Chapter 365: Chapter 347: Chance Encounter
"Damn it..." Just as she got out of the car at the hospital entrance, Luo Qianqian cursed under her breath. Why were Luo Yanran and Lu Xunhuan together? And in a hospital of all places? They couldn’t be here to buy something inappropriate for children, could they? Even with a disguise, a handsome guy’s aura still attracts countless people to stop and take pictures.
Thinking this, Luo Qianqian, who was contemplating getting back in the car, behaved oddly and was spotted by Luo Yanran. Just as Luo Yanran was about to greet her, she noticed the person by her side and feigned indifference, pretending not to see Luo Qianqian, and casually adjusted her hair which was attempting to greet Luo Qianqian.
Lu Xunhuan glanced at the small figure getting back into the car, then noticed Luo Yanran’s awkward movements, and with a smirk said, "I just remembered I have a friend to meet. Why don’t you head back first?" Lu Xunhuan took out his phone and then looked toward a coffee shop nearby, seemingly searching for someone.
Luo Qianqian asked directly, "Doctor Hu, who are you bringing me to meet?"
"Meet whom?" Hu Si started the car and drove directly into the parking lot. "To see a doctor, to prescribe you some nerve-calming brain tonics."
Seeing that Hu Si didn’t look like he was lying, Luo Qianqian frowned, "I’m feeling unwell today, let’s come back tomorrow."
Hu Si nonchalantly nodded his head, "Then should we head back now?"
"No need, just drop me off at Nuannuan’s place later." Luo Qianqian watched as Hu Si drove out of the parking lot. Glancing back, she caught Lu Xunhuan’s eyes from such a distance, and her heart skipped a beat, feeling as if the eyes hidden under the hat brim were smiling at her.
Luo Qianqian hadn’t walked far when she received a message from Luo Yanran, telling her not to come to the hospital today.
After replying with an "Mmm," Luo Qianqian didn’t bother with it further, feeling that Lu Xunhuan, a king-level celebrity, had become as dangerous in her mind as Hei Yu, even more frightening than Hu Si.
"Qianqian?" Upon reaching the floor where Luo Yanran’s office was located, this entire floor was Luo Yanran’s own space. This room was specifically used as Qin Nuan’s office and a conference hall. After all, this building was also one of the properties under Luo Yanran’s father’s ownership. The location wasn’t particularly good, but its advantage lay in its quietness, with no major sources of noise around. Even if it was left vacant to accumulate salt, he was fine with it.
"What happened to you?" The moment Luo Qianqian saw Qin Nuan, she almost thought that her trustworthy friend had been bullied, noticing the office piled with takeout boxes and empty drink bottles.
"Oh, those? We ate those yesterday, still haven’t cleaned up." Qin Nuan frowned, pulling Luo Qianqian onto a relatively clean sofa. "I didn’t sleep last night, thinking about these two people. I don’t remember any rumors about them."
"I don’t remember either." Luo Qianqian shrugged. Not having a recollection didn’t completely mean absence; it could also mean that someone had managed the information tightly, preventing it from getting out, or that someone powerful was suppressing the news.
"Who do you think is behind these two people?" Qin Nuan asked directly, understanding this point.
Luo Qianqian pursed her lips and frowned, "How should I know? But judging from the current situation, they appear to be friends, not foes."
"That’s not necessarily true. What about playing a long game? Gaining our trust first, then striking us hard..." Qin Nuan frowned, pulling out a laptop. "This is the information I found. Lu Xunhuan’s debut role was a male lead. He never did extra work, never played a supporting role, became famous instantly, and because he sang the ending song for that drama, he also released an album which shockingly became the highest-selling album in the past decade."
Looking at the information already found yesterday, Luo Qianqian frowned, "I feel this person is not so simple. Do you think it’s possible he’s the same kind as us?"
"Like us? You mean?" Rebirth?
Luo Qianqian nodded, and Qin Nuan grasped Luo Qianqian’s hand, a look of tension on her face. If someone really came back, their Rebirth identities might be exposed, possibly causing major trouble.
"No, according to his abilities, he could have acted before us, our actions are not as impactful as just one of his words." Qin Nuan suddenly calmed down, looking at Luo Qianqian, "If it’s true, there’s no reason for his trajectory to be the same as before, right? He could have taken up those famous works."
Thinking it over, it made sense, and Luo Qianqian sighed.
"Feels like you can’t focus on your review either." Qin Nuan sighed, "I plan to go there with Luo Yanran in a few days."
Luo Qianqian frowned, "Your brother told me, you’re not unaware of what it’s like over there..."
"I know," Qin Nuan cut off Luo Qianqian mid-sentence, her expression resolute, "But I can’t lose track of the news from there. My second brother has already gone, and my eldest is about to go. The incident started because of us, it’s unreasonable to let our loved ones take risks while we remain safe, feeling even more uneasy not receiving any news."
Luo Qianqian knew too, communication would be cut off, even getting out was a problem, but she didn’t know whether she should go. If not, she wouldn’t be at peace here either. If she went, it seemed like she wouldn’t be able to help much.
As if seeing through Luo Qianqian’s thoughts, Qin Nuan smiled, "Don’t worry, your brother, I’ll take care of him. You just stay home and focus on your review. The environment over there is not good after all, it won’t allow you a peaceful sleep."
It pained her that Luo Qianqian had to sleep with the help of a device every night, it was just one person, and she didn’t know how she would react if she saw even greater disasters.
Luo Qianqian remained silent. Qin Nuan was right, she couldn’t sleep peacefully without the device, and going there would only add to the chaos. It was already messy, who would specifically take the time to care for her?
"I know, I won’t go. I’ll wait at home for you guys." Luo Qianqian smiled, her face a bit pale, feeling useless.
Just then, Luo Yanran entered the room without knocking, "Qin Nuan, you should tell Qianqian to stay away from Lu Xunhuan..."
Then, the siblings caught each other’s gaze. Luo Yanran awkwardly touched his nose, "Qianqian, you’re here too."
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, "Not welcome? Then I’ll leave."
Saying this, she stood up to go.
"No no no, it’s good you’re here. I just ran into Qianqian at the hospital, I feel like Lu Xunhuan, that Old Niu, seems interested in Qianqian," Luo Yanran said, clearly agitated. "Even choosing Tianyi would be better than that old bull, he’s almost old enough to be your dad."
Luo Qianqian was exasperated, having an interest doesn’t necessarily mean liking or admiration...
"Don’t worry, my tastes aren’t that..." She was about to say her tastes weren’t that bad when she saw Lu Xunhuan, who had followed Luo Yanran into the room, closing her mouth with an odd expression.
Feeling something off, Luo Yanran turned around and saw a smiling yet not smiling Lu Xunhuan, his face immediately turning awkward. Unsure if his badmouthing had been caught, "Senior Lu, what brings you here? Didn’t you have plans with a friend?"
