, you little bitch, get out of our class, don’t be an eyesore here!!!" Zhang Jingjing laughed out loud as she read down the list of names on the report card. Not finding Luo Qianqian’s name, she looked incredulously from the top again, still not seeing Luo Qianqian’s name, nor He Wenyu’s.
"I could ignore it if I hadn’t heard it myself, but you dare to insult my sister in front of me!" Luo Shufan ground his teeth as he spat out each word.
"Bro, don’t stoop to her level. Mom is also at the school; be careful she doesn’t catch you being violent," Luo Qianqian said to Zhang Jingjing with utter disregard, "I only grieve over my food and my hat; the rest doesn’t matter to me."
"I’m only ranked 27, ah well, I guess that’s where I stand," He Wenyu whispered while Luo Shufan was angry, snatching another report card from his hand, "But Qianqian is really awesome, I’m so proud of you, sis."
"What?" Zhang Jingjing, ignoring the disdain from everyone in the office, snatched the report card from He Wenyu’s hand.
First place, Luo Qianqian???
"This is..." What’s going on? Zhang Jingjing’s words stuck in her throat when she saw that the header of the report card clearly stated: Class One, Year Four.
