"Heh heh," Qin Nuan chuckled in agreement, understanding Qianqian’s implication, but she couldn’t help but wonder, had this woman hooked up with a sugar daddy back in her university days?

"You little brat!" The woman raised her arm.

Luo Qianqian looked up calmly, her gaze fixed on the woman’s eyes, a cold smile playing on her lips, "Dare you? If you dare to lay a finger on me today, tomorrow I can make sure you’re expelled. If you don’t believe me, just try it."

"You really are domineering," Qin Nuan said, half irritated, half amused by Luo Qianqian, "Go play on the side, my sister-in-law is here, why would you need to step in recklessly?"

Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue but didn’t back down, "If brother isn’t here, I am my sister-in-law’s protector. I want to see who dares to touch me?"

The man glanced at Qin Nuan, bent down slightly, and smiled at Luo Qianqian, "Little sister, you’re accompanying your sister-in-law to school? What’s your brother’s name?"

He thought if it wasn’t some prominent family, a fight would be just a fight. After such an affront, he couldn’t just not fight back, right?

"Sorry, but I’m a freshman, to be precise, it’s my sister-in-law who is accompanying me. So, if there’s an issue, come at me," Luo Qianqian curled her lips into a sneer, "By the way, it doesn’t matter what my brother’s name is. "Do you think it’s that woman’s backer who is scheming against you? That guy obviously didn’t have the financial wherewithal." Luo Qianqian frowned. It made sense for the man to not let go of Qin Nuan, who was superior in looks and economic status, but for the woman—if she had been in that situation, she would have made sure her boyfriend never saw Qin Nuan again, let alone cosy up and suggest going out for ice cream together. Something was definitely off. If the woman had no ulterior motive against Qin Nuan, there was no need for this.

Moreover, although the woman was affectionately physical with her boyfriend, her eyes betrayed a hint of indifference, which didn’t fit the picture of a couple in love.

Qin Nuan was taken aback. She had avoided contact with the two early on, so why were there still so many coincidences?

After they got off the subway, Qin Nuan called Luo Yanran to complain, while Luo Qianqian directly called Qin Wen to report the incident.

Qin Wen promised he would look into it before hanging up.

Instead of going home immediately, they went to a nearby subway station’s cold drink shop to have ice cream. Indeed, it’s not good to eat too much of something so cold, but a little wouldn’t hurt. As Luo Qianqian grew older, she wasn’t as strict with managing her diet, indulging in snacks from time to time.

Qin Nuan looked out the window, "I always feel like not resolving this matter is like not being able to start my life over. It feels like I still have something going on with them."

After receiving the news, Qin Wen immediately dropped what he was doing. His sister’s concerns were much more important than work, but she never talked about it.

Just then, the door opened, and Qin Wen was back.
