Chapter 411: Chapter 392: Intensified Course Training
Luo Qianqian left a note and departed for class the next day while Lu Simiao had not yet gotten out of bed. When she arrived at Yang Zhen’s place, she took the initiative to ask, "Uncle Yang, can you increase the intensity of my training to the extreme?"
Yang Zhen looked at Luo Qianqian with surprise, furrowing his brows slightly, "It’s possible, however, there’s one thing—you might not withstand it. The pressure the human body can endure needs to be increased gradually. You might get injured this way."
Luo Qianqian shook her head, "Within the limits of injury, can you enhance it as much as possible? I don’t have much time left."
Yang Zhen knew what Luo Qianqian was intending to do, so he didn’t say much and just silently nodded.
When teaching Luo Qianqian, he didn’t confine himself to just one style, but combined Sanda, Judo, Jeet Kune Do, etc., so the difficulty was already quite high, relatively speaking.
Although Luo Qianqian always had a look of grievance, she didn’t fudge at all during training and tried her best to perform every movement to the standard. He really liked this young girl.
By the end of the morning, Luo Qianqian was finally feeling the stifling sensation she had when she first arrived, with soreness all over her body. Back then, she had a bitter expression, but now she was smiling. The soreness didn’t matter at all—as long as she could become stronger, she feared nothing.
In the afternoon, when she went to the club, Luo Qianqian also proactively suggested that they could increase the weight. She exhibited not a hint of negative emotion. Her trainer was somewhat taken aback but immediately did as she wished, as though afraid she might regret it.
The intensity had already been increased in the morning, and the weight was added in the afternoon. Luo Qianqian’s hands were trembling as she held the gun, but still, she kept a smiling face, striving to aim and align her sight, the scope, and the target in a straight line.
When Feng came to pick her up that afternoon, she couldn’t even pull open the car door. Feng frowned tightly, "Is this really necessary?"
"Why wouldn’t it be necessary? This time it was luck, but what about next time? The gods won’t bless us every time. I’m still too weak," Luo Qianqian said with a bitter smile. She knew that next time, she might face an even more formidable adversary, and it pained her that she had no way to deal with it.
Feng furrowed his brow and remained silent. He knew Luo Qianqian was right. He couldn’t argue, and he wasn’t even sure if he could come out of the next mission unscathed, considering that he had only undertaken such high-level tasks twice before, and both times he was part of a team. This time, however, he was leading. He sighed softly and then fell silent, understanding the inner turmoil Luo Qianqian felt, as he experienced the same thing.
"Sometimes I wonder if that fox is your stepdad," Feng suddenly said.
Luo Qianqian arched her eyebrow. Do you think this is a fairy tale? Where the stepfather and stepmother are always wicked witches? Don’t you know that even the closest people can harm you in real life?
However, she didn’t voice out these thoughts, just smiled instead.
When Luo Qianqian and Feng returned, they saw Lu Simiao standing by the roadside, his face alight with joy, and observed the muddy road covered in all sorts of graffiti.
Luo Qianqian felt a twinge of frustration, got out of the car, and took Lu Simiao’s hand, "Were you waiting for your sister? Didn’t you make me something delicious?"
"Can you even eat much?" Feng reminded her coldly. Her meals were specially delivered, and she still thought about snacks?
Luo Qianqian pouted unhappily.
Lu Simiao tugged on her hand, his face brimming with happiness, "I washed apples for my sister and cooled them in the well water."
Luo Qianqian’s mood lightened a bit and she nodded her head.
Feng spoke again, "The fox said that you shouldn’t eat cold food, better warm it up before you eat."
Luo Qianqian turned around and glared at Feng, "Were you sent here by the fox to be the joker?" Warm it up again? That’s an apple, not soup; it doesn’t need to be eaten hot!
"Let them come to room temperature, be careful or you’ll suffer later," said Feng, utterly unconcerned by Luo Qianqian’s words, taking the things he bought and cheerfully entering his own room.
Luo Qianqian was at a loss for words. It was one thing for Hu Si, after all, she was a doctor. But you, a bartender, studying physical health?
Looking at the several large apples sitting in water on the table, Luo Qianqian took one out and placed it on the table, sighed, and decided that to avoid suffering excruciating pain every month, she had better control her eating habits.
Then she sat down with the book Hu Si had given her, occasionally exchanging a few words with Lu Simiao.
But soon after, she saw Feng approaching with a strange look on his face, "Luo Qianqian, the Fox wants us to go on a mission right now..."
"What, what, what???" Luo Qianqian jumped up, disbelief written all over her face.
"It’s a simple one, the kind that’s guaranteed to be done in a day," Feng continued.
"What, what, what???" Luo Qianqian’s mouth hung open, and it took a long while before she found her voice, "Why?"
"Your treatment needs to be accelerated," Feng said, offering no further explanation.
Luo Qianqian sighed, flexed her arms which had just relaxed recently, and nodded, "When do we leave?"
"Now, I guess. If we finish early, you can still come back for a hot meal," he then looked at Lu Simiao, "You can cook, right? Just unplug the rice cooker later."
Lu Simiao nodded. Luo Qianqian gently ruffled his hair and, dragging her exhausted body, went back to her room to put the book away and changed into sportswear.
When she left her room again, she saw Hu Si carrying a fairly large case that looked like it could be for a guitar. She raised an eyebrow; did they need to pretend to be artists after all?
But she didn’t ask.
The two of them got in the car, and Hu Si handed her the case directly. Her face turned pale when she opened it. Why was there a gun inside?
"What does this mean?" Luo Qianqian looked at the familiar weapon, trembling, unable to hide the fear and horror on her face.
"I’m just the driver. You have to do it yourself. And the Fox only had one request, a clean kill with one shot." Seeing Luo Qianqian’s pale face, Hu Si felt somewhat disheartened. He was happy to see that lately, she seemed to be not thinking about those things, but now it was obvious she was being forced to confront the issue directly.
Luo Qianqian forced a smile, "Fighting poison with poison?"
Seeing Luo Qianqian like this, he didn’t know how to offer comfort.
Yet, Luo Qianqian closed the case, a picture of calmness, "Who is it, and where?"
"This one." Feng handed her the photo for the mission, "It’s not someone extremely evil, but they’re involved in some secretive matters." He said, handing her the file.
Luo Qianqian didn’t even look, simply asking, "Location?"
"The suburbs, an apartment."
Luo Qianqian frowned slightly, "No surveillance?" She knew that apartments meant places with perfected security systems, impeccable surveillance.
"They will cooperate and cut off all surveillance in that area for the time being. We’re not doing anything illegal, what are you thinking?" Feng frowned.
Luo Qianqian remained silent, nodded, leaned back in her seat, and closed her eyes. But her fingertips, clutching the guitar case, turned slightly white, betraying that she was not as calm as she appeared.
