Chapter 344: Chapter 326: I’m the Transfer Student
The Luo Family’s Old Master was very efficient. The next day, he had Luo Xiying take Luo Qianqian to the school to register. Looking at the vast campus, Luo Qianqian felt as if she were in a different world, and seeing the boys and girls in their school uniforms, she genuinely longed to be one of them.
Seeing the boy standing at the office door, Luo Qianqian smiled wide in her wheelchair, "Waiting for me?"
Xu Tianyi didn’t worry about Luo Xiying’s gaze as he approached Luo Qianqian; after all, their situation was so well-known in the Luo Family that there was no one who didn’t know about it.
"Joining me for a bit? Hmm?" Xu Tianyi took the backpack from Luo Qianqian’s arms and smiled at Luo Xiying, "Master Luo Si, the teacher is in the office. I’m heading to the classroom."
As Xu Tianyi left, Luo Qianqian was quite surprised and turned to her young uncle with a puzzled expression, "My uncle is being called that old, he doesn’t seem like the brilliant and valorous ’Killer God’ at all."
Luo Xiying glanced at Luo Qianqian, her little schemes clear to him, "Do you want him to change how he addresses you? I’m not paying for that."
Luo Qianqian squinted her eyes, smiling, "That’s right. Even if he’s just a friend, at most he would call him ’uncle.’ And my young uncle is so young and handsome, calling him ’brother’ wouldn’t be unreasonable."
Luo Xiying rolled his eyes, "Stop your chatter. Someone will come to bring you lunch at noon. Don’t just eat anything."
Luo Qianqian nodded her head, then was pushed into the office by Luo Xiying tapping on the door.
"Good morning, Teacher," Luo Xiying said with a straight face and a serious tone, making Luo Qianqian hardly believe he was her young uncle, but she still managed a calm smile.
"Good morning, good morning." The director hesitated, seeing Luo Qianqian in a wheelchair, "Is this Luo Qianqian?" Had the Luo family’s young lady done something to land in such a state? She looked so weak.
"Good morning, Teacher, I’m Luo Qianqian." She smiled, untroubled, knowing well what kind of children teachers liked.
"My niece had a car accident and has to be in a wheelchair for a few months. She needs to continue her treatment here without delaying her studies, which is why she has been enrolled in the school. She still has to go back for the exams," Luo Xiying explained calmly. Everything was arranged already; sending Luo Qianqian to school now was merely a formality.
The director was well aware of this and nodded eagerly, "Rest assured, we will take good care of her. It’s just that entering senior year..." The director hesitated as he looked at Luo Qianqian.
Luo Qianqian smiled, "I’m taking the college entrance exam this year. Didn’t you know, Teacher?"
The director nodded, "Then I’ll take her to the class. Don’t worry; once a child is entrusted to us, we take responsibility."
Luo Xiying nodded satisfactorily. In front of the teacher, he handed a cell phone to Luo Qianqian, "Call if you need anything. Your health is the most important. Tell the family two hours in advance if you want to eat something specific."
Luo Qianqian squinted her eyes and nodded her head.
The director, already used to seeing second and third generations with cell phones, was about to say something when Luo Qianqian turned off her phone in front of him, "Don’t worry, Teacher. I won’t play with my phone during school. I’ll only use it when necessary, and it will be during breaks, so it won’t disturb the class."
The director nodded in satisfaction, then saw Luo Qianqian looking at Luo Xiying, "Pork rib and corn soup, egg custard, bok choy in broth, eggplant with garlic sauce without carrots, apples for fruit, and I’ll have rice for the main dish—for two people. And that’s it."
Luo Xiying nodded his head, took out his phone, and sent the message with Luo Qianqian’s order. He whispered to the director, "She can’t see blood, not even the color of it. Please pay special attention to this."
When they reached the classroom door, although the room was still in silent reading time, all eyes were on the outside. Seeing the director arrive, the class teacher quickly stood up and came out of the classroom, "Director, you’ve come."
"Yes, this is Luo Qianqian, who is joining your class today. Please take good care of her."
As Luo Zhen looked down, all he saw was a little girl tilting her head and smiling sweetly at him, "Good morning, Teacher. I’m Luo Qianqian."
"Good morning." Luo Zhen nodded, his impression of the little girl improving greatly—although she was in a wheelchair, she sat up straight.
"I’ll leave her in your care; this is Luo Qianqian’s guardian," the director nodded and then left with Luo Xiying to discuss the matter of fees.
Luo Qianqian waved casually, "Goodbye, Uncle."
Luo Zhen didn’t miss the scar on Luo Qianqian’s hand. He was somewhat surprised; it looked almost like it was caused by an IV needle.
Then I saw Xu Tianyi calmly walk out of the classroom, pushing Luo Qianqian in, and I hurried into the classroom as well. Addressing the classmates who were studying early, I said, "This is Luo Qianqian, transferring to our class today." Even though it was self-study time, the classroom became quiet when the director brought someone to the door.
"Hello, everyone, I’m Luo Qianqian." Luo Qianqian smiled. "I was injured in a car accident, so I might be troubling everyone during this period. If I cause any inconvenience, please bear with me."
"Hmm, you can sit at..." Luo Zhen looked around at the seats, frowning.
"I’ll sit with Xu Tianyi."
"Luo Qianqian will sit with me."
Luo Qianqian and Xu Tianyi said in unison, which immediately provoked laughter in the classroom.
Luo Qianqian’s cheeks flushed instantly. Xu Tianyi’s deskmate very consciously took his packed belongings and moved, having realized the situation the moment he saw the girl Killer God had brought back. His stuff was already packed, and even the unused books were placed on the empty spot over there.
Luo Zhen looked at the two with amusement and nodded, "You two sit together." The youngest ones in the class, yet both so earnest about it.
In the science class, the key science class of a key school, the male-to-female ratio was eight to one, forty boys to a total of five girls with Luo Qianqian being the only girl sitting with a boy.
Luo Qianqian’s wheelchair had a thick cushion, naturally much more comfortable than the regular student chairs. The class took extra care of her, despite the fact that end-of-term exams were approaching.
"Why are you staring at me?" she asked with a blush, shielding her face with a book as Xu Tianyi gazed at her instead of the blackboard or his textbook.
"Who would have thought we’d have a day to study together," Xu Tianyi said with a smile. "Can you keep up?"
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. She had prepared for the exams with those two last year, how could she not keep up? It’s just that some parts were a bit difficult to comprehend.
"Stop staring at me. I can’t focus on the class," Luo Qianqian said with a flushed face, putting down her book. Xu Tianyi stopped disturbing her and simply sat beside her with a gentle smile.
As soon as the class ended, the gossipmongers immediately came over, "What’s up with you two?"
Xu Tianyi unapologetically grabbed Luo Qianqian’s hand, "Green Plum and Bamboo Horse, two childhood sweethearts."
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes inwardly, but on the surface, she withdrew her hand and looked down with a smile, "Tianyi Brother, stop teasing. Don’t let the girls who like you get the wrong idea." Yet, she felt a chill in her heart. Being so cooperative didn’t bring her any benefits, but men do need their pride, don’t they?
Xu Tianyi was rather surprised by Luo Qianqian’s reaction. Who liked him? Was she reluctant to acknowledge their relationship? With that thought, his eyes narrowed dangerously.
Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue and then looked down at her book, remaining silent like a well-behaved child, leaving nothing to be commented on.
Xu Tianyi’s former deskmate jumped out, "Hey kid, how old are you? You seem really young, like a middle school student."
Luo Qianqian was taken aback. Shouldn’t she indeed be in the first year of middle school?
Xu Tianyi melted seeing Luo Qianqian counting on her fingers, speaking softly, "Haven’t you heard of a Genius?"
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes unceremoniously. In front of you, who would dare to call themselves a genius?
The onlookers laughed as they watched Luo Qianqian roll her eyes. "Who’s that eye roll for, little sister?"
Luo Qianqian didn’t speak until the bell signaling the start of class rang, and everyone returned to their seats. Then Xu Tianyi asked with a dark expression, "What do you mean by liking me? Have you taken a fancy to someone else?" His voice tinged with a teeth-gritting sentiment.
Luo Qianqian chuckled, "What’s easily obtained isn’t cherished. How could I let you stand beside me that easily?"
"You," Xu Tianyi responded, somewhat speechlessly to Luo Qianqian’s explanation but relaxed. He whispered in her ear, "Time will prove everything, won’t it?"
Luo Qianqian nodded with a smile. Of course, time would tell all truths and deceptions.
