Chapter 454: Chapter 434: Qin Nuan (7)
"I always feel a bit wronged," Luo Yanran sighed but didn’t insist, since Qin Nuan was someone who had her own ideas.
"Wronged about what?" Luo Qianqian didn’t want Qin Nuan to feel embarrassed, so she intervened, "Think about it, you’re popular now, still ’single,’ how many wife fans have you got? Aren’t there people clamoring to have your babies every day?"
Qin Nuan was amused by Luo Qianqian’s words but restrained herself from laughing, especially since it was about her boyfriend, so her gaze also turned to Luo Yanran.
Luo Yanran felt even more wronged; his little sister had dug a hole and pushed him into it, what was he to do? Climb out himself: "Really? I had no idea, seems like Qianqian still pays a lot of attention to her brother. I’ll get you an autographed photo."
At that remark, Luo Qianqian was speechless; why would she bother about Luo Yanran? It was just her mind randomly associating things after reading too many gossip stories.
"A photo? Sure, how about using one from when you were little?" Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes and said under her breath, but she still spared Luo Yanran’s dignity by not adding "in drag" after childhood.
Luo Yanran, speechless, directly grabbed his suitcase and went upstairs: "I’m going to pack my luggage first."
"Chickened out," Luo Qianqian shrugged helplessly at Qin Nuan.
Jia Ning helplessly watched her son beating a hasty retreat; why bother arguing with Qianqian? "By the way, Qianqian, go for a medical check-up with Nuannuan tomorrow morning. Have your third brother drop you off."
Luo Qianqian nodded, her gaze slyly shifting toward Qin Nuan: "Thinking of going home is too late now, Second Aunt has spoken, tomorrow you’re accompanying me."
Qin Nuan rolled her eyes, then nodded: "Just don’t get scared and run away from the blood test."
Luo Qianqian didn’t argue further, heading upstairs: "My stomach hurts, I’m going to the bathroom first."
Not that anyone was stopping her anyway.
Once back in her room, Luo Qianqian calmly changed her clothes, turned on her computer, and emailed her brother and Xu Tianyi about Bitcoin. She didn’t expect Luo Shufan to reply immediately.
Then, the next second, an internet call came in, and Luo Qianqian hurriedly answered.
"Is this another one of your ’dreams’?" Luo Shufan, used to his sister’s excuses, immediately blocked any attempt for her to come up with a pretext.
Hearing her brother’s voice, obviously nasal, she hesitated, "Bro, are you sleeping?" It was night where she was, just beginning to darken.
"Yeah, been busy lately, trying to catch up on some sleep," Luo Shufan replied calmly, unfazed.
Luo Qianqian believed him and shared everything on her mind about Bitcoin, reminding him of the time.
Luo Shufan, who initially just wanted to hear his sister’s voice, didn’t expect such a serious response. Startled, he paused then smiled before asking, "Nothing much happening recently, right?" He realized he couldn’t control much regarding Luo Qianqian’s issues since they were too far apart.
"Everything’s fine; eating well, sleeping well. The only issue is not growing taller, which is really bothering me." Luo Qianqian wouldn’t share troubling matters with her brother, merely half-jokingly complaining, "Sometimes I wonder if my brain is too heavy from being so smart, and it’s slowing down my growth."
"Don’t be so full of yourself," Luo Shufan chuckled through the earpiece.
Luo Qianqian giggled back, "Isn’t it true? By the way, mom is going to give birth soon; should I take leave?"
To which Luo Shufan replied without hesitation, "Don’t!"
Luo Qianqian looked puzzled but furrowed her brow and remained silent.
Luo Shufan, realizing his tone might have been too harsh, coughed lightly: "Don’t add to the chaos by doing nothing. What can you do there? Just visit during the holidays."
"That makes sense," Luo Qianqian acknowledged, quickly agreeing, "I’m usually just good at making people annoyed anyway."
"Hehe." Luo Shufan chuckled, "Do you have enough money?"
"I’m not short on money, but when you say that, it always feels like you’re taking another step toward becoming mature." Mature? Worn out is more like it.
Luo Shufan had always made sure his sister had enough for food and clothes, even sacrificing his own well-being to buy her what she wanted. This had been the case since they were little. Later, when he came into some money, he placed it directly into her hands.
"If you’re short on cash, let me know, I made some money recently." A slightly proud tone.
Luo Qianqian smiled in response and then heard someone calling her from downstairs. She said goodbye to Luo Shufan, reminding him to take the serious matters they discussed to heart, before ending the call.
On this end, Luo Shufan looked at the young man on the other side and raised an eyebrow, "Jealous?"
Xu Tianyi tugged at the corner of his mouth. Was his brother-in-law too childish? Then he looked at the computer screen, "Are you sure it’s reliable?" Everyone knew Luo Qianqian had secrets, so he didn’t probe further. If she didn’t want to talk about it, then so be it.
"It should be reliable. She just reminded me to keep it in mind, but there’s still time, no rush." Luo Shufan stretched lazily, stood up to pick up his cup, and went to the kitchen to make himself instant coffee with hot water from the kettle, "Looks like it’s going to be another long night." He deeply trusted what his sister had said.
Xu Tianyi glanced at him and then returned his gaze to the screen, not missing the line of concern at the bottom of an email. He hooked his lips in a smile, yet he didn’t rush to reply, as responding too soon might make Luo Qianqian suspicious.
Luo Qianqian came downstairs and saw her third brother and Qin Wen with clearly flushed faces from drinking. She laughed unapologetically and started snapping pictures with her phone, raising an eyebrow, "Two hundred per photo, I hold the copyright."
Is that even the point? Luo Yanran looked at his sister speechlessly.
"There’s another one knocked out in the car, no idea where he lives." Qin Nuan stated directly.
Luo Qianqian blinked, then suddenly widened her eyes in horror, "Drunk...driving???"
"I brought the people back." The ignored figure finally spoke up, and Luo Qianqian turned to him, eyes wide again.
"Why are you being an Uber driver instead of sticking with Sister Xi???" Luo Qianqian stared at Ye Liang, her mouth agape.
Ye Liang glanced at Luo Qianqian, thinking how different she was from the sweet child a year ago.
Then he leisurely spoke, "Your Sister Xi told you to visit her sometime, not to stay cooped up at home all the time."
So you’re still an Uber driver. Luo Qianqian’s gaze clearly conveyed her thoughts.
Ye Liang had nothing to say. If it weren’t for being at the same restaurant as Chang Xi and these three fellows, or Chang Xi recognizing the third Luo sibling, he wouldn’t have ended up as their driver, not even dropping Chang Xi home.
Luo Qianqian, looking at the expression on Ye Liang’s face, just wanted to say, behold, people are such visual creatures. When someone is fat, they can’t wait to get away, but once they slim down, they come flocking.
"Alright, then how did they end up this drunk?" It’s not like everyone is supposed to drink.
"The little cop was originally just drinking water, but after a skewer of insanely spicy chicken wings, he started guzzling down the wine as if it were water, and then he just zonked out," Ye Liang clarified, pointing at the two semi-conscious people on the sofa, "I don’t know where the little cop’s home is."
"Third brother!" Luo Qianqian leaped onto the sofa next to Luo Yanwu, pinching his cheeks, "So, you’ve learned to drink now, huh? Think you’re tougher than the Fourth Brother? Grandma won’t mind, let him learn the bad stuff!" She completely ignored that Luo Yanran was right there.
Luo Yanran, used as a bad example, was speechless.
Qin Nuan was wiping Qin Wen’s semi-closed eyes with a damp towel, a flicker of pleasure in his eyes, grateful for his sister’s gentleness. Then, in the next second, the towel slapped hard on Qin Wen’s head, her eyes glaring, "You’re the oldest yet you led the drinking? Is this how you network?"
Luo Qianqian, having a rather good opinion of Qin Wen for the help he had provided, quickly grabbed the towel to wipe his face. Then, without washing it, she used the same towel on Luo Yanwu. After she finished, she calmly dropped the towel on the floor and pulled Qin Nuan into the kitchen to eat.
